Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 192: The Trio Faeries’ Journey to the North (II)
"Wha! What did you see, Keke?!" Crush Tutu and Bold Dodo asked at the same time.
"It’s a summit with weird trees..." Jan Keke tried to describe it because it looked really bizarre from afar. "Uhm... it’s like those tree branches are reaching toward each other and creating a very long spiral bridge to the peak. It’s definitely unnatural, so there must be someone manipulating those trees!"
"Oh! That must be our Darling!" Crush Tutu claimed immediately. "To be able to control the plants on an entire summit means she must be very strong!"
"We’re finally close to her! Let’s go!" Bold Dodo was also excited since they had been on a long journey to the north. "But do you think our darling can see us?"
"What are you talking about? She is our darling! Of course she can see us and take care of us!" Tutu claimed. "Now let’s go. Let’s find our darling and bring her home!"
"But what if our darling doesn’t want to go home, Tutu?" Jan Keke asked as she went down to her friends again. "I saw a big civilization under that summit. But it’s definitely not a human kingdom, because it’s too deep inside Roc Forest. Maybe it’s a beastman kingdom?"
"But my Grandpa said our darling is a half human-faerie. What is she doing inside a beastman kingdom?" Crush Tutu frowned, then tried to brush it off. "Ah, that doesn’t matter. Let’s just meet her for now and talk to her. She might not even know about her identity!"
"Alright, let’s go!"
The trio of faeries were exhausted before, but they soon regained their vigor when they got the hope of finally meeting their darling—their queen!
Crush Tutu, Jan Keke, and Bold Dodo marched together toward the Beast Kingdom without worry, since no adult should be able to see them.
**
"Wow, what is this?" Jan Keke asked as they slipped through the half-open gate and entered the Beast Kingdom.
They were shocked to see a female cheetah beastman chatting with a female lion beastman as if they were good friends.
Despite their childlike appearances, the faeries’ lifespan was a lot longer than any other species, including beastmen, who generally had the shortest lifespan as most died at the age of seventy, while humans could reach a hundred if they were lucky.
Tutu, Keke, and Dodo had visited and played with many beastman cubs, and they usually lived in separate tribes based on their own species.
So it was very strange to see a lion and a cheetah beastman laughing while walking toward a store together.
They couldn’t help but gasp many times as they kept walking through the crowded street, because everything they witnessed clashed with the idea of how beastmen lived.
There were beastmen of various species in the street, either talking to each other or simply greeting one another without showing any hostility.
They were also shocked to see mortal rivals like the snake and honey badger beastmen laughing together while drinking ale.
They also saw predator and prey, like deer and wolf beastmen, doing fair transactions in the market.
Everything was so bizarre for the faeries, who had never left the faerie land. Jan Keke was so scared by how abnormal everything was that she quickly hugged the big guy Bold Dodo and asked, "W-what is this? Why are they so peaceful? I thought our elders said beastmen tribes would never unite because they only care for their own tribe."
"I-I don’t know, Keke. But our darling is somewhere in here, so we must find her and bring her back," Crush Tutu tried to calm her friend. "Maybe these beastmen evolved after hundreds of years and now act like humans instead?"
"Does that mean they are enslaving humans?" Bold Dodo asked. "What if our darling got enslaved by these beastmen, since she is half human..."
"Dodo!" Crush Tutu and Jan Keke reprimanded him immediately.
"I-I’m just asking..." Dodo deflated as he got scared by his friends’ angry gazes.
"That’s impossible. Our darling is very strong. She’s probably the queen of this kingdom!" Crush Tutu claimed.
"But how are we able to find her? There are beastmen everywhere!"
"Hold on, maybe we can find a beastman cub who can see us. Then we can ask them if they’ve seen our darling!" Crush Tutu suggested.
"Okay, let’s do that!"
The trio of faeries looked around to find an unattended beastman cub, since it was impossible to talk to them while they were with their parents.
Then, they spotted an owl beastman nestling, probably around four years old, who was resting alone in his room, dozing off, as owls were nocturnal and only active at night.
They flew into the room through the half-open window and whispered to each other while staring at the owl nestling.
"Do you think he can give us any information?"
"I don’t know. But let’s just ask..."
"What if he thinks we’re just mosquitoes?"
"We’re not that small!"
"Okay, okay, calm down and let me wake him up first, alright?" Crush Tutu finally took the initiative to fly down and circle around the owl nestling.
The toddler owl grunted when he felt something circling around his head, so he opened his eyes slowly and almost screamed when he saw a little winged creature only the size of an adult thumb flying around him while leaving a trail of gold dust behind her.
"Hey, hey, can you see me?" Crush Tutu asked.
The owl toddler’s eyes followed the faerie’s flight path until he nodded slowly. "Are you... a faerie?"
"Oh! So you know about us?" Bold Dodo and Jan Keke went down immediately and flew around the boy.
"Mm, my Papa told a story about faeries. He said good boys will see faeries in their room. Does that mean I’m a good boy?" the owl asked with his innocent eyes.
"You sure are! But to be a good boy, you need to help others, right?" Crush Tutu continued her persuasion. "That’s why we came here, because you are a good boy who can help us!"
