Hannah Hargrave’s outfit seemed casual but was actually quite meticulous—a pair of beige pencil pants paired with a similarly colored floral shirt, her long hair casually tied at the back, exuding a comfortable yet elegant aura. She sat on the sofa with Nicholas Croft, occasionally chatting about their recent film collaboration.
Nicholas was quite curious. He had never heard of there being a younger daughter in the Hargrave family, had never seen or heard anyone mention her. Just as he was wondering, the sound of a car engine came from outside the villa. Hannah’s eyes filled with joy as she said, "Dad, it must be Beatrice coming back."
After speaking, she hurriedly got up to greet her outside the villa.
Henry Hargrave also stood up, "Nicholas, come with me to see my daughter."
"Okay,"
Nicholas replied politely, standing up and following Henry Hargrave outside.
Josephine Hawthorne just happened to come out of the kitchen, sneering disdainfully as she saw their backs, "What’s so special about the child of a cheap woman to make such a fuss!"
Despite her words, she still put on a smile and went out to greet them.
Hannah stood at the door in a familial elder sister manner, with a suitable arc on her lips, making anyone who saw them feel that the two sisters were very close.
Nicholas followed Henry out, standing level with Hannah as a black luxury car stopped in front of the villa gate and a door opened, with an assistant stepping out first.
After getting out of the car, the assistant held the car door and placed a hand on the roof. Nicholas couldn’t help but sneer inwardly. The Hargrave daughters sure know how to show off; Hannah had an assistant accompany her, and this unseen younger child even brought a nanny along.
Raising an eyebrow in slight disdain, Nicholas watched with lowered gaze as canvas shoes stepped out from the luxury car.
Looking up from the canvas shoes revealed a long leg wrapped in denim jeans. Once Beatrice stepped completely out of the car, smiling at her family welcoming her at the doorstep, Nicholas’s mocking gaze suddenly froze.
The girl standing before him was none other than the most controversial and talked-about contestant, Beatrice Hargrave.
In the midst of his surprise, Beatrice was already laughing and walking over, "Dad, sis, why did you come outside in this cold weather?"
Nicholas’s breathing was somewhat erratic as he watched Beatrice walk towards them, his fingers curled inside his trouser pockets, a name choked in his throat, Lara...
While speaking, Beatrice already stood in front of them, dressed in denim clothes and pants, with her long hair pulled high into a ponytail, a fresh face exuding purity, even her eyes as clear as a pool of lake water.
Her clear gaze unabashedly fell on Nicholas’s face, smiling as she asked,
"This uncle is so handsome. Sis, is he your boyfriend?"
Glancing at Nicholas, Hannah’s face showed shyness as she replied softly with a "Mm," acknowledging him, while Nicholas’s black eyes have not moved away since Beatrice stepped out of the car. Seeing Nicholas staring intensely at her, Beatrice giggled and waved a hand in front of him, "Hi, uncle, are you hypnotized?"
Nicholas slightly regained his composure, unintentionally squinting his eyes which looked somewhat dazed as he met Beatrice’s innocent gaze.
"Beatrice, don’t be so mischievous, Nicholas is your sister’s friend, call him brother." Henry chimed in, how could his future son-in-law be mistaken for an uncle.
Beatrice took her father’s arm, looking at Nicholas’s clearly lost expression, she laughed and said, "Dad, this uncle visibly looks much older, so calling him uncle isn’t inappropriate at all!"
