Chapter 1040: Chapter 1036: Aphrodisiac

Having mingled in the entertainment industry for years, Nicholas Croft knew full well that something had been added to this bottle of red wine. He raised his hand, his slender finger pressing at his temple, exerting pressure with fingertips as he massaged, hoping the pain would stimulate him to stay awake.

His hazy eyes looked at Hannah Hargrave, whose cheeks were already flushed, and he felt even more certain.

He had been "entangled" with Hannah for three years; the media had extensively portrayed them as a couple. The reason he hadn’t clarified was because her presence had indeed helped shield him from a lot of trouble.

If it weren’t for Hannah, his "girlfriend," always being by his side, who knows how many pests would cling to him.

Nicholas Croft thought this mutually beneficial relationship would continue, at least until Sophie Foster returned—he didn’t want to break it. Yet, what he hadn’t anticipated was that a renowned producer would resort to such low tactics.

A cold sneer was hidden in his heart, and a barely-there smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He was curious about the consequences for a woman who has been drugged if there was no relief.

"Dad planned it this way," Hannah showed a troubled expression as the drug in the wine began to take effect. Not only did her cheeks feel hot, but the sensation inside her body was like countless little insects crawling, tickling and very uncomfortable.

She raised a hand to her forehead. When she spoke again, her voice was almost a whisper, "But Mi-er wants to get into the entertainment industry, so..."

Hannah’s eyes were evidently hazy, and her behavior seemed beyond her control. Looking at the handsome face of the man opposite, she unconsciously extended her small tongue, slowly licking her lips as the little insects inside her became more restless. She lightly bit her lip, looking at the man opposite with eyes as soft as silk.

Seeing Hannah’s reaction, Nicholas Croft smiled faintly, leaned forward, and raised his wine glass, "Hannah, let’s have another drink."

"Okay..." Like being hypnotized, Hannah instinctively clinked glasses with Nicholas Croft.

Nicholas Croft didn’t drink, watching as Hannah drank the entire glass of red wine. The smile at the corner of his lips deepened.

"Hmm... Nicholas...," Hannah reached across the low table towards Nicholas Croft, unsure if it was the drug’s effect or too much wine. Her body lost balance, collapsing onto the low table, causing the wine glasses and red wine to tumble onto the carpet.

"Hmm..." With both hands supporting the table, Hannah looked up at Nicholas Croft. A drugged person, even if the opposite sex were unattractive, would appear as a paragon, much more so when Hannah knew the man opposite was Nicholas Croft. Amidst her unbearable moans, Hannah unexpectedly crawled across the low table to grip Nicholas Croft’s lapel.

"Nicholas... uncomfortable..." one hand tightly grabbing Nicholas Croft’s lapel, the other restlessly fondling her own chest. Dressed only in a bathrobe, these motions made the fullness almost entirely exposed to Nicholas Croft’s gaze.

Under the misty crystal chandelier, her face glowed with an enticing pink. Her tongue slipped out again, lingering over her glistening, pink lips, her eyes veiled with mist. At this moment, Hannah seemed like a blooming poppy, both wicked and alluring.

Nicholas Croft was also caught in the trap. Although he hadn’t drunk that last glass, his will was somewhat blurred. Earlier, when Hannah hadn’t come close, he could restrain himself, planning to leave after her full reaction. But now...

The warm softness was right before him, just a slight move and it was his for the taking. Furthermore, that unique womanly fragrance wafted into his nose...

The restlessness accumulated in his heart suddenly broke free, a torrent of heat crashing down from his mind swiftly.
