Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar-Chapter 16: Are You an Idiot?
Maeve Sutton hurriedly waved her hand. "No need for introductions."
Nora Ainsworth smiled faintly. "No, what I mean is, if you’ve taken a liking to him, I can set you two up."
Leon Lynch’s smile froze. He glanced casually at Maeve Sutton, his tone laced with a hint of frustration. "Are you an idiot? Pushing your own outstanding fiancé onto someone else."
Nora Ainsworth was unfazed. "I just noticed she can’t take her eyes off you."
At this remark, Maeve Sutton’s face flushed crimson.
"Baby, hurry up and eat. Stop saying silly things, okay?" His tenderness was almost inhuman.
Quentin Grant put down his chopsticks. "I’m finished."
Sharon Ainsworth’s eyes lit up as she looked at him. "Quentin, can we go for a walk?"
"No, I have an important meeting at my company soon. You all head back together. I’m leaving first."
Nora Ainsworth looked up at him, her gaze falling into a pair of eyes as deep as pools of water.
She quickly lowered her head, avoiding his gaze.
Quentin Grant left, his tall, slender figure disappearing through the restaurant’s entrance.
She was momentarily lost in thought. Seeing the disappointed expression on Sharon Ainsworth’s face, she felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction.

After leaving the restaurant, Leon Lynch drove her and Maeve Sutton to the school gate.
After getting out of the car, she headed straight for the school.
"Nora Ainsworth, you must be feeling pretty pleased with yourself, aren’t you?"
She turned her head. "We’ve known each other for a while now. Don’t you know what kind of person I am? Besides, you’re the star of the show, and I’m just the background. The star is the one who gets to shine; why would the background feel pleased?"
Maeve Sutton watched her retreating back, her face ashen with anger.
It was safe to say that for the rest of the afternoon at school, Nora Ainsworth didn’t have the slightest inclination to study.
Images of Quentin Grant kept popping into her mind—his cold face, his teasing smile.
’Of all people, she had to get involved with a man like that, and now there was no room to turn back and escape. He was strong, and she wasn’t weak either, but before him, she had nowhere to run. A single careless word from him could destroy her. If he were to reveal the truth about their physical intimacy, it was easy to imagine the butterfly effect it would create in the city. At worst, he would just marry her instead, but she would be saddled with a scandal for the rest of her life. A fate worse than death.’
When night fell, Nora Ainsworth headed home.
As she rounded the corner to her house, she spotted a tall figure.
It was her step-brother, Nicholas Ainsworth.
"Brother." It was her way of greeting him; she had addressed him this way for years. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Nicholas Ainsworth looked at her. "Everyone at home is waiting for you."
She nodded and entered the Ainsworth Residence first.
When she reached the living room doorway, she realized that Nicholas Ainsworth hadn’t come in at all.
As Nora Ainsworth stepped through the door, she couldn’t help but think, ’He’s coming over far too often.’
"Nora, your brother-in-law is here. Hurry up and come eat."
"Okay," Nora Ainsworth replied.
Once again, she sat across from him.
She picked up her chopsticks and ate with her head down, until his foot hooked her leg for the second time. A shiver ran down Nora Ainsworth’s spine, and her body went rigid.
’Does he have to do this?’
Her grip on her chopsticks loosened as she clearly felt his leg rubbing against her calf.
She forced herself to endure it.
Finally, she gritted her teeth, stomped the heel of her high heel hard onto his leather shoe, and then stood up with a brilliant smile. "Mom, I’m going upstairs to bed."
"Nora, Leon called. He said his mother wants to see you. Have the driver take you to the Lynch residence later."
’Mrs. Lynch? She wants to see me? Is she going to try that old trick again?’
"Alright."
