Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System-Chapter 596: Volcano
In Alexβs plan, they would stay hidden and use the Mechalyte as cover. ππ»πππππ«π£π€πππ΅.ππ€π’
That meant if conflict happened, enemies would go after the Mechalyte first, not some small force hiding in a corner of the universe.
No one would waste time and resources attacking something that barely had any value.
War was expensive.
"We still have time, right?" Mingyue asked.
"Letβs look around more.
I want to see if thereβs anything interesting on this planet."
"You mean outside the city?" Alex asked.
He focused his gaze and looked through the dome.
Planet Elyndra was a rocky wasteland filled with volcanoes.
It was not a good place to live.
The only reason humans could live here comfortably was because of the dome.
Even a normal awakener would not survive long outside.
The heat would drain their mana quickly just to protect their skin.
In some places, the ground was so hot that rock turned into magma.
"Yes," Mingyue said. "Outside."
Alexβs lips twitched.
"Youβre a battle fanatic."
He already knew Mingyue liked to fight.
She liked fighting people stronger than her, even if it meant risking her life.
He did not know if it was because she was a cultivator, or if she was born like this.
Mingyue smiled and did not mind his words.
"So?" she asked.
"If not, what should we do?
We still have six hours to kill before the party starts."
"Fine," Alex said.
"Letβs check the planet. Maybe we can find Sigmaβs base too."
"Donβt you already know the location from the Mechalyte?" Mingyue asked.
"Considering the situation, I doubt Sigma gave them everything," Alex said.
"Iβm sure he has a hidden base here, or on another planet."
He paused and looked toward the horizon.
"If it was me, I would hide on another planet where I could escape quickly," Alex said.
"But at the very least, he should have an avatar here. Or someone he trusts."
With their destination decided, the two left the city.
As they left, a humanoid robot stood on top of a tall tower and watched their direction.
Its blue eyes blinked once.
"So thatβs Alex," it said softly. "I wonder if Zold is here too."
If Zold was here, he would recognize this robot.
It was the one he had found from the Dark Guild.

Outside the dome, the air changed immediately.
Heat rolled over them like a heavy wave.
The ground was cracked and black, with thin lines of red glow running between the rocks.
Far away, a volcano rose .
Smoke poured from its mouth in slow bursts.
Mingyue looked around with interest, as if this was a sightseeing trip.
Alex spread his senses.
They moved across the wasteland and headed toward a volcanic ridge that separated the cityβs dome from the deeper badlands.
Along the way, they saw beasts.
Lizards with stone scales crawled between hot rocks.
A pack of four-legged creatures with ash-gray fur hunted near a dry ravine.
One of them lifted its head and sniffed the air, then quickly backed off.
It could feel the danger from Alex and Mingyue.
"Theyβre weak," Mingyue said, sounding slightly disappointed.
"Weβre just too strong for this planet," Alex replied.
They kept going.
Near a field of hardened lava, a patch of strange plants grew from the cracks.
The stems were dark and thin, but the leaves were bright and glossy, like metal.
Some of them had small crystal buds that pulsed with faint heat.
Mingyue crouched and touched one carefully.
"It look alive."
"Itβs exotic resource, but not rare enough," Alex said.
"I believe itβs called heat crystal, it spread heat but nothing much.
Good enough to make you feel warm at winter but basicly pointless for people like us.."
Mingyue stood up and brushed her hand clean.
"Any other good place to check?" she asked.
Alexβs gaze shifted toward the volcano.
"We start there," he said.
"If I was Sigma, I would love a place with noise, heat, and difficult terrain.
It make the place hard to reach, while giivng heat for energy source."
They flew forward, closing the distance.
The volcano grew larger in their vision.
The heat become stronger as they come close.
As they moved closer, they saw many more lizard-like creatures. Some were larger, some smaller, with a few crawling on the rocks while others flew through the air.
"They look like dragons," Alex said with a chuckle. "If our dragon enemy is only at their level, we wonβt have any problem."
"Maybe they still share a similar body structure, like unevolved dragons," Mingyue said. "Based on what Vesa told me, dragons are an arrogant race. If they heard you, they would probably come to kill you, no matter how far you are."
"Wouldnβt you like that?"
"I wonβt lie. It would be interesting," Mingyue said. "Do you think they would send someone strong?"
"Forget it, Mingyue. Itβs too risky."
"With risk comes opportunity, no?"
"Yes, but donβt go looking for it on purpose."
While they talked, they reached the top of the volcano.
A huge lake of magma spread out below, glowing like a living sea.
"Oh, we have a big one here," Mingyue said.
Both of them could feel a strong life force coming from inside the volcano.
Even so, neither of them looked interested.
They could tell the creature was not their match.
"Moon would love playing with that creature."
"Should we capture it, then?"
"Will it fit? Didnβt you say the Awe Cube couldnβt hold a creature at leviathan size?"
"This one isnβt that large, but to be safe, let me upgrade the cube."
Alex took the cube out of his storage, then took out a space crystal he had extracted from the stash.
When Mingyue saw the crystal, her eyes sharpened with interest.
She took it in her palm and felt how the energy moved inside it.
"This feels similar to the teleportation arrays in my world."
"I think they built the teleportation array based on this crystal," Alex said.
"The space power stored in it is far better and more efficient than your teleportation array."
"I wonder if I can use this space ability too."
"If you use it as an auxiliary, itβs possible," Alex said.
"But if you want to use it instantly, you would need to change your ability from the base, like when you added the ice element to your power."
"Iβve had that from my bloodline," Mingyue said. "How can I add another element?"
