Chapter 575: Three Month

Three months had passed.

In the Warforge world, the war had intensified.

Before, Evermore and Basilea had only clashed in large skirmishes.

Now they were tearing chunks of land out of each other every week.

On the strategy table inside Evermore’s forward command hall, the map showed it clearly.

Red marks for Evermore.

Blue for Basilea.

A month ago the blue had been pressed almost to the river line.

Now it had pushed back, carving a deep into Evermore’s territory.

Around the table stood General Asmon, commanders, and a handful of people.

One of them was a woman with long blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. Her armor was simple but reinforced, a light plate over leather, more practical than decorative.

Her expression was calm and cold as she studied the map.

The others called her Eva.

Walking half a step behind her, carrying a thin stack of reports, was a soldier with auburn hair tied in a low braid.

Her name tag read Aira.

To the staff officers, Eva was Evermore’s rising hero, a commander who had pulled three fronts back from collapse in the last two months.

To Aira, she was something else. MingYue.

The map in front of them was divided into five main regions.

The central front where Evermore and Basilea clashed directly.

The northern mountains, claimed by a minor kingdom allied to Evermore.

The southern coast, where another kingdom loyal to Basilea was quietly building fleets.

Farther east and west lay two neutral powers, watching the war like vultures.

"Report," Asmon said quietly.

An adjutant stepped forward, pointing at the central region with a wooden stick.

"Three weeks ago, our forces pushed Basilea back from the Black Ridge line.

We gained two Lithe wells and one fortress, but Basilea counterattacked from the south and took back the Red Orchard plains. Lithe output is still stable, but..." He hesitated.

"We no longer have a clear advantage."

He moved the stick to another spot. "Basilea received reinforcement from the south.

Their ’Sun Favored’ commander now leads the third legion."

The room fell silent for a moment at that name.

The Sun Favored.

The one said to have received a direct blessing from Basilea’s patron god.

The one who had turned three losing battles into overwhelming victories in the last month.

"Their hero with legendary class." One of Evermore’s older commanders clicked his tongue.

"In the last engagement he shattered an entire spear squad alone. One man should not be able to move like that."

"Yet he did," another muttered. "But we also have our own legendary class now.." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Asmon and other turn their gaze toward Eve.

Their eyes filled with expectation.

Three months ago, Evermore had gained its own miracle.

Someone with power at legendary class level.

At the same time, alex has taken over the entire Warforge world.

Since then, everything had accelerated.

Kingdoms that used to play safe now pushed forward with sharpened fangs.

Neutral nations near the edges start making their move.

Their scouts slipped across borders, waiting for the moment to take their share of Lithe fields and relic sites.

On the surface, Evermore and Basilea still in balance.

One step forward here, one step back there.

But anyone who stared at the map long enough could see it.

One decisive win for either side and the balance would break.

When that happened, the other kingdoms would move.

Velna, Mira, and Tovik stood near the back of the room in full gear, together with the rest of Eva’s unit.

Three months ago, after their victory under Jack’s lead, they were promoted.

Now, all of them served under MingYue’s corps.

"Central front is stable for now," the adjutant concluded.

"If we commit the prince’s guard and Lady Eva’s unit together, we may be able to break Basilea’s right wing."

A commander in red armor frowned. "And leave the northern pass loosely guarded?

The Kingdom of Tharion is already massing troops near the border.

They claim it is for ’drill’. Do you believe that?"

Silence.

Everyone knew Tharion’s habits. They never fought first.

They waited until two sides were exhausted, then marched in smiling, offering peace, and took what they wanted.

"If we overextend, Tharion will strike," another officer said.

"So will the southern coalition. They already increased ship movement on the coast."

Eva finally spoke.

"Then assume they will.

We plan as if Basilea is our only enemy, we die.

We plan as if the entire map is hungry, we live."

She tapped the area between Evermore and Basilea with a finger. "So we stop thinking about taking two more forts or three more wells. We look for something that changes the entire board."

"And where do you expect to find that?" the red-armored commander asked.

Aira’s fingers stilled over her system screen.

For a brief second, something flickered over her interface that no one else could see.

She looked at Eva.

MingYue’s eyes moved, just a fraction, as if she had heard the same thing through a different channel.

Then the temple bells rang.

At first, it was only faint, a distant echo from the central cathedral.

Then another, closer bell answered. Then another. Within seconds, the entire forward fortress vibrated with their sound.

"Battle alert?" Velna muttered, hand going to her spear.

"No," Mira said quietly, listening. "That is different."

An acolyte burst into the room, almost tripping over the threshold. "Commanders! High priority message from the capital.

A dungeon has appeared at the Evermore–Basilea border.

The priests are calling it a ’Heavenfall Ruin’."

The room stirred.

Asmon narrowed his eyes.

"A Ruin? Now?"

He feel weird, the timing and location is just too much for it to be a coincidence.

"Show it," Eva said.

Aira stepped forward without waiting for permission, linking her device to the projection crystal at the center of the table.

Lines of light formed, then turned into an image.
