Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System-Chapter 655: Saryx Crazy Plan
"Olivia," Saryx repeated. "Why? You know her?"
Alex’s fingers tightened on the warhammer shaft.
Hearing the name come out from Saryx surprise him, but after some tough he realize there’s just no way it’s the same Olivia.
In a universe this big, the same name could exist everywhere.
Just how many have that name? Trillion?
Alex let out a short chuckle and shook his head. "No. The name is just familiar. It can’t be the one I’m thinking of."
Saryx watched him for a moment, then looked away as I doesn’t concern him.
"Then Let’s talk about the plan."
He took a few steps back and sat down on the grass. His body already begin healing.
Mingyue didn’t lower her swords.
She stood to the side, eyes locked on Saryx in case he make any move.
Saryx tilted his head up. "Aztaroth. Show them."
The air above them rippled.
A dark light gathered, then spread into a wide projection.
A region of space appeared. Planet and star appeared around them..
"This is Karthor Reach."
Alex’s touch one of the plane it’s big enough that he could fit it on his palm.
It have no sensation but the projection look very real.
Saryx pointed at a bright point near the center.
"The sun."
Then he pointed at several clustered points around it.
"These are the soul insect nests."
A line than appear connecting each nest creating a huge formation with the sun as the center.
Mingyue frowned. "Are you the one behind the sould insect appearance?"
Saryx smiled. "It’s not me, the sould insect is the one that create this on purpose. I just use the sun to modify their fromation."
He dragged his claw across the projection, and a second layer appeared, lines of formation paths linking the nests to the sun’s deeper region.
"With the sun as energy source, we will use it as catalyze to refined all these soul insect."
Alex’s gaze hardened. "Refine for what."
Saryx smiled and tapped the mining facility on the projection.
"Arachne Progenitor. The soul insect queen wants to consume it and rise into the new Arachne Progenitor. But with this formation, we reverse the process instead."
Mingyue’s grip tightened. "You want to feed them to the progenitor remains?"
Saryx nodded. "Aztaroth found the method."
He pointed to the sun’s inner layers on the projection.
"I pull the star’s energy."
Then he pointed to the clustered nests.
"I sacrifice the soul insects. Every last one."
The formation lines on the projection brightened, then turned darker, flowing toward the Arachne marker.
Alex’s eyes narrowed. "You’re trying to resurrect it."
"Yes," Saryx said, then let out a laugh.
"Don’t worry. It won’t resurrect completely. Based on my simulation, at best it will recover its body and start wrecking havoc in this system. It won’t have a sane mind."
Mingyue’s voice turned cold. "Let me get this straight. You want to release a progenitor-level being that can’t think and only wants to kill?"
Saryx’s smile widened. "Yes."
"Sure, what could go wrong?" Alex sneered, then his expression flipped.
"Are you insane? If it unleashes full progenitor power, not even you combined with us can defeat it."
"You worry too much," Saryx replied.
"Didn’t you hear what I said before? That representative, Olivia, beat all the dragon Overlords.
Without danger at that level, do you think she can even be wounded?"
"You want the progenitor to weaken her, then we ambush her afterward?" Mingyue asked.
"Of course," Saryx said. "Isn’t it obvious? Even then, our chance of winning won’t be more than fifty percent."
He looked up. "Aztaroth. What are our winning odds?"
A mechanical voice replied from above.
"Based on my calculation, the three of you combined have a thirty percent chance of beating her."
Saryx spread his hands. "See? Aztaroth is one of the most cutting-edge technologies in my Federation. Its calculations won’t be wrong."
Alex looked at Mingyue.
Both of them felt grim, but they also knew they only have few options.
If the Arachne Progenitor was unleashed, everyone living in this system would probably die.
And if it wasn’t contained, hundreds or thousands of star systems could be devoured before anyone took the necessary steps to stop it.
They could stop Saryx, but then they would still have to stop the soul insects.
A living, sane progenitor would be far more dangerous to deal with than a berserk one.
It would also change everything.
One more player entering the board.
"Rather than waiting for the fight to be over," Alex said, "the best way is to ambush her while she’s focused on fighting the progenitor."
If they could contain the fight to the mining facility, the loss of life wouldn’t be as catastrophic.
At least many more would be spared.
"If I could do that, I would," Saryx said. "But do you think that’s a level of fight we can interfere in?"
His eyes turned sharp.
"If you can give me the opportunity, I won’t hesitate. It would be best if we could let the progenitor finish her."
Mingyue frowned. "You underestimate the Primordials. Do you think they’ll do nothing when their representative is in danger?
And there’s still a possibility that a new progenitor resurrection will drag them here. Along with other strong beings that have been hiding in the shadows."
"In that case, it would be even better." Saryx laughed, then looked at Alex.
"Don’t you agree? You should know this possibility too. Yet you didn’t say anything about it."
"It’s not a possibility," Alex said. "It’s for sure. Whether they come personally or not, they’ll make a move.
But that’s good for us. Right now, getting information about them is hard. As long as they stay in the shadows, we learn nothing."
Alex’s eyes narrowed.
"That’s why it’s good to stir the pot and force their hand. At the very least, we can read the situation better."
He turned toward Saryx. "How about the dragon progenitor? Where is he?"
Saryx’s expression shifted slightly, less mocking.
"After the war, he went missing. Only three of his sons are left now. Two are part of the Overlord Council."
He lifted a claw and counted lazily.
"The other one? Barely any news. Last rumor says he’s living peacefully in some corner of the universe."
