Watching the 'Golden Wolf' Wilcas arrive with a large contingent of soldiers, Ren Suo's mind raced. He suddenly realized that Lanaya, Captain of the Divine Descendant Guard, had been sent by *him* to fetch clothing! And Sony the Great's good friend, the pretentious Great Shadow Method, was also not present.

No wonder Lanaya was never encountered during Wilcas's assault on Sony the Great in the game. So that was why!

Calm down!

First, show goodwill to Los. Let him know that I'm already friends with Lorifes!

Ren Suo silently cheered himself on, telling himself not to panic. It had to be said that Sony's mental fortitude was a bit better than his own. After all, Sony had long been in a high position, was well-informed, and had faced countless assassination attempts; dealing with assassinations was his expertise.

Thanks to Sony's mental fortitude, Ren Suo quickly calmed down. He naturally embraced Lorifes around the waist and waved at Wilcas. "Wilcas, it's not yet time for the banquet. Is there something you need from the Great Magistrate?"

Look, we're already friends; see how close we are.

Why is he suddenly embracing me? Los has infiltrated. If he's nearby, might he think I'm being held hostage?

Wilcas, as if he hadn't seen Ren Suo's actions, stood before the Divine Guards and asked in a routine manner, "I'm here to ask if Sony the Great has any other needs? Whatever the Great Magistrate requires, the Mead Barracks will definitely strive to meet them."

Ren Suo blinked in surprise. Is this Wilcas the real deal?

That's right. Although the Mini-World Game Console sometimes seemed to sabotage me out of a twisted sense of humor, I personally uploaded the completed game save. No matter how much the Mini-World Game Console stirred things up, it wouldn't make such a mistake as turning a discarded save into reality!

And since he was now Sony the Great, it was normal for Wilcas to come and show goodwill. After all, once Xides ascended as the Great Lord, he (Sony) might very well be the next Imperial Sovereign.

The future Emperor was staying right above him, yet Wilcas had only come with a group of subordinates instead of a retinue of beautiful women or handsome men. That was already quite principled of him.

Thus, Ren Suo relaxed and casually said, "The Great Magistrate has no special requirements. You've taken a lot of trouble, Wilcas. I didn't expect a general like you to be so diligent and responsible."

Wilcas earnestly said, "Really? No needs at all? Anything you request is possible. For example, if you plan to inspect the barracks the day after tomorrow and it's inconvenient to bring your female companions, we can activate the Spider Silk Bed in the barracks to send them safely back to the Great Magistrate's Luoyin City Residence first."

Ren Suo shook his head repeatedly. "No need, there's no inconvenience."

"Really? No inconvenience? When inspecting combat readiness, if the soldiers see—"

"I said, there's no inconvenience!" Ren Suo waved his hand dismissively. "I'll arrange for them so they won't interfere with the royal inspection. Now, go back to your duties, Wilcas. Don't bother the Great Magistrate unless it's necessary."

Wilcas paused, nodded, and turned to take his soldiers down the lift.

Ren Suo breathed a quiet sigh of relief and told a Divine Guard, "Tell Lanaya to hurry back once she's found the clothing; we need them urgently! And if there's nothing else, ask Lanaya not to leave. Have her wait at the door; she might be needed."

After speaking, Ren Suo pulled Lorifes into the room and shut the door tightly. Outside, the Divine Guards exchanged looks. "Will you go tell the captain?"

"You should say it; you're on better terms with the captain."

"If I say it, our relationship might not be so good anymore."

"What are you afraid of? The Great Magistrate might need the captain later; you won't be beaten to death by her."

"What are you all talking about?"

Lanaya returned so silently that the Divine Guards were startled into standing ramrod straight, wondering why there hadn't been a sound from the lift opening.

The Divine Guard under Lanaya's gaze stuttered, "So-Sony the Great said, Captain, that as soon as you return, you should quickly bring him the items. And then... then he said to raise the security level, and he hopes you can stay at the door and not leave."

No wonder this kid gets along so well with the captain! Impressive! It sounds like Sony the Great really does just want Captain Lanaya to protect him! the other Divine Guards thought in amazement.

Lanaya responded with a noncommittal "Oh," then suddenly asked, "Did Wilcas just come by here?"

"Yes," the Divine Guard hastily replied. "He came up and asked if Sony the Great needed help and then left."

"Is that all? Didn't Sony the Great say anything that might make someone angry?" Lanaya asked skeptically. "Wilcas just blew up the lift."

They dared not respond to that remark. Lanaya could afford to speak frankly, being one of the very few Three-Star Divine Descendants, revered below the Blood Offspring and above the gods. She dared to be impolite to Sony; they certainly did not.

Wilcas blew up the lift; how did she get up here so quickly? The other lifts are a bit far from here... a question crossed one Divine Guard's mind.

The aerial troops cleared the way, escorted by thousands of civilians.

