Chapter 400: Chapter 400: Seventy Percent, Complete!!

Near the edge of the Ancient Forest, close to the Great Ravine, a nearly crushing battle was taking place at this very moment.

At this moment, Logan was fighting one against two, simultaneously battling a Bazelgeuse and a Deviljho.

And on this battlefield, several Zinogre corpses lay scattered nearby.

Originally, this battlefield had been the site where the Deviljho was attempting to hunt a Zinogre. However, the Zinogre being hunted had called several other companions that were hunting nearby to come together and deal with the Deviljho’s predation.

At first, the Deviljho had no particularly good way to deal with so many Zinogre, and under the coordinated efforts of these Zinogre, it had even been preparing to withdraw.

As a result, the Bazelgeuse that heard the sounds of battle suddenly joined the battlefield. Under a round of frenzied bombardment, the Zinogre pack could only abandon several corpses and flee the battlefield.

Afterward, the Bazelgeuse, believing those Zinogre to be its own spoils, and the Deviljho—which said nothing and buried its head to start eating—once again fought each other.

Logan, who had originally been following the Bazelgeuse and arrived here, saw this and directly charged into the battlefield, unleashing full firepower and suppressing the two wyverns in an almost crushing manner, beating them until they could not raise their heads.

As large numbers of Logan’s scales shot out and landed on the Bazelgeuse’s body, triggering explosion after explosion, the Bazelgeuse that was trying to take flight was directly blasted back to the ground once again.

Struggling to raise its head, the Bazelgeuse looked at the explosive scales that were being swept down rapidly by a whirlwind, turning crimson under blue-purple flames, and always felt that this method of attack seemed somewhat familiar.

Meanwhile, the Deviljho entered its Dragon element energy state and, in powerless rage, spewed a slow-trajectory Dragon element breath toward Logan, only to be forcibly suppressed in reverse by a clustered breath from Logan carrying the Sheer Force ability.

Carrying Terastal energy, an ultra-high-temperature beam that almost concentrated and detonated all of the subsequent energy of the flames instantly pierced through its lower jaw, melting a hole straight through the jaw that the Deviljho took pride in, which was filled with serrated teeth.

Even with the Deviljho’s self-healing ability, whether this hole could recover in the future was still a serious question.

Of course—on the premise that it can still have an "after"!!

Pure strength suppression, plus the advantage in size and flight, meant Logan would not end up in the awkward situation of being besieged like Darren, and there was no need for any close-quarters fighting either; relying purely on the massive gap in energy, after a round of unreasonable, frenzied bombardment—

The Deviljho and the Bazelgeuse held on only until their respective enhanced states ended. After losing combat power comparable to an Elder Dragon, they were swallowed up by the high-temperature Calamity Flame.

In this terrain that had been completely altered, being swallowed up like this by the lava pool burned out by the Calamity Flame—perhaps in the future, humans or some other intelligent species might even be able to dig out their fossils from here.

After dealing with these two "disasters" that liked to run around everywhere, and even deliberately pushed the forest’s chaos to an even higher level, Logan had originally planned to continue patrolling this region to ensure it truly returned to stability.

But just as he had spread his wings and flown up above the cloud layer, the interface panel that had been silent for a long time finally appeared once again.

That progress bar representing affinity with nature shifted forward ever so slightly, almost imperceptibly.

The sixty-nine percent progress instantly reached seventy percent.

In an instant, the energy nodes throughout Logan’s body, as well as Logan’s primary energy organ—the spines beside the corners of his mouth—began to grow hot.

This abundant energy that did not belong to this world finally, at this moment, began to intermix with the life energy within Logan’s body.

One side was analyzing and integrating the other, beginning to actively adapt to this world’s corresponding energy rules.

The other side, after being integrated, began—through this world’s unique energy reactions—to greatly strengthen the other side.

In the end, the two merged into one, and once again initiated a new round of "remodeling" on the host.

This unusual sensation made Logan realize something; relying on his own will, he forced down the progress of the remodeling that was underway.

His wings spread wide, and a turbine-like jet formed under his wings—created by the combination of Gale Wings and Calamity Flame.

From the outside, it looked as though Logan’s wings suddenly spewed out massive amounts of Calamity Flame, making him forcibly shift from flying by flapping his wings to turbine-propelled flight.

Beneath the enormous sonic boom cloud, Logan’s figure burst forward, scattering the white clouds, drawing a long trail of exhaust flame across the high sky as he sped rapidly toward the Ancient Tree.

After a long while, that trail of exhaust flame dissipated, and a band of clouds formed and then dispersed as the air void gathered and then scattered.

At this moment, a crimson figure abruptly streaked past. After shooting off into the distance, it seemed to notice something and, like a comet, folded back, ultimately coming to a steady halt beside the dissipating white clouds, gazing at those faint, intermittently visible traces in thoughtful silence.

However, the being that had shown signs of movement sensed the emptiness of Dragon energy within its body and ultimately abandoned the thought. After a brief turnabout, it once again departed in its original direction.

Only a single scale, having detached due to the excessive refraction speed, fell toward the forest below at an exaggerated velocity. No one knew which lucky individual it might collide with—one could only hope that this lucky individual would be fine.

...

On the Ancient Tree, Mother Chameleos, who had been staying there for several consecutive days, was currently using medicinal mist out of boredom to fertilize the plantation, promoting the growth of those medicinal plants.

She was extremely vexed!

Clearly knowing that there was big news on the Ancient Tree, yet being completely unable to get a taste of it.

Even with so many Radiant Fire Wyverns having returned, after a round of both coercion and inducement in probing for information, she still failed to obtain anything useful. It was basically the same as over at Blazefire Village: these Radiant Fire Wyverns only knew how to carry out tasks, and knew nothing else.

Mother Chameleos was resentful!

Resentful of Logan’s arbitrary decision-making, and resentful that he had actually explained nothing at all, yet still forcefully demanded that the subordinate wyverns carry out orders like this.

For Mother Chameleos, who had deeply studied the behavior patterns and management models of the Research Commission, and who—by virtue of her super intelligence—understood many of the rules of human society, this kind of behavior was completely "uncivilized and disorderly."

"Order Dragon, my ass—gwa!"

Mother Chameleos snorted coldly, spat out her long tongue, and curled it around a mandrake that had just been catalyzed, chewing it carefully.

The slightly bitter juice and the perfectly balanced toxicity were, for a Chameleos, not lacking as a delicacy.

Especially since it also fused the gentle life energy of the Ancient Tree and that faint, slightly tongue-stinging Terastal energy—just a single mandrake, purely in terms of flavor, was no less than a Max Potion!

The hard-working cats had long since grown accustomed to this. Every time Mother Chameleos and her offspring came to the Ancient Tree, they directly took up residence in the plantation, eating and taking as they pleased.

If not for the fact that Mother Chameleos could accelerate the maturation of these plants, allowing the cats’ gains to exceed their losses, the cats would have gone to complain to Logan long ago!

Just as Mother Chameleos was full of resentment, eating while grumbling about Logan—

Like a meteor, Logan streaked across the sky and directly plunged into the top of the Ancient Tree.

That tremendous impact startled every living creature on the Ancient Tree, and over a hundred Radiant Fire Wyverns rapidly flew toward the summit.

But accompanied by a familiar dragon roar, the disturbance on the Ancient Tree quickly subsided once more.

Mother Chameleos widened her eyes as she looked over there, hurriedly swallowed the medicinal plant in her mouth, and beat her wings as she flew over at full speed.

Her curiosity truly could not be held back any longer!!
