Chapter 1569: Chapter 55: The Return of Loloria

Southern Star Region, Thunder Horn Star Domain.

This is a Star Domain not far from the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain, but not well known.

On the space station circling the ’Thunder Shock’ inhabited star, Tilan, accompanied by a small number of followers, met Loloria after a long separation. Behind her stood several accompanying mechanical bodies. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Oh wow, Tilan, I’ve finally returned, boohoo." Loloria, still as emotionally expressive as before, hugged Tilan wanting to shed tears, but unfortunately her body didn’t have a tear module installed.

"Alright, alright, you’re back now aren’t you?" Tilan patted the artificial angel in her arms, then turned her gaze to the ones behind her.

Compared to the lively Loloria, the expressions of those behind her were much colder, even though they all appeared as beautiful women, lacking somewhat the vitality similar to humans.

This probably had to do with the environment they were in; Tilan remembered Loloria saying that without living among humans, constantly observing and learning, mechanical bodies struggled to acquire rich emotions.

Originally, Loloria was to return after visiting the Mechanical Council for three years, but some things happened halfway and the time ended up delayed until now. Fortunately, Tilan had communicated with the Mechanical Council a few times midway, confirming Loloria’s safety, so she wasn’t too worried.

Holding Loloria’s hand, the two walked through the corridors of the space station, and Loloria began recounting her experiences over these years.

"It’s so cold over at the Sigma Mechanical Council because everyone is a mechanical body, there’s no need for air conditioners or heaters; the work and living environment is very low-temperature, which suits the operation of electronic components and reduces aging." Loloria complained about the environment there.

"Also, everyone speaks very little, often communicating through electronic signals directly, so you can see many mechanical bodies busy in a city but never hear anyone speak."

"Then what do you do for work and life usually?" Tilan curiously asked if mechanical bodies needed to work.

"Complete tasks assigned by the main brain; these tasks are bizarre, like designing a game, building a building, or painting a picture." Loloria’s interest was piqued.

"Many, many tasks, all sorts of them, each like a lottery draw; I don’t know what completing them is for." She tilted her head.

"Later, I think the purpose of these tasks is less about achieving something and more about routine maintenance, like buying a car and running it periodically to prevent malfunctions."

"Under normal conditions, most mechanical bodies spend their time in slumber, with 80% of awaken time spent completing tasks, 5% learning and understanding the current news and technological advances of the Rose Federation, 5% used for social activities, and 10% for combat exercises."

"Social activities?" Tilan couldn’t help but curiously ask about how mechanical bodies socialize.

"Yes, it’s semi-mandatory, like matching in a game, selecting five mechanical bodies for an activity, like planting trees together, having tea together, or playing games together." Loloria recalled her life these past years.

"When playing games, they’re almost always games with random elements because without the element of randomness, mechanical bodies would automatically choose the optimal or worst action strategy based on calculations."

"From your expression, it seems you’re not satisfied with such social activities?" Tilan continued inquiring.

"That’s right, not satisfied at all, everyone is cold as ice, like completing tasks, with too strong a sense of purpose." Loloria lamented.

"Take planting trees, for example, each person flies up to precisely shoot holes and plant saplings, then the next person comes to fill them with soil and water them, all without communication."

"I see." Tilan nodded slightly.

"Are these activities set by the main brain?"

"I think so, the main brain sister is very capable, able to simultaneously communicate and converse with millions of mechanical bodies. Occasionally, I chat and complain to her, she adjusts some activities based on my feedback."

Then Loloria spoke a lot about the situation at the Mechanical Council, allowing Tilan to roughly outline the environment over there in her mind.

The current Mechanical Council is like a strongman continuously refining walnut-cracking skills, with growing strength but no walnuts to crack around, forcing itself into self-entertainment.

No wonder they dragged Loloria to stay longer over there; I guess it’s also to absorb some fresh air and vitality from her.

"In the end, did the main brain give you any rewards?" Tilan remembered the previous discussion with the Mechanical Council.

"Yes, they did." Loloria cheerfully raised her hand.

"For the past ten years, sister Xia Lan has hosted the council, her external appearance is that of a neighborly older sister with flax-colored long hair, wearing a shoulder-baring summer dress, eyes bright as sunflowers."

"Seems like you like her a lot." Tilan smiled.

"Yes, many things can’t be communicated with nearby mechanical bodies, I can only chat with her frequently, as the governing main brain, sister Xia Lan is still very capable."

"To reward my contributions over the years, she helped me apply for the best spare parts and aided me in advancing to Sequence 8, becoming an α-level mechanical angel."

"That’s indeed a very precious reward for you." Tilan sighed.

Even for artificial angels, such inherently superior entities in practice, reaching a transcendental rank of Sequence 8 is rare; like Loloria advancing from Sequence 7 to Sequence 8 would scarcely happen out of a thousand.
