Kael knew the dragon prince was capable of doing something like this, but he believed the prince was not stupid.
There was something he was after.

Below, his men were still being bombarded.

Kael did not hesitate anymore.
He reached behind his storage ring and pulled out his spear.
The moment the weapon appeared, the air around him changed.
The shaft was dark metal with gold formation carved into it.
The spearhead looked simple, but the space around it warped slightly.
Kael inhaled once.
His cultivation erupted.
Golden light poured out of him. It was sharp and cold, like a blade.
His aura pressed down on the fores.
"Formation, fall back," Kael said,. "Hold the ground."
Then He took one step forward and vanished.
The next moment, he was already in the middle of the wyvern swarm.
His spear thrust out.
A line of light split the sky.
The spearhead traced a thin golden arc, and everything in its path was sliced apart.
Wings, scales, and blood scattered in the air.
A dozen wyverns were cut in half before they even seewhat hit them.
Kael did not stop.
He rotated his spear and drew a circle.
"Sky-Cleaving Wheel."
The golden arc expanded outward like a spinning ring.
Wyverns that tried to dive into him were shredded mid-flight.
Their bodies fell like broken kites, crashing through branches and shaking the forest.
Kael moved through the opening, straight upward.
He rode his sword only as a foothold, then kicked off it, using pure force to accelerate.
In not time, he climbed to the same level as the dragon prince.
Saryx watched him approach.
Kael slowed and hovered in front of him, spear held casually at his side.
He even gave a polite smile.
"Prince," Kael said, voice smooth.
"Could you stop joking? What do you want? If it's within my ability, maybe I can help."
Saryx looked him up and down slowly.
Then he smiled.
"I've heard about you, General Kael."
His tone turned mocking.
"Celestial Immortal Realm before a thousand years old. One of the youngest human to do it in your empire's history."
Kael's eyes did not move.
Saryx continued.
"You crushed the Varkuun and took their star mines.
You broke the Kethari Mantid Queen and enslaved her brood into labor.
You wiped out the Ironfin Sea Folk uprisings without losing a single fleet."
His smile widened.
"You even killed a Void Basilisk barehanded. They say you used its spine to forge that spear."
Kael's grip tightened for half a breath, then relaxed again.
Saryx tilted his head. "I'm curious about your strength."
Kael was about to speak.
Then his eyes narrowed, but its too late.
Saryx disappeared.
A fist slammed into Kael's jaw from his blind spot.
BOOM!!!
Kael shot backward, cutting through the air like a thrown spear.
He forced his body to turn mid-flight, as he caught balance on his flying sword.
His cheek throbbed.
Saryx hovered in front of him, smiling again.
"That's more like it," Saryx said.
Kael wiped the blood at the corner of his mouth with his thumb.
He's not afraid to fight the dragon prince, but he know he couldn't kill him.
He couldn't even hurt him too much.
If he did, the Dragon Federation would use it as an excuse.
They would call it an insult, a provocation, a declaration of war.
The Human Empire might win in the end, but Kael would be the one blamed for lighting the fire.
So he made a decision.
Kael lowered his spear.
Saryx noticed and laughed. "What? Afraid?"
Kael did not answer.
He pushed off his sword and vanished.
Saryx's eyes sharpened. He raised his arm.
Kael appeared in front of him and threw a punch.
Saryx blocked with his forearm.
CRACK!!!
The impact did not explode outward. It folded inward, compressing the air, then released as a shockwave that rippled through the clouds.
Saryx slid back half a meter.
Kael stepped in again,.
A second punch, than third and fourth.
Saryx blocked two and took one on the shoulder. His body twisted, but he didn't lose balance.
He countered.
A knee drove toward Kael's ribs.

Saryx lifted his palm and caught the elbow.
Kael felt the strength and didn't force it. He shifted his wrist, slipped free, and snapped a short punch at Saryx's throat.
Saryx tilted his head and let it slide past, then headbutted.
BOOM!!!
Kael's vision flashed white for a breath.
He retreated.
Saryx chased, claws slicing through the air.
Kael blocked with his forearm.
BAM!!!
The claws did not cut deep, but the force drove him back.
They moved in a blur across the sky.
Kael's body flickered left, then right, using short bursts of movement to stay out of a direct grapple.
Saryx kept pressing, trying to catch him and crush him with raw strength.
He throw another punch, targeting Kael's liver.
Kael blocked and answered with a short hook.
Saryx's claws scraped across Kael's forearm.
Sparks jumped from the armor.
Kael drove a knee in.
BAM!
Saryx twisted and took it on the hip, then slammed his elbow down.
Kael caught the elbow and shoved him away.
They closed again right after.
Their bodies blurred across the sky, crashing into each other again and again.
Each hit made the air explode like it was being torn.
The shockwaves rolled down and pressed the forest flat in waves. Leaves shook loose from branches and rained into the clearing.
Dust and ash lifted off the ground like smoke.
Below the sky, the human cultivators froze.
They had seen their General fight before.
They had seen him suppress rebellions, crush sects, and split battlefields with one strike.
"Is that… General Kael?"
"He's not using the spear!"
"As expected from someone on Celestial Immortal realm, even against the dragon prince he only need to use his fist."
