Modern World Warlock-Chapter 230: North Dispatch
The following morning, the Omega Team met with Asphodel in the manor's backyard, and Laurent and Claudia were present as well.
The Vampire Mother explained that the best way to reach the nest was by air, so flying was preferable. However, neither Zac, Megan, nor Alice could fly.
For that reason, Asphodel asked her two vampire lord children to accompany the Omega Team and help carry the non-fliers to the ghouls' nest.
Dante believed it was a good idea, as having two strong vampires supporting them wouldn't harm their mission. In fact, it would allow them to finish it quicker.

Laurent and Claudia extruded bat-like wings from their backs, making them look formidable and confident. This prompted Dante to cast his "Wings of the Fallen" spell and release his black, feathered wings.
Asphodel chuckled in admiration after seeing Dante's spell.
"Lucifer's wings always look so beautiful," the Vampire Mother commented.
'Wait… Who!?' Zac pondered.
For a self-proclaimed fantasy enthusiast like Zac, the name "Lucifer" was very well-known.
Thinking about the name of the spell—Wings of the Fallen—the redhead was able to connect the dots.
'Feathered black wings… Like those of a fallen angel!' Zac thought, proud of himself for figuring it out.
The redhead's curiosity started to rise, wanting to ask the warlock if he had defeated or made a deal with the fallen angel. Nonetheless, he read the room and understood it wasn't the time for inquiries.
Dante carried Megan in his arms, Laurent was paired with Zac, and Claudia had Alice with her. Once they were safely secured, they took to the skies and made their way out of the manor.
Since it was still daytime, the flying individuals weren't in a rush to get there, as they wanted to start their attack closer to nighttime for the vampires to be at their full strength.
After flying for an hour, the area of Lowrock became visible in the distance, prompting the group's descent and landing at the top of a hill overlooking the territory.
The nest was right beside the foot of the mountain range, which allowed Dante's group to look out for their enemies from much higher ground comfortably.
"A nest outside in the open like this…?" Dante pondered aloud.
When they looked down, they could see dozens of ghouls walking aimlessly around the same area, with a much denser group gathered in the center around a strange structure that seemed to be made of flesh.
"A ghoul spawner? Goddamit, Netherius…" the warlock continued.
Sensing his group's uncertainty, Dante explained that a "ghoul spawner" was exactly what it sounded like—a structure made of dead bodies that would periodically create new ghouls.
"It's a small one, so we are pretty lucky," Dante said.
A small spawner could only produce a ghoul every twelve hours, while the more potent ones could create several ghouls every few minutes.
Still, making a large spawner required a lot of dead bodies and energy, so it wouldn't be efficient for Netherius to have them placed so far away from his territory that he couldn't fully defend it.
"So, do you think this is a trap?" Megan inquired.
"I don't know if it's a trap or just an inconvenience…" Dante replied.
Netherius was powerful enough to create a small spawner for the sake of bringing chaos to other cities, so it wouldn't be out of character for him to place one in a conspicuous place to catch their attention.
"Even if it's a trap, we should probably clear the place, no?" Claudia asked, crossing her arms.
"Well, yeah… Anyone here shouldn't find it difficult to destroy the spawner. There is a large number of ghouls, but not enough for them to be a big problem," Dante explained.
"I'm more worried about those two androids…" he continued, pointing at the two figures in the distance down below.
Standing a few meters away from the horde of ghouls, two individuals stood tall with unmoving poses. Their appearances were of a man and a woman, but their lack of energy flowing from their bodies gave away their identities to Dante.
"I have no idea how strong those guys are… Guys? Machines?" Dante wondered, unsure of what to even call them.
"We should assume they have a scanner integrated into their system… Meaning we shouldn't get closer unless we are ready to engage," Alice commented, catching the warlock's attention.
"Have you fought androids before, Miss Alice?" Dante asked.
"The Azure Rebels gifted some of their old models to the police department a long time ago, so I familiarized myself with their features… Still, those two are on a whole different level," Alice explained.
The androids that were donated to the police department were humanoid machines with no facial features. They had a dark gray metallic frame, and their speech was limited to a few sentences.
Anyone could tell at a glance that the donated androids were machines compared to the newer models they were looking at, which resembled an ordinary human from afar.
If a person got close enough to an android and exchanged a few words with them, it would be easier to tell they weren't human. Nonetheless, Alice could see the evident upgrades in their models as it got more difficult to differentiate them.
"I mean… I can tell they aren't human due to their lack of umbra. I'm familiar with the concept of 'androids' now, so I could differentiate them without much trouble," said Dante.
"The issue is I can't figure out what they are thinking… For someone who relies on energy detection in their fights, it's pretty confusing," he continued.
'Hmm, this might be a good time for me to practice my other senses…' Dante thought.
After thinking for a bit, the warlock decided to split into two teams of three. He would be joining Megan and Alice in fighting the two androids while Zac and the two vampires faced the ghouls and destroyed the spawner.
They had to wait until sunset for the vampires to be in top shape, and as they remained vigilant, a third android joined the opponents mere minutes before nightfall, with his body frame looking much wider than the other two.
