Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 185: A Tiger’s Heartache (III)
"Infiltrate? I thought our plan was to destroy the Beast Kingdom. Why are we doing something else now?" Leah rolled her eyes.
"We cannot destroy that kingdom with only the two of us, but an entire army could help," Marik said while walking toward the direction of the human kingdom.
"We will disguise ourselves as a pair of husband and wife who got attacked by beastmen in Roc Forest. We will say that these beastmen were working together as a team, and they came from a newly formed kingdom called the Beast Kingdom. They plan to take control over the entire Roc Forest, and then attack the human kingdom once they are strong enough.
Once we say that, the ruler of that human kingdom will be worried and send a few soldiers to check on the Beast Kingdom. We can act as guides and bring them here, and they’ll probably die at that point—and that’s all we need."
"Oh!" As if a light bulb lit up above her head, Leah finally caught on to the plan. "And if those human soldiers die, then the king will be alerted and send his troops to attack the Beast Kingdom, right?"
"Yes, we can whittle Kael down until he’s exhausted by all the wars, and then we can do something like burn down his treasury so he won’t have any more money to maintain the kingdom," Marik continued with his plan. "At that point, it’d be easy to take him down, especially if we can get Jojo and Sisi as hostages."
"Oh! You’re a genius, Boss! With Sisi and Jojo in our hands, it wouldn’t be hard to make Kael kill himself!" Leah added. "Then, once Kael kills himself, we can kill them both, and then we can rule the Beast Kingdom!"
Hearing it come out of Leah’s mouth made Marik want to slap her right across the face.
How dare she plan to hurt Sisi and Jojo, the two most important people in his life?!
Unfortunately, all he could do right now was stay silent because he needed this bitch.
But once he got his hands on both Sisi and Jojo, all he needed to do was kill Leah and then leave with them, starting anew somewhere far in the Jing Forest. He would raise their cubs with Sisi and live in peace until they died of old age.
’Just this time. All I need is to make this a success, and then I can finally get the life I’ve always dreamed of,’ Marik told himself.

The impact of Kael’s announcement was massive, as everyone at the spring festival—both inside and outside of the palace—were talking about it.
And from those talks, a few arguments and debates popped up.
"Why should we get ruled by weak humans? They can’t even defend themselves without weapons, and they will always lose against us beastmen in any one-on-one duel!" a fiery youth declared. "I refuse to be ruled by a human!"
"Okay then, go on and tell the Beast King about it, and let’s see what will happen to you next," his friend, who seemed to be much calmer and more logical, said.
The fiery youth deflated instantly the moment the king was mentioned. Of course, nobody dared to voice their protest against the Beast King.
If those high-ranked beastmen in the court couldn’t do anything about it, then the common folk had even less power to do so.
Besides, there had been no complaints so far about the livelihood in the kingdom. They were prospering far more than when they were just small beast tribes scattered all across Roc Forest.
The logical youth sighed. "Honestly, I don’t see any problem with having a human as our new queen. She must have something that only the Beast King can see, and the fact that nobody in the high court voiced their disagreement means everyone already agreed upon it."
"Well, she is crazy beautiful, that I can see..." the fiery youth admitted. "Have you seen her? By the Goddess, I’ve sinned for looking at the king’s woman lustfully!"
"Haha! Well, I think every man who has seen her has had the same idea. But she is under the Beast King’s protection, which is the best possible outcome," his friend replied. "If she were with a much weaker man, her husband would be murdered in a matter of days."

Despite all the buzz, Sisi kept herself inside the Queen’s courtyard. She was busy bathing Jojo with warm water and patting him to sleep before continuing with her needlework, which kept getting interrupted.
As night fell, she checked on Jojo, who was fast asleep on her bed from time to time before returning to her chair and continuing her needlework.
She had been waiting for Diane to come with good news, and right before midnight, Diane finally knocked on the door and said, "Mistress, I’m here with her."
"Come in," Sisi instructed, and the door was opened from outside.
Sisi lifted her head and smiled thinly when she saw a woman standing behind Diane.
She looked much more fragile compared to her usual self, and the bandage wrapped around her neck made it even more obvious that she had just passed through a critical condition that almost took her life.
Sisi thought that it would take a while for Ruela to recover from her grievous injury, but it seemed her will to live was too strong, so she could still get up and walk after regaining consciousness.
Diane and Ruela walked into the main chamber and faced Mistress Sisi. Ruela dared not to lift her head the whole time, as Diane did all the talking.
"I listened to the physician and the doctor. They said that Ruela’s will to live is really strong, so her body recovered rather quickly. They said she can leave, but she’s not allowed to do heavy work until her wound is fully healed.
I told her that she needs to meet with Mistress Sisi in the morning if she’s able to walk, but she insisted on coming as soon as possible."
