Mommy Alert! The CEO Daddy Won't Stop Courting-Chapter 400 Melody Parker Visits Lisa in Prison
Polly: "Mother, I..."
Eli reached out and patted Polly’s shoulder, giving her a reassuring look, signaling her not to say any more.
She herself looked at Lisa and said, "Mother, you may not be able to accept this right now, and I understand. But whether it is my sister’s death or everything in Whitehill, none of it should be blamed on Princess Butterfly. Please think it over, it’s better to resolve conflicts than to create them. I’ve said my piece, and regardless of your decision, I will always be your daughter and fulfill my filial duties."
After speaking, she looked at Polly, "Polly, let’s go."
...
Melody Parker has been trying to find ways these days to appease Adrian Davies, hoping to make him less angry, to make him stop keeping a cold face and be a little happier.
But clearly, the results were not great.
Since Muir said those words that day, Adrian has been keeping a straight face, and every day he’s been asking Melody Parker when she plans to leave him.
On this day, Melody Parker continued to try to console Adrian Davies.
She held the man’s waist, smiling brightly as she looked at him, directly asking: "Adrian, I’ve been trying to make you happy for days on end. What do you want to be happy, so you won’t dispute with my daddy?"
Adrian looked at the woman, his face stern as he spoke: "Hmph! Not satisfied. Your daddy dared to say you should leave me and marry Neal Galan. How can I not hold it against him? Or is that what you think too, thinking of marrying that Galan for Whitehill?"
Hearing Adrian’s words, Melody Parker couldn’t help but get a bit angry.
She put away her smile, trying to suppress her anger as she said: "Adrian, even if you’re jealous, shouldn’t there be a limit? Didn’t I make it clear to daddy that day? I never believe in destiny, and I will never marry Neal!"
"Hmph!" Adrian was still angry.
He looked at Melody Parker, his attitude unchanged as he spoke: "That’s my bottom line, he’s crossed it, nothing you say will help! If it wasn’t for the fact that he’s your biological father, I wouldn’t have been so polite."
In truth, Adrian isn’t completely impossible to appease; it’s just that the words Melody Parker said when acting coy weren’t the ones Adrian truly wanted to hear.
If Melody Parker could say to Adrian, ’Adrian, I love you, and I’ll never leave you, not even my father can break us apart,’ something like that, Adrian’s anger would have subsided long ago, one would think.
Unfortunately, Melody Parker just tried to appease him by telling him she doesn’t believe in destiny and won’t marry Neal, yet she never said such vows.
"What else do you want to do to him?" Melody Parker glared and released her hand from Adrian’s waist, "Forget it, since I can’t appease you no matter what, I’m not going to bother trying."
With that said, Melody Parker left, "I’m going to check on the kids, and you can stay here and sulk."
Adrian grabbed Melody Parker, stopping her from leaving.
He gazed intensely at Melody Parker, speaking coldly: "Melody, is this all the patience you have for me?"
Melody Parker was quite speechless.
After how long she’d been trying to pacify him, what more does he want?
Moreover, he, a decisive and powerful CEO, always letting her soothe him as if he were a child, is that really okay?
Wouldn’t he feel like his character is collapsing, that the image of the cold CEO is disappearing, leaving him embarrassed and losing face?
Alright, maybe she was overthinking it.
This man’s image in front of her has long since broken down countless times, and the cold CEO image is long gone, so how could he feel embarrassed or lose face!
Melody Parker didn’t speak, and Adrian continued to coldly inquire: "Melody, when are we leaving?"
"Where to?" Melody Parker didn’t react immediately.
Adrian replied coldly, "Back to River City."
This man again!
Melody Parker looked at Adrian, speaking warmly: "I want to spend time with my father."
"No!" Adrian refused, his attitude firm.
After speaking, he directly announced overbearingly: "We’re leaving tomorrow!"
Melody Parker was quite helpless, "Alright!"
Leaving is leaving, at worst she can return after some time has passed.
Melody Parker withdrew her hand, "I’m going to check on the kids."
With that said, she turned and left.
Although she thought she could leave and return after some time, she was still somewhat unhappy with Adrian’s forcefulness in making her return to River City now.
She could understand Adrian’s emotions, understand that he’s bothered by what her father said, and know that he was afraid she might stay in Whitehill forever, thus bound by familial ties, to do something like taking over Whitehill, or following destiny and marrying Neal Galan.
But understanding aside, anger was anger.
Melody Parker went to the children’s room, staying there for a long time, until both children fell asleep, then she left their room.
After leaving the children’s room, she didn’t return immediately to her room but went to the prison where Lisa was held.
Since they were leaving tomorrow, she still needed to see those she ought to see.
When Melody Parker appeared in the prison, Lisa was curled up on the hard prison bed, shivering as she slept.
Upon hearing the prison door open, Lisa slowly opened her eyes.
Seeing the person who entered, Lisa’s eyes immediately filled with a vindictive glare.
She viciously looked at Melody Parker, "What are you doing here? To see my downfall? Or to kill me and avenge Una?"
Melody Parker approached Lisa, looking at her with an imposing aura, "Rest assured, I won’t kill you. Because you’re not worth it, and killing you would dirty my hands. Leaving you here to atone for your deeds far outweighs killing you."
Lisa stood up, meeting Melody Parker’s gaze, "What? Do you think by not killing me, I’ll be grateful to you? Do you think you’re victorious over me now? Haha, let me tell you, as long as I’m alive, you and your mother will one day die at my hands."
"That also depends on whether you can get out of here," Melody Parker stood there in a noble purple gown, exuding queenly aura from within.
Looking at Lisa in comparison, in front of Melody Parker, she was just a pitiful creature barely clinging to life.
Lisa looked at Melody Parker hatefully, shouting: "Bastard, you and your mother are both lowly! My bloodline is noble, my family prosperous..."
"Is that so? Yet here I stand, while you can only remain in this dark, grim prison to atone for your sins!" Melody Parker replied coldly, looking at Lisa.