According to Lorifes, this was actually Bargulf secretly pressuring Sony the Great to make him realize who truly ruled Snowy City. However, both Ren Suo and Sony were the types to indulge in grandstanding, driven more by emotion than reason. Thus, in this atmosphere of overwhelming welcome, Ren Suo felt as if he were about to float away.

When Sony was a prince, such treatment was very rare. But now that Prince Sony had become Sony the Great, the attitudes of the public and the army towards him naturally differed. After all, the Emperor could easily have many princes with a little effort, and a prince's significance lay in his father being the Emperor, not in himself. But a Bloodline Great Law, as long as he did not die, would always stand as one of the sixteen at the apex of the world.

Marching upon the ethereal steps laid out by the army, Ren Suo waved majestically to the people on both sides while Lanaya's Divine Descendant Guards formed a watertight defensive perimeter around him.

Ren Suo subtly turned his head to look back at Wilcas.

The real Wilcas has surely been reduced to excrement in Los's stomach by now. This Wilcas is merely a clone of Los, whose true form is still in the Mead Barracks looking for his sister. However, his sister has already donned the very clothing Los despises most and is now a Divine Descendant Guard following behind me.

I had also thought about creating a clone to trigger the attack event storyline. But on second thought, there were too many variables. The biggest problem was if I let the clone leave while my true form stayed at the Mead Barracks, wouldn't there be a chance of me and Los having a 'love at first sight' encounter around some corner...?

After much consideration, Ren Suo decided to let things take their course. Since he wasn't supposed to get into trouble in this part of the storyline, he didn't try to stir up any unnecessary complications.

Walking down the main thoroughfare of Snowy City amidst the howling blizzard, as they neared the banquet at Dragon Roar Palace, Ren Suo sharply sensed an unusual flow of Spiritual Energy in the air. It's here!

Along with the intense and rapid fluctuations, Ren Suo turned his head and saw a sharp, swift blast of Fiery Flame erupting from among the guards on the left flank!

Yes, this Fiery Flame feels sharp!

Like a fire spear that spelled immense danger, it whistled through the air, bursting towards him!

This was the Flame Dragon Knight Order assassins' trump card for assassinating Sony the Great—Flame Burst!

The Divine Guards faithfully executed their duty, instantly deploying a massive Hexagram Defense Shield. However, it was shattered in mere seconds by successive Flame Burst Techniques, as if it were a mere cookie!

An attack cartridge, fueled by a mortal's life force—this could overwhelm even a Divine Descendant!

Immovable as a Mountain. Ren Suo placed his hand on the button of his belt, ready to activate the Teleport cartridge and slip away. The Divine Guards had already established a 'No-Hunting Zone' centered on him. This prevented anyone who managed to get close from teleporting, while he, having been granted prior exemption, could escape at any moment. This was the key reason he dared to follow the storyline.

However, Ren Suo forgot that while he was certainly safe in the story, not everyone else necessarily was!

There were many assassins in the Flame Dragon Knight Order; the attacks from both sides were but feints. The real thrust came from the rear!

Three Flame Burst Techniques, powerful enough to turn Divine Guards into ashes, erupted simultaneously. They pierced through Ren Suo's rear defensive line in an instant, creating a vast white fog from which battle cries emerged. Dong Chengling and her two companions, positioned slightly to the rear for safety, now faced the assassins of the Flame Dragon Knight Order head-on!

Ren Suo teleported in front of them and pressed his belt buckle. A whole row of massive, rectangular Ice Walls materialized, continuing to spread upward and increase in thickness both forward and backward, forming an insurmountable barrier that firmly blocked the assassins behind!

"Corricks's Slaughter Wall Cartridge!"

A cartridge equipped by a Bloodline Great Law! Any defensive Skill is a large-scale strategic AOE!

However, with a deafening blast of Fiery Flame, one assassin activated Flame Burst, sacrificing his life to shatter the Ice Wall! Amidst the white fog stirred by the clashing Fiery Flame and Cold Ice, another assassin broke through.

The moment he saw Ren Suo, he too activated Flame Burst. His entire body—flesh, bones, hair—became fuel, his soul and will the direction, forming a deadly Fiery Flame that penetrated and crushed everything!

Ren Suo's mind instantaneously overloaded, his thoughts accelerating to their peak, a myriad of ideas fiercely emerging:

Escape? How can I get them out of here!? Besides Lorifes, Dong Chengling and Ren Xingmei can't use cartridges!

Dodge? I'm the only one who can dodge it!

Die? Yes, many Divine Guards died in the game!

Forgive me for not having a clear understanding of the Divine Guard casualties here. But just as you don't remember how many chickens you've killed in a game, how could I possibly pay attention to the deaths of ordinary enemies!

What do I do now!?

Suddenly, Ren Suo recalled some game details, which corroborated with the current intelligence:

There were two space-time coordinates, but actually, one was enough.

In the battle of the Platinum Tower, Prince Sony appeared with just one Otherworld coordinate.

So...

Ren Suo slightly tilted his head. He saw Dong Chengling intently watching the Flame Burst before her, strenuously pulling Lorifes backward.

