"This is Karthos Reach Border Control. Identify yourself."
The ship’s identity code was already transmitted. The reply came fast.
"Confirmed. Clearance granted."
A short burst of static followed, then the operator spoke again.
"Warning for incoming supply ships. The situation has changed since your last route update.
The Hive has expanded. Multiple planets have been affected.
Mining routes are unstable.
Do not deviate from assigned path. If you lose signal, you’re on your own."
The operator paused, then let out a sigh.
"It’s New Year and we’re stuck here with trillions of bugs. At least the resupply finally came."
"Hei, turn off the comm first."
The line went quiet.
Alex’s let out a chukle. Mingyue’s shook her head.
A navigation route flashed onto their map, marked with bright warnings and red zones.
They moved.
The ship followed the route exactly. Every few minutes, another scan wave passed over them from a patrol craft.
"This ship is really helpful, it’s good choice we make a deal with Kael."
"It’s working but I don’t see any good with him. What a traitor."
In MingYue view person like Kael have almost no value.

Dock at the mining station.
Join the army moving down to the planet.
He didn’t want to confront the Hive directly.

If they notice him as potential talent, and try to recruit, thing will become complicated.
The mining station appeared ahead, a massive ring with long docking arms and rotating ore containers.
Formation plates were embedded into the metal.

Alex guided the ship in.
Magnetic locks clamped down with a heavy thud.

Two armed guards already stood there.

A loudspeaker repeated warnings about restricted sectors and emergency.
They reached a wide control hall with a tall glass wall overlooking the docking ring.
A man stood there with his hands behind his back, watching the traffic.
He wore a long coat over light armor. A badge marked his authority. His aura was strong.
Not at general kael level but still good enough to survive on the frontline.
He turned when Alex approached.
"You’re late."
Alex didn’t react to the tone. "Delay at the border."

Unfortunately he couldn’t confirm this, it’s all only theory till he could get his hand on real daolord cultivator.
But most of them is either a recluse or in high position in on the empire.
As for the emperor himself it’s rumored he’s in a another realm above the dao lord.
