Chapter 692: To The Capital

A staff member in gray uniform pointed at the silver-haired man. "Is there a problem here? Please stop, No disruptions."

The man straightened immediately.

He turned polite in one breath. "Of course. I’m just educating them."

The staff didn’t care. "Step into the line."

The silver-haired man went first, still smirking like he won.

A scanning light swept across his body.

A holographic panel appeared above the circle, showing his identity data.

The staff read it.

"Name: Rovan Varn. Status: Relocated Citizen. Grade: C."

The smirk froze.

Rovan’s eyes widened. "What? That’s wrong. I’m House Varn. B-grade."

The staff didn’t even look up. "Your family is registered as C-grade residents. No noble status recognized on Proxima."

Rovan’s face flushed. "My uncle..."

"Next," the staff said.

Rovan clenched his fists but didn’t dare to argue further. He held out his wrist.

The staff slapped a bracelet onto him.

Click.

"This is your id on planet proxima," the staff said. "Do not remove it. It must be worn at all times. It have many features, please read the tutorial. Don’t forget tampering will result in immediate detention."

Rovan swallowed.

He stepped out of the circle, eyes darting around, suddenly smaller than before.

Alex stepped forward next.

Rovan’s eyes landed on him, and some hope returned. He was thinking, at least this guy will be lower than me.

Alex stepped into the circle.

The scan swept over him.

The staff looked at the panel.

Then paused.

They tapped their tablet, then looked up at Alex.

"Edward Reiner," the staff said.

The staff pressed a button under the counter.

A soft tone rang out.

A second staff member walked over, whispered something, then nodded.

The first staff member’s voice became formal.

"General Kael is waiting for both of you."

The entire lane went quiet.

Rovan’s pupils shrank.

The staff gestured to the VIP side. "Pleas go trough this line. Follow the yellow path. Your bracelet will be issued there with A grade clearance."

Rovan’s mouth opened, then closed.

His face went pale so fast it looked like all the blood drained out at once.

He stumbled forward a step. "W-Wait..."

Alex stepped out of the circle without looking at him.

Rovan’s pride shattered.

He rushed forward, and knelled. "Sir, I... I spoke without thinking. Please forgive me. I didn’t know you were..."

Mingyue glanced at him. Her eyes were cold enough to kill him.

Rovan swallowed hard. "Please. I’m just trying to survive here. I didn’t mean it."

Alex finally looked at him.

"Let’s go, he’s waste of time."

Rovan’s shoulders shook. "I..."

Alex turned away.

"Count your luck, we meet here, next time we meet I will make sure to take one of your limbs," MingYue said.

Rovan stood there, frozen, while the line moved around him like water.

Alex and Mingyue followed the yellow path.

The VIP lane was almost empty.

It had a separate counter. With completely different atmosphere

The different is like going to airport at economy class and First class.

A senior staff member greeted them with a warm smile.

"Sir, please stood there," the staff said.

A scan swept over Alex again.

The bracelet clicked onto his wrist, this one darker, with a thin gold line running through the metal.

"Sir, This bracelet will serve as your main terminal," the staff said, than begin slowly explaining the feature.

It work just like smartphone with far superior technology.

Alex could browse, watch Universe tube, record his surrounding in high resolution.

But all of this pale down compared to it’s two unique feature.

First it could detect someone qi, if they use it on forbidden area it will send warning to nearby police.

This give them quick respond if something dangerous happened.

But as he’s A grade his limit is higher than those with the lower grade.

The second is information infusion. Trough the bracelet terminal they could acess proxima marketplace.

If he buy a cultivation technique, the infromation will directly transfered to his mind.

The staff explained cleary how the process works.

The user need to put down their guard first, otherwise the device will not be able to infuse any informatin.

As he’s A grade he got special privilege to request a physical copy of the technique he purchase.

This way they could avoid the informatin infusion process.

"Sire, your A-grade access will require final confirmation. This will usually took 48 hours."

Mingyue received hers next, a identical bracelet.

The staff handed them two thin cards. "Sir General Kael has been informed he’s waiting on his personal Shuttle. Gate Twelve. Departure in eight minutes."

Alex pocketed the cards.

They walked through a luxurious corridor toward the shuttle gates.

It didn’t take long before the staff brought them to the boarding area.

The shuttle body was sleek and dark, with silver lines running along the hull like veins.

The entrance ramp was wide, lined with soft lights.

Two guards stood on both sides, in fitted uniforms with formation woven into the fabric.

A man waited at the ramp.

General Kael.

He looked the same as the last time Alex saw him.

Only now he wear as suit.

Kael stepped forward.

He shook Alex’s hand first. Then he shook Mingyue’s.

"Welcome to Proxima," Kael said. "We’ll talk later."

He turned his head slightly. "All of you, leave."

The staff and guards didn’t hesitate. They moved away at once, stepping back behind the gate barrier.

Kael walked into the shuttle with them.

The ramp sealed.

The shuttle lifted off smoothly, rising past the docking ring and angling toward the planet.

Through the window, Proxima’s surface grew clearer.

Cities spread like webs of light along the coasts. Tall clusters of towers pierced the clouds.

Many shuttles crossed the sky, moving like insects in a controlled hive.

In the distance, a massive city sat on a wide plain near a river that shone like a silver thread.

Kael glanced at the display.

"We are going to Aurelia Prime. The Capital of this Centauri Proxima"

The shuttle accelerated toward it.

Only when the station was far behind them, did Kael finally talk again.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"I’m surprised Saryx sent a human as his representative."
