Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 655 - 651, I heard you’ve found a new love.
After dinner, it truly was Mia Foster who picked up the tab, taking out her card to give to the server and not forgetting to considerately ask Felix Shaw before rising to leave, "Are you satisfied with the meal?"
"Satisfied, very satisfied." Being accompanied by a beautiful woman, without the need to spend his own money, the money-loving man was naturally pleased. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
After sitting for a while, the two of them got up to leave. Felix Shaw was very gentlemanly, holding Mia Foster’s windbreaker and even helping her put it on her shoulders when they walked out of the restaurant, a gesture akin to that of a Guardian Angel that warmed Mia’s heart.
The chill of the early spring night had Felix donning his own windbreaker, slipping his arms into the sleeves while glancing at the traffic on the street, he then suggested, "Let me take you back."
Mia Foster had intended to refuse since she had her own car, and it seemed a waste of time for Felix to take her back and forth, but after thinking it over, she didn’t decline and tilted her head, smiling, "Okay."
Felix Shaw...
This was genuinely just a courtesy!
But the words were out, and there was no taking them back. He assisted Mia Foster down the steps, thinking to send her back quickly as he had made plans to play cards with some buddies.
Just as they stepped down, a fiery red sports car stopped in front of the restaurant. A woman dressed in a bizarrely glamorous style got out of the car; seeing her attire, Mia’s eyes widened – it was the kind of scene one would only expect on a celebrity red carpet.
Next to her, Felix Shaw saw the woman and immediately furrowed his handsome brows.
The woman had big wavy hair draped to one side, a red tube top dress, black high heels, and though it seemed to be summer, she was actually draped in a white fur on her shoulders.
Mia Foster couldn’t help but mutter to herself, "Beauty that could freeze someone solid."
She herself felt a bit cold despite being more dressed.
The woman, holding a petite handbag, walked toward the restaurant entrance, but when she looked up and saw Mia Foster and Felix Shaw, her steps visibly slowed.
With a heavily made-up face full of expression, the woman’s look of surprise and sorrow made Mia quite puzzled; she didn’t have many friends in the country, and yet the woman approaching seemed to display an air of regretful longing upon seeing her.
It wasn’t until she got closer that Mia realized her misapprehension; the woman’s target wasn’t her but the man by her side – Felix Shaw.
"Felix..." The woman spoke, her voice and facial emotions barely concealing her excitement. Mia was very curious, what kind of relationship could make this woman so stirred up? After all, Felix Shaw was neither a leader nor a celebrity.
"Long time no see." Felix Shaw glanced coolly at the woman opposite him, with a hint of scorn in his slightly raised lips, and his arm still braced on Mia Foster’s elbow, unfazed and showing no embarrassment or discomfort because of the woman.
"Yeah, it really has been a long time," the woman nodded grievously, her glossed lips shimmering with tears under the neon glow of the restaurant’s logo. Mia blinked in confusion, turning to look at Felix Shaw, his nonchalant demeanor only deepening her bewilderment.
"Felix, why haven’t you contacted me for so long?" The woman lamented upon seeing Felix paying her no mind. It dawned on Mia Foster all at once – this was one of Felix’s past flings.
With the attitude of watching a show, Mia was quite interested in how Felix would deal with this old romantic problem. But all she heard him say, indifferently, was one word, "Busy."
As that word fell, the woman looked even more aggrieved, a tear slowly rolling down her cheek, the sight of her fragility causing Mia an involuntary shudder.
Then the woman, with tears streaming down, accused, "Felix, do you not want me anymore? I heard... that you have a new love, a B-list little star..."
