Monster Integration (Web Novel)-Chapter 3742 Monster Horde
"The numbers are increasing faster than the Sky Sovereigns have guessed," said the Red-Hawk Beastwomen beside me, sounding faintly worried.
It had been eight days since we left the hole, and we were three days away from our destination.
The journey had been smooth, with many leaving and joining. Though that might end today, with a horde of monsters behind us.
Three days ago, the monsters started gathering behind us. It has been happening since the first day, but these monsters would leave, and a new world followed, but now monsters are not leaving, their numbers have reached over the thousands.
The Sky Sovereigns in the morning had said, we will fight them today, and we have decided on the spot, that will give us maximum advantage.
Though the monsters might attack us before that.
It is not like; we didn't try to attack them to disperse the horde. We did, but the bastards quickly ran away before gathering again.
It is due to it. We have gathered so close that now instead of hundreds of meter, there is barely a meter space between us.
I looked at the monsters on the ground and in the sky and for a moment, I couldn't help but feel fear. I am not scared of the monsters. As long as Sky Sovereign Monsters didn't attack me, I will be fine.
I nodded while my soul waves continuously kept an eye on the monsters, which I was very sure would attack us before we reached our destination.
RAORRRRR!
I had just thought that when a loud roar rang out from the horde leader and the monster tide moved toward us.
"Fuck!"
The woman beside me cursed as the saber appeared in her hand. A red halberd appeared in mine, with its blade covering half of its length.
"Attack!" roared the Sky Sovereign and moved toward the leader, while other Sky Sovereign, moved toward other monsters, leaving thousands of Earth Sovereigns toward us.
I felt my heart beating wildly as I moved the monsters.
It had been over two years since I had fought anything and now quite excited to see, that I am finally getting it.
Crryyyy!
It took a second for the first monster to reach me. It is a two and half meters long blue-bird, with a pointy beak and large wings. It is a powerful monster, with sharp, invisible wind blades covering its wings, that could slice through anything.
The same for the beak. I could tell, that, it won't have any problem in snapping me in two if I got caught in it.
Burst 50%.
The power of the burst had filled me, and I swung my halberd toward the bird.
Crrrry!
It cried out and smoothly moved its wing to clash against my halberd. Seeing that, a smile couldn't help, but appear on my face.
Finally, there was less than a half-meter distance between me and the bird's wings. When I felt the powerful invisible wind covering the bird.
It is powerful and thicker than the metal. That most attacks would bluntly clash against it before repelled back. The bird will use that chance to quickly move its beak to deal with the prey.
Unfortunately, I am not its common prey, and my halberd is no common weapon.
The sharpness of enchantments lightened up, and the blade began to cut through the wind, despite the obvious resistance.
It alarmed the bird and poured further power into it, while it tried to move away, but it was far too late for that.
As my halberd had already reached its wings and begins to tear through it.
Pachac!
A wet sound rang out as my sword cut through the wing, before moving into the body and coming out of the other wind, cleaving the bird into two.
The shine begins to disappear from its eyes while its body falls down.
I quickly covered it with my power and pulled it into my core. I was never the one, to waste the body of the monster; there is always a use.
If not for me, then for the others.
I looked around and saw the people around me dealing with the birds just fine. Seeing that, I fell to the ground.
To be honest, I don't like fighting birds. I would fight ten land monsters, than a single bird. I don't know why that is, but I always enjoyed fighting the monsters on the ground than the bird.
It is the exact opposite when it comes to Grimms with wings; I loved to fight them.
However, there is a clear reason for that, their rarity. They are a lot less winged Grimms.
ROARRRR!
The wolf monster on the ground roared and sent the barrage of lightning toward me, while I swung my sword toward it.
Tearing through it, till I had reached the monster.
Pachac!
I decapitated it before it could move away. I collected its body and moved toward the other wolves; there were tens of them with their two leaders being at the Sky Sovereign stage.
They are fighting against the stone-skin Sky Sovereign.
Pachack!
Soon, I reached another lightning wolf and decapitated it, before moving toward another and killing it too.
These monsters are powerful, but I am not weak. Especially since I came out of the hole. Every day my strength is rising as I make that absorbed life-force mine.
It is also my method; they are helping tremendously with that.
It is not even a peak of strength; there is a still weak or more for that, before I finish absorbing all that life force, when that happens; I will be less than a step away from reaching the limit.
Hun!
I killed several wolves, before stopping and moving away.
I felt the gaze of the Sky Sovereign wolf and I don't want to be too close to them. The Sky Sovereign fighting them is strong, but not strong enough to finish them quickly.
Those wolves will only need a single, single long-range attack to finish me off. That is a risk, I am unwilling to take.
