Mr Bodyguard, Protect Your Heart!-Chapter 188: HER SELFISH WISHES

As soon as Dove heard Gavi say that, she froze, as she looked at the two of them. Her eyes travelled from Gavi to Dante and the back to Gavi, as she realised that they had indeed unknowingly twinned together.

Her eyes then fell on the mirror and from where she was standing, from that angle she could she the reflection of the three of them, with her standing a little behind.

Dove stunned for a couple of second’s as she looked at their reflection. And no matter if she wanted to believe it or not, but in her heart she couldn’t help but feel that they indeed looked like a family of three.

’Only if it were true..." And before her mind could entertain any more crazy ideas she shook her head back to her senses.

There was no point in entertaining these baseless ideas when she knew that thinking these would unintentionally increase her expectations, that shouldn’t at all exist in the first place.

Meanwhile, when she had averted her gaze from them, she missed out the way Dante’s intense gaze fell on her. And his eyes, did not miss the way her skin caught colour.

On the other hand, Gavi who was perched on Dante’s arms, he chuckled and whispered, "Mom looks shy." Then turning towards Dante, he winked at him, as said smugly, "You owe me one, Mr Uncle Lancaster." He said with mock professionalism.

Dante chuckled and winked back at him.

And then soon after that, they left for the restaurant. The three of them did not talk much with each other the whole ride, as each of them were busy with their own thing.

Gavi was watching a cartoon on his tablet. Dante was driving, while also keeping tabs on the documents that Calix was sending him about the meeting they were about to have with the investor.

And Dove? Though she physically looked like she was scrolling through her phone, her mind was evidently lost elsewhere.

Her thoughts went back to Dante, on why was he wearing this outfit. All of a sudden? Dove wasn’t judging on how he decided to dress, in fact he was looking really attractive. But why all of a sudden? Did he think that he would be joining the dinner? Did he think that he was also invited? But as far as she remembered, she did not outright say anything like that.

Did he just assume?

Dove’s lips curved downwards , as she did not know what to feel about it. Though, it was also true that Lisa had indeed said that Dante was also welcomed if she wanted to bring him along. But did Dove really wanted that?

Honestly, if Dove were to peek into her heart, they maybe yes. Yes, she did want to go to dinners with Dante. She did want to be seen with him. She wanted people to see them together, and associate them together. She wanted them to see him by her side. She wanted to introduce him to Lisa.

But all these were her own selfish wishes.

She knew that wishing these things, when Dante had his own person in his heart would be unfair to him. Also, it would bring nothing but hurt to her.

But now, if he had already assumed that I would bring him with me, that wouldn’t it be very rude and embarrassing to tell him that he should not come with us. Especially when he has been nothing but good to her and Gavi, and when he looked this good.

Sighing Dove just let it be. She just decided to not say anything. And by that, she also remembered that, Lisa had not met Dante yet. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Though, it feels really awkward to think about introducing Dante as just her bodyguard, when he was literally the CEO of one of the leading businesses in the world.

Sighing, she let out a sigh.

After a few minutes, she phone rang, and it was a call from Lisa.

She immediately answered the call, and came Lisa’s cripping voice from the other side of the call, "Darling~ where are you? I have already reached and I am in the parking area right now."

Dove looked outside, as she spoke, "Oh? You are already there? We are.." she tried to determine the place they were currently so that she could answer her friend. But because the car was in constant motion, and also because Dove wasn’t really familiar with this side of the city, she couldn’t answer at once. And at that time, Dante who was driving, answered, "We are almost there. And will be there in two minutes."

Dove did not have to relay that message as Lisa heard his voice clear through the phone. And the next second, she laughed and squealed, "Hey, Dovey! Is that your handsome bodyguard’s voice which I heard just now?!"

Dove coughed lightly clearing her throat before she double checked her phone if it was on handset mode, and instantly lowered the volume even more. She did not want Dante to hear her friend’s swooning tone. Won’t it be awkward?

"Uhm, yes." She answered vaguely. But on the other side, Lisa laughed without restraint, almost scaring away the other people who were moving beside her.

"Hahaha! You confirm that he is handsome, that he is also a good person who keenly looks after you and that little devil. And now that person also has this sexy voice. Tell me, Dovey have you already gotten a crush on this man yet or not?"

Heat instantly crept on her face hearing her friend tease her like that. And trying her best to act nonchalant, she cleared her throat again and said, "Let’s not talk about all these now. We are already there." And she hung up the call, looking outside the window, after winding down the glasses, allowing the air outside to touch her face. So that the heat that had creped up on her face, settles back down.
