MMORPG: I was BUGGED-Chapter 281: Brewing Salvation"
"Maya, craft the masks immediately!" Eclipse instructed. "Also, use [Appraisal] on the sickness and brew the antidote!"
On the castle battlement, Maya clicked her tongue and growled while immediately equipping an accessory mask on her face. "Maya this. Maya that. I’m not paid enough to be doing all this work!"
But she got right into it and made a simple mask using the materials available to her, but she could only make so much with what she had.
"The masks wouldn’t be enough for everyone!" Maya shouted.
"How many can you make?" Eclipse asked back.
A bead of sweat trickled down Maya’s cheek. "Only ten . . ."
"What?" Eclipse asked back.
"Ten . . ." Maya gritted her teeth, taking a deep breath before exclaiming, "Just ten!"
"Ten?" Eclipse momentarily paused, visibly shaken.
They had believed they were prepared for anything when they entered the Castle of Doom, but it was evident they were mistaken. Despite having a substantial supply of antidotes and cures, this particular sickness proved more resilient than they had anticipated.
"What about the materials in the inventory of your team?" Eclipse asked.
Maya shook her head and shouted back, "I already used all the materials from my team!"
"What?! How could you have used all those materials?!"
"This is the sixth day, you know! Whose fault is it that I was forced to brew potions nonstop? Stop getting afflicted with status effects and letting your HP dwindle down if you don’t want the resources to deplete!" Maya retorted with a growl.
Eclipse caught his tongue, unable to formulate a response. He chose to hurry towards the castle to cure the players and uncover the cause of this mysterious ailment.
On the sides, Xin silently observed the unfolding situation. His safety within the smog was assured, thanks to the meticulous crafting of his personalized mask.
Xin’s crafting expertise proved invaluable as he fashioned a mask that would shield him from the mysterious ailment plaguing the players within the Castle of Doom.
The mask was adorned with etchings resembling mystical runes, symbolizing its potent protective properties.
Crafted from a combination of rare materials found in his adventures, and Xin’s Grandmaster Crafting Skills, the mask bore an aura of resilience.
The [Aether Guard Mask], the name reflected not only the mask’s protective nature but also its ability to filter the air with unparalleled efficiency, ensuring Xin remained unaffected by the mysterious ailment sweeping through their ranks.
The Castle of Doom was shrouded in shadows and uncertainty, and concealed the true nature of the ailment.
Even the players’ advanced [Appraisal] skills fell short in unraveling the mystery behind the sickness.
The guild faced a formidable challenge, with players succumbing to the sickness without a clear understanding of its origins or potential cure.
However, Xin harbored a secret weapon in the form of Hilda.
Realizing the limitations of conventional appraisal methods, she set her sights on crafting an item that would pierce through the veil of the unknown.
Her creation, a mystical device known as the [Luminary Lens], one of the many blueprints in his inventory, harnessed ancient magical essence to unveil the hidden truths of the sickness.
The Luminary Lens resembled a crystalline monocle, delicately suspended in an ornate silver frame. Its surface shimmered with an ethereal glow, emanating an aura of arcane power.
When worn, the lens granted Hilda the ability to discern the nature of the ailment and, crucially, to identify its cure.
[Abyssal Veil Affliction]. The name of the mysterious ailment. A sickness that cloaks its victims in an ethereal veil, the Abyssal Veil Affliction manifests through hauntingly glowing eyes and the gradual darkening of the avatar’s complexion.
The sickness defies conventional appraisal, rendering its true nature elusive to players.
The Abyssal Veil Affliction, once contracted, initiates a sinister cascade of effects within the creatures, each more insidious than the last.
The initial symptoms manifest as an otherworldly red glow in the eyes of the afflicted, a telltale sign that they have become ensnared by the veiled grasp of the sickness.
As time progresses, the avatar’s once vibrant and lifelike features succumb to an unnerving transformation. The virtual complexion darkens gradually, mirroring the encroaching shadows that define the Castle of Doom.
The affliction, like an invisible shroud, wraps its tendrils around the player, its ethereal nature defying conventional healing methods.
The insidious nature of the Abyssal Veil Affliction lies in its silent, inexorable progression. The afflicted player experiences a slow deterioration of their health points (HP), a relentless descent towards an inevitable, though prolonged, demise.
Attempts to counteract the ailment with conventional healing spells, potions, or remedies prove futile — no respite in sight for the affected players.
In the face of this dire predicament, there exists a singular ray of hope: the very rare [Eclipsarum Elixir].
Crafted only by a [Master Crafter] and the unique properties of rare ingredients found across Guildbane, this potion stands as the sole antidote to the Abyssal Veil Affliction.
The Eclipsarum Elixir, when administered in the nick of time, acts as a potent elixir of salvation. Its mystical concoction counteracts the encroaching darkness, dispelling the ethereal veil that clings to the afflicted avatar.
The potion’s effects were nothing short of miraculous, restoring the player’s health and vitality with a surge of rejuvenating energy.
However, the key lies in the ingredients, necessary took and the crafter’s mastery. The potion, named "Eclipsarum Elixir," drew its potency from a carefully selected blend of rare ingredients.
The key ingredients included:
❶ Lunar Petals: Harvested from a rare nocturnal flower that bloomed only in the darkest corners.
❷ Abyssal Essence: Extracted from the essence of shadows
❸ Etheric Balm: Derived from the sap of ancient trees that thrived in the deepest recesses, the balm acted as a soothing agent, alleviating the symptoms of the sickness.
To create the Eclipsarum Elixir, these ingredients were carefully combined using alchemical processes known only to Hilda and Xin.
Fortunately, Xin have the necessary ingredients for the cure. However, looks like that he also have to help Maya with the masks, or the sickness would just consumed the players again and again.
For the meantime, the players would have to be treated with HP potions to keep their health at the maximum while he and Hilda concoct the cure.
