Chapter 657: Chapter 657: Does it hurt to hold on so tightly? (2)

"Mr. Gu, I’m just here to talk about work. My habits don’t matter," Lu Wanwan said as she turned around, giving him a glance that was neither salty nor sweet, "As for the habits of Mr. Gu before work, they’re quite an eye-opener."

Gu Annan listened to her as she incessantly referred to him as ’Mr. Gu’ in every other sentence, "Wait, I’m going to change clothes."

Her patience was growing thin; she couldn’t even wait a little longer while he took a shower.

There she was again, giving him looks and making herself clear, adding a dash of sarcasm too.

But when he thought about it, if this difficult client were someone else, she probably wouldn’t have a single complaint and would just wait obediently.

At least this proved that, no matter how much she wanted to distance herself, she still felt differently towards him.

Gu Annan felt much better when he thought of these things.

He went into the suite to find a set of clothes. When he came back, he was buttoning up his shirt while walking toward the desk, "Come here."

"Mr. Gu, I think..."

"If you don’t come here, you won’t be able to see clearly what I am talking about," Gu Annan’s lips curved slightly.

Lu Wanwan felt a twinge of irritation, especially when she saw him calling her over in his post-shower state, clothes not yet properly worn.

His chest was still half exposed, the buttons undone.

He was the spitting image of a licentious noble son, not at all like he was about to discuss business seriously.

"Miss Lu," Gu Annan enunciated each word as he looked at her, deliberately pronouncing the three words with particular clarity, "Rest assured, I know how to separate personal from professional. Business first, personal matters later."

Lu Wanwan walked over with an indifferent face, deliberately avoiding his indecent appearance.

She looked at the plan from last time and found that he had completely revised it.

"If you’ve already figured it all out, what do you need me for?"

It wasn’t just thought. He had gone ahead and annotated all the areas requiring amendments with his own remarks.

"Mhm." Then he pointed to every change and explained all his thoughts once more.

Lu Wanwan had to admit that his revisions made the plan much more comprehensive; Annan’s capabilities were indeed not to be underestimated.

"Take it back, tidy it up, and submit it to your superior," Gu Annan handed it to her, "Now that official business is over."

Lu Wanwan took back the document, not wanting to stay a second longer, "Mr. Gu, I’ll be leaving first."

"Did I say you could leave now?"

She pursed her lips but eventually stopped in her tracks, "We have no personal matters to discuss."

"Is it that we have nothing to discuss, or do you think the office isn’t the appropriate place?"

She looked up; wasn’t that obvious?

Gu Annan slow and leisurely adjusted his clothes, saying nonchalantly, "Then let’s find a place to talk slowly."

Why aren’t you dead yet?

"Or shall we talk at your place?"

Lu Wanwan took a deep breath inwardly, "If you have something to say, just say it."

"I have a business trip the day after tomorrow, so let’s put all business matters on hold," he glanced at her, only to see that expectant and relieved look in her eyes and his face darkened.

"Is that all? Great!" Her tone was unusually light.

Gu Annan coldly flicked the VIP card he had given her before back to her, landing it precisely at the edge of the table, right next to her hand.

"The things I give away don’t make their way back to me."

Lu Wanwan sighed with relief inwardly, thinking it seemed she might finally escape his torment.

"If you gave it to me, it’s mine to dispose of as I please," she said, and without waiting for his response, she picked up the card, turned, and walked out of the office.

Gu Annan watched her callous departure, realizing she didn’t want to spend even half a minute longer here.
