Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System-Chapter 633: Karthos Reach
A spacesip move pass trough the warpgate.
Holographic words could be seen on top of the gate, "Karthos reach."
A line of defense platforms floated at the border.
Formation lights ran across their surface.
A scan beam swept over the hull.
Then another, slower one, checking into the cargo holds and the engine core.
Inside the cockpit, Alex hands relaxed on the controls. Mingyue watched the screen.
A moment later, the comm lit up.
"This is Karthos Reach Border Control. Identify yourself."
The ship’s identity code was already transmitted. The reply came fast.
"Confirmed. Clearance granted."
A short burst of static followed, then the operator spoke again.
"Warning for incoming supply ships. The situation has changed since your last route update.
The Hive has expanded. Multiple planets have been affected.
Mining routes are unstable.
Do not deviate from assigned path. If you lose signal, you’re on your own."
The operator paused, then let out a sigh.
"It’s New Year and we’re stuck here with trillions of bugs. At least the resupply finally came."
"Hei, turn off the comm first."
The line went quiet.
Alex’s let out a chukle. Mingyue’s shook her head.
A navigation route flashed onto their map, marked with bright warnings and red zones.
They moved.
The ship followed the route exactly. Every few minutes, another scan wave passed over them from a patrol craft.
"This ship is really helpful, it’s good choice we make a deal with Kael."
"It’s working but I don’t see any good with him. What a traitor."
In MingYue view person like Kael have almost no value.
No matter how much talented someone was, theres no use if they don’t have any loyalty.
They will betray anyone with the right price.
"Don’t worry, he will got his due in time. But getting clean registry id like this is not easy, so it’s still worth it.’
They reached the outer logistics dock.
Cargo drones swarmed them at once.
Mechanical arms latched onto the ship’s underside and opened the cargo locks.
Robots entered, lifted containers, and carried them out.
Alex and Mingyue didn’t go down. They didn’t even step into the main hold.
They let the robots do everything.
From the cockpit window, Alex watched the supply containers drift away, pulled by tractor beams toward the station’s storage arrays.
Mingyue glanced at him. "At least the system here is very effective."
"This place is exception, it’s far out in the border and the location is filled with danger. Everyone want to go out as soon as possible."
Alex know how much human love bureaucracy, and human empire is no exception.
In the main system they will need to pass so many check and permit just to dock in one planet.
"Bribe and more bribe that’s just how human society works."
Alex shook his head. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Not on mine." Minyue added.
"Well, exception always exist."
When the last container was removed, the cargo clamps released.
A new flight path appeared.
Mining Station: Halcyon-9.
Alex adjusted the course.
The ship moved deeper into the system.
Outside, the blue stars looked the same as always, but the traffic was different.
More patrol ships.
More emergency beacons blinking near the red zones.
Halfway there, they passed a planet that used to be residential planet.
Now it was dim.
Thin streaks of fire crossed its upper atmosphere like falling ash.
Mingyue’s eyes narrowed. "That planet is under siege."
Alex didn’t answer, he didn’t want to join the fight.
His plan was simple.
Dock at the mining station.
Join the army moving down to the planet.
He didn’t want to confront the Hive directly.
It’s not just about the hive but also the human empire.
Alex don’t want to show their strength if possible.
If they notice him as potential talent, and try to recruit, thing will become complicated.
The mining station appeared ahead, a massive ring with long docking arms and rotating ore containers.
Formation plates were embedded into the metal.
As they approached, another scan hit them.
The station’s defense grid opened a lane.
"Docking bay seventeen. Follow the guiding lights."
Alex guided the ship in.
Magnetic locks clamped down with a heavy thud.
The moment the airlock sealed, the station’s inner atmosphere hissed through the intake vents.
A few seconds later, the hatch opened.
Two armed guards already stood there.
Their armor looked like from sci-fi movies, but the spiritual pressure on their bodies was obvious.
They also don’t carry any gun.
One of them glanced at the ship’s registry display, then stepped aside.
"This way."
Alex and Mingyue walked out.
The corridor were made steel panel.
People moved fast, while avoiding looking at each other.
Repair crews pushed carts filled with parts.
Medics rushed past with stretchers.
A loudspeaker repeated warnings about restricted sectors and emergency.
They reached a wide control hall with a tall glass wall overlooking the docking ring.
A man stood there with his hands behind his back, watching the traffic.
He wore a long coat over light armor. A badge marked his authority. His aura was strong.
Not at general kael level but still good enough to survive on the frontline.
He turned when Alex approached.
"You’re late."
Alex didn’t react to the tone. "Delay at the border."
Meanwhile MingYue already judge his realm. ’Peak earth immortal stage.’
After the immortal realm, there’s earth immortal, than celestial immortal.
MingYue heard after this they will need to create their own dao, to become dao lord.
As for the dao itself, it appear when someone perfected their technique.
Alex speculated this dao appear when their secret technique where ingrained into their soul allowing them to use something a kin to lifeforce to raise their qi quality, allowing them to create dao symbol, reaching the realm of dao lord.
Unfortunately he couldn’t confirm this, it’s all only theory till he could get his hand on real daolord cultivator.
But most of them is either a recluse or in high position in on the empire.
As for the emperor himself it’s rumored he’s in a another realm above the dao lord.