Ren Suo's thoughts whirled. He pressed the button on his belt, his right hand instantly summoning a storm.

"Assault Hurricane Cartridge!"

The hurricane actually needed about five seconds to fully charge, at which point it could shatter stones and silence armies. However, this nascent storm wasn't strong enough to penetrate the Flame Burst, though it was sufficient to send a person flying!

He thrust his hand hard to his right, intending to push someone, but grasped only air!

Suddenly, time seemed to truly slow down. Ren Suo's thoughts were incredibly clear, but his body felt as heavy and unresponsive as waterlogged meat, utterly lacking Agility.

At that moment, however, Ren Xingmei moved gracefully through a crevice in time like a seasoned traveler. She slowly walked from his right to stand before him. Then, with a light push from both hands, her light push contained immense Force, sending Ren Suo flying with great momentum!

Ren Xingmei, her face mask removed at some point, stood before the Fiery Flame hot enough to devour everything. Yet she smiled, a smile more brilliant than the flames, more mesmerizing than the evaporating snow.

Ren Suo's body wanted to move, but it could not keep up with the speed of his thoughts. It felt like a rusty old car, creaking and groaning, unable to start!

"The Demon King Returns!"

"Within Reach, Yet Worlds Apart… still cooling down!"

"Flame Overlord!"

"Ice Age!"

"Wax and Wane!"

"Master of Ethereal Dreams!"

Ren Suo's fingertips erupted with colorful rays of Spiritual Energy. In that thousandth of a second, they couldn't even form proper energy projectiles; they merely condensed into the vague shape of a flower bud, signifying their master's desperation but otherwise utterly useless.

Ren Xingmei, who was striving to push Ren Suo and Dong Chengling away, noticed Ren Suo's strange condition. She lowered her head and pressed her palm against Ren Suo's.

Then, her crimson cheeks puffed out, and she kicked back with her legs, as if using every last ounce of her strength to push Ren Suo away from the Flame Burst's path. Ren Suo could even hear her grunt with the effort.

The Flame Burst drew closer. Ren Xingmei clenched her teeth and used all her strength to push Dong Chengling and him away from its range. Suddenly, her body weakened, and she leaned on Ren Suo, cooing softly,

"Brother, I'm out of energy."

In that instant, Ren Suo felt as if a cosmic explosion had occurred within him—gamma-ray bursts, the release of "Ancient Scrolls 6"—his rusty body bursting with Endless strength!

"Ren Xingmei Bond Level increased."

"Ren Xingmei Bond Level increased."

BOOM!

The surrounding soldiers, as well as the Divine Guards, watched in horror as a massive Flame Burst erupted at the center of their formation. The Flame Burst, fueled directly by Spiritual Energy, instantly vaporized the falling snow into a dense white fog. Its terrifying energy sent a powerful pressure wave rippling outwards, felt even by distant civilians. Those slightly closer, soldiers and Divine Guards alike, were blasted off their feet. One could only imagine that anyone at its epicenter was surely utterly incinerated!

"Sony the Great!" Lanaya, who had just slain an assassin initiating a Flame Burst, turned and shouted anxiously.

"This Great Magistrate is unharmed," Sony the Great's voice cut through the chaos.

When the white fog cleared, everyone was astonished to see that Sony the Great had teleported away from the epicenter of the Flame Burst, reappearing on another ethereal step in the void. He had even managed to bring three Divine Guards with him, all of them completely unscathed!

Not only did he manage to dodge the attack himself, but he even remembered to rescue his comrades!

The onlooking crowd was instantly filled with awe and respect for Sony the Great. He was truly a warrior worthy of the Merit Points earned during the Dagger Operations. Such presence of mind, such capability—truly impressive!

Seeing that Sony the Great was alright, the soldiers were relieved and redoubled their efforts to eliminate the remaining assassins.

Meanwhile, Ren Suo immediately handed Ren Xingmei, who was burning hot all over with crimson cheeks, to Dong Chengling and Lorifes for care.

Watching his sister sleep soundly in the middle of the battlefield, even the current Ren Suo felt an indescribable emotion swell in his heart.

"Ren Xingmei, Level 4 Bond, Bond Ability 'A Thousand Miles in a Day': Thinking speed (general) +25%, thinking speed (combat) +50%, thinking speed (in peril) +150%."

"Derived Ability: Time Roaming: Your thoughts have torn a hole in time. For the next 1 second, your Physical Condition will be raised to its limit, and your thinking speed will be accelerated a thousandfold. Any damage taken during Time Roaming is nullified. The cooldown for active use is 60 seconds, and for passive activation, 3 seconds (Each encounter with a life-threatening crisis has a 10% chance to trigger this effect)."

Only in his Sony Status could Ren Suo maintain his composure. Were he in his True Form right now, he might have been sighing to the heavens.

Are we really siblings!? Why haven't I, the older brother, had an Awakening yet, while my sister has had two in a row, each one more incredible than the last!?

Is my sister a Time Controller?!
