Chapter 1090: Chapter 1086: You Dare Covet My Woman? Know Your Own Worth

"Whoever feels guilty, that’s who I’m talking about!" Beatrice Hargrave sneered, and just as she finished speaking, Hannah Hargrave raised her hand and slapped her.

With a loud "smack," the slap landed on Beatrice’s face—a sudden action that stunned everyone at the dining table.

Beatrice was the first to react, throwing down her chopsticks and starting to tussle with Hannah, "You bitch, how dare you hit me!"

Since Hannah was already prepared, she grabbed Beatrice’s wrists, and the two sisters started fighting on the dining table. Opposite them, Josephine Hawthorne also threw down her chopsticks and stood up, intending to help her daughter against Beatrice.

Henry Hargrave slammed the dining table forcefully and shouted in displeasure, "Stop it, all of you!"

Seeing that her daughter was not at a disadvantage, Josephine huffed coldly and sat back down. Hannah also shoved Beatrice away, tossing her head and smoothing the big waves beside her ear.

Beatrice clutched her aching cheek, turning her head to glare hatefully at Hannah, pursing her lips tightly, her chest heaving continuously.

Henry looked at his eldest daughter, scolding her sternly, "Hannah, how can you behave like this as an elder sister! When we brought Beatrice back, didn’t I tell you that you need to act like an elder sister and not make us a laughing stock to outsiders!"

"Hmph! An illegitimate child born of a whore is not fit to be my sister!" Hannah said indifferently while smoothing her long hair. Having been outright rejected by Nicholas Croft, she had been in a bad mood these days. She used to put on a show in front of her father, but now she couldn’t even be bothered.

Before Henry could continue to reprimand her, something flashed before Hannah’s eyes, followed by a shriek.

"Ah... you bitch, how disgusting... my new dress, my hair..."

It turned out that Beatrice had dumped her unfinished millet porridge all over Hannah.

Now, the golden millet porridge was dripping down Hannah’s hair and face, making her look both pitiful and ridiculous.

Beatrice raised her chin and said expressionlessly, "A bitch can only do disgusting things, otherwise she wouldn’t be called a bitch!"

After speaking, she slammed the empty bowl onto the dining table, got up, and walked towards the stairs.

At the dining table, Josephine took a napkin to help her daughter wipe off the millet porridge, cursing incessantly as she did so. Henry also got up to follow after Beatrice left the table, his face gloomy as he headed towards the stairs.

In the room, Beatrice took out a suitcase and started stuffing all her clothes into it, with visible finger marks still on her cheek.

Henry pushed open the door and walked in. Although he wasn’t particularly fond of his younger daughter, Hannah’s behavior had been too outrageous, and as a father, he couldn’t turn a blind eye.

Standing by the bed, watching Beatrice silently pack her suitcase, Henry said, "Beatrice, about what happened earlier... I’m apologizing to you on behalf of your sister." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Beatrice...

She threw the clothes in her hands into the suitcase and said, "So this is what you call giving me a family, giving me warmth! I never received such treatment when I was alone before!"

Henry had nothing to say in response to his daughter’s words. It had been a helpless decision to bring her back, but he hadn’t expected his wife and older daughter to be so hostile towards her.

He glanced at the packed suitcase and sighed, asking, "Where do you plan to go?"

"I’ll stay at the stadium, several staff members live and eat there," Beatrice continued packing her suitcase, then closed it and said emotionlessly as she lifted it off the floor, "Don’t worry, when I make it big, I’ll repay you twice the amount you spent on me back then!"

With those words, she left the room without a backward glance, dragging her suitcase behind her.

Beatrice’s departure was something worth celebrating for Josephine and her daughter.

If the Hargrave Family hadn’t put in so much effort and money to bring her here back then, Josephine would never have agreed to let her husband and daughter bring Beatrice into the entertainment industry.

When Henry returned to the living room, Josephine said she and Hannah had discussed it earlier; after the concert was over, they planned to buy an apartment for Beatrice. After all, she already owed the Hargrave Family so much that an apartment wouldn’t make a difference. When she hits it big in the future, they could expect her to repay it twice.

Henry said nothing, sitting down on the sofa, leaning back with his head. It seemed that for now, this was the only decision they could make. As long as Beatrice stayed another day at home, it wouldn’t be peaceful as it used to be.

Once she finished her concert, he’d arrange for her to join a production team. While the hype from the talent show was still fresh, she could gain more fans, and he believed she would soon be as popular as the rising stars.

After leaving the Hargrave Family with her suitcase, Beatrice never returned. Meanwhile, in the Infi Group CEO’s office, Nicholas Croft squinted his eyes at the newspaper on his desk.

It was the same as the one Henry had given Beatrice, featuring a photo of her and Alexander Zimmerman.

His lowered gaze hid his emotions, but his handsome face completely exposed his thoughts, dark and brooding as if brewing a storm.

After a while, Assistant Tang knocked and entered, "President, what did you need me for?"

Nicholas looked up, took a deep breath, leaned back in his executive chair, and lightly tapped his fingers on the armrest, asking indifferently, "Did Alexander mention holding a national tour earlier?"

Assistant Tang paused, nodding uncertainly, "Yes, you agreed to it before."

Nicholas took another breath, leaned slightly, and looked at the newspaper on his desk, saying blandly, "Tell the finance department that the budget is canceled; the company is tight on cash flow."

"But, President..." Assistant Tang hesitated. The national tour for Alexander had been on the agenda, and given his popularity and fanbase, it would surely bring substantial profits to the company. Yet, now the President was saying to cancel the budget. Assistant Tang couldn’t understand, but as he started to argue, Nicholas looked up. Although he appeared calm, the slight raise of his brow revealed an authoritative air that brooked no dissent.

"What? Is my message not clear enough?"

Meeting the less-than-friendly gaze of the President, Assistant Tang quickly bowed his head, "Yes, I’ll inform the finance department immediately."

Speaking, Assistant Tang sneaked a glance at Nicholas’s desk. At this moment, Nicholas’s gaze lingered on that newspaper, his lips curling with a trace of ridicule.

Assistant Tang sighed inwardly. This Alexander, really, knowing Beatrice was the apple of the President’s eye, should’ve kept a distance. Now, their scheduled national tour was scrapped just like that.

"Hmm," Nicholas responded faintly. After Assistant Tang left the office, his long fingers tapped on the man’s photo and he sneered, "You dare covet my woman? Do you even know your place?"
