Chapter 1024: 0.01 Second

Irene, seeing the incoming sun attack, didn’t hesitate. She moved, her body becoming a streak of motion as she tore away from the star she had been lunged into. Her arm drew backward like a bowstring, her fist clenched tightly, and without any reservation, she unleashed a punch, her blue fist meeting the sun head-on.

With a titanic impact, both forces collided. The sun collapsed entirely under the immense force of her punch, an enormous burning and searing crimson heat wave tearing outward with a thunderous explosion of flames. Space itself melted and distorted everywhere the wave passed, the vacuum rippling violently under the overwhelming temperature and pressure.

The female Angel who had attacked dove through the heat wave, her body a bolt of gold as she appeared before Irene in her divine armor. Her voice echoed through the cosmic air as she activated a skill.

Holy Cage

Faith Energy erupted from her being, flowing outward like liquid radiance. The next moment, a huge golden hexagonal shape appeared beneath Irene’s feet, glowing with divine inscriptions. Then, in the blink of an eye, towering walls shot upward from each side of the hexagon, forming a radiant prison meant to seal Irene completely.

Irene, seeing this, didn’t hesitate. She tapped into her skill again and vanished from where she stood, swiftly dodging the sealing technique before the cage could fully close around her.

The moment she reappeared at another location, another Angel was already there waiting, her sabre sang toward Irene’s neck with world-rending speed and force. Irene couldn’t even see the attack coming. It had been too sudden, as the Angel who was attacking her had read her movements like an open book.

Although caught off guard, Irene’s instincts and sixth sense were still sharp. Her body reacted immediately as she tried to dodge, twisting her form away from the deadly arc of the blade, but it was too late, the blade kissed flesh. What followed was the sickening sound of flesh being parted with terrifying ease. Blood splattered into the cosmic air and drifted through space like crimson mist.

In another direction, Irene appeared. Although she had managed to dodge, she hadn’t dodged fully. She had only managed to save her neck, but she had lost her arm.

Blood splattered from the stump on her shoulder, droplets floating weightlessly through space. Yet it didn’t matter. The next moment, her innate regeneration and Vita Energy surged forward, sealing the wound shut as living tissue rapidly reconstructed itself.

Her face remained expressionless, at this point, she didn’t feel pain anymore.

But although her face was calm and devoid of emotion, her mind was working rapidly, analyzing every detail of the battle. Almost instantly, she arrived at an answer as to how the Angel had managed to catch her off guard.

The teleportation skill she had been using had come from a skill book, it wasn’t something she had personally comprehended or mastered through her own understanding. Because of that, every time she used it, she left faint spatial ripples at both her previous location and her destination, those ripples could be detected and even be anticipated.

Although she was a healer, her battle acumen still allowed her to think like a seasoned warrior. Her mind continued to calculate and adapt despite the overwhelming danger she faced.

But now, her teleportation skill could no longer be used, the weakness had been exposed, and the Angels had already adapted.

With that realization, the Angels surged forward once more, their bodies blazing through space with terrifying speed, Irene could only grit her teeth and attempt to fight back, but it was useless, every skill she used only surprised the Angels the first time. By the second time, they had already adapted seamlessly and were no longer caught off guard.

At some point, even the first use of some of her skills no longer surprised them. They had already reached a conclusion within their minds that Irene could use anything at any moment. And so they treated every movement she made as a potential threat.

The Angels couldn’t understand how Irene could use such a wide variety of skills and abilities. The concept of skill books was completely foreign to them, as such things didn’t exist within the Divinora.

In fact, the concept was foreign even to many within the Acarnis Galaxy. It was one of the unique methods of gaining power that existed primarily on the Blue Planet and a few billion other worlds scattered across the Acarnis Galaxy.

Meanwhile, Irene’s injuries continued to pile up, increasing in both number and severity, at one moment, she was sliced cleanly in half from the head downward, another moment, she was cut in half at the waist, another instant, she was nearly decapitated, she lost her limbs more times than she could count, but every single time, her Vita Energy surged into overdrive, restoring her body and essence back to their peak state with relentless persistence.

At this moment, Irene’s body was battered and exhausted, her body was soaked in sweat and blood. Her once elegant crimson hair was disarranged and unkempt, drifting wildly around her, her usual graceful demeanor was nowhere to be seen, her once pristine white robe had been stained red by her own blood.

She knew the truth, she was only surviving at this moment because she was dodging and running. She couldn’t keep up with them anymore, but determination still burned fiercely within her eyes.

Her thoughts drifted toward her husband, her son, her daughter-in-law, and her grandson, at this moment, she missed them.

She could have easily escaped earlier, but the Twelve-Winged Angel had already sealed all forms of teleportation and spatial escape. Every means of leaving had been locked away, but despite that, she still grinned, if she was going to die here...then she would take them with her.

As the Angels closed the distance once again, like predators playing with their prey, the pendant hanging from Irene’s neck flickered faintly as she directed her mana into it.

The moment she did, everything froze for exactly 0.01 second. The Angels who had closed the distance froze completely. Their bodies, their thoughts, even the flow of their Faith Energy became locked in place under the overwhelming power of the pendant artifact.

The moment they froze, Irene moved, she knew she didn’t have much time, her body blurred forward, crossing the distance between herself and the Angels in a fraction of the frozen moment, her body became a blue streak of motion, her hands snapped forward like spears and with terrifying precision and speed, she pierced through the hearts and brains of ten Angels.

Every strike was efficient, every movement lethal, every second perfectly calculated. By the time time itself snapped back into place, ten bodies immediately went limp, golden blood splattered across the cosmic battlefield as lifeless Angelic bodies drifted through space.

Their numbers had been reduced from twenty to nine.

The next moment, the pendant artifact on Irene’s neck shattered and crumbled into fragments, its power exhausted as it had always been a one-time-use artifact.

The remaining Angels didn’t hesitate, one of them launched forward with a killing blow, a gigantic hammer slamming toward Irene’s upper torso with burning fury, the Angel intended to blow apart her entire body in one strike, to erase her completely before she could reveal another hidden trump card. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Irene stared at the incoming attack, her crimson eyes slowly closed. Peace filled her expression as she accepted her fate, but just as the hammer was about to collapse upon her, a hand appeared within the space between her and the weapon.

And with titanic force, the hand stopped the attack as though it were nothing more than a childish tantrum, before the Angel’s eyes could even widen in shock or surprise at the sudden presence, overwhelming, space-tearing white lightning crashed down from the heavens with burning rage.

The bolt struck the Angel directly and in an instant, the Angel was erased from existence where he stood, the man who had arrived stood over six feet tall, his hair was white, matching the thick beard on his face, although he looked as though he were in his forties, the overwhelming power radiating from his body made it clear he was far older than his appearance suggested.

Lightning crackled around him endlessly, and in his arms, he held his wife with delicate care.

Null Collins, the Lightning God of the Blue Planet had arrived just in time.
