Dragon Hollyhock didn’t know that Ye Xiu had recognized her and already knew her identity. After all, this was their first meeting, and in all of Jin Ye City, only Long Bo was aware of who she truly was. Of course, she also didn’t know that Long Bo had already been killed by Ye Xiu. They rarely contacted each other unless something important came up.

As she watched Ye Xiu speaking eloquently on the podium, Dragon Hollyhock suddenly found him quite charming and handsome as well.

"Alrighty!" Ye Xiu agreed cheerfully before turning to Dragon Hollyhock. "Sorry, I’m booked for today. Come back tomorrow."

Dragon Hollyhock sucked in a sharp breath.

So Ye Xiu wasn’t insulting her. He was actually selling himself! This is impossible! Absolutely impossible! The renowned Medicine King of Xuanse... how could he possibly be selling himself with a price tag? Ye Xiu and Murong must be putting on an act!

Dragon Hollyhock returned to her seat at the back of the classroom, deciding to observe the situation further.

Dragon Hollyhock trailed Ye Xiu and Murong as they left the classroom and the school building, then watched as they got into the same taxi at the school gate.

Now she had no choice but to believe it. They had gotten into a taxi together, clearly on their way to a hotel; what was there to doubt?

Dragon Hollyhock felt a wave of contempt.

You can know a person’s face, but not their heart. To think the famous Divine Doctor Ye leads such a chaotic private life!

But then a new thought occurred to her. If Ye Xiu was for hire, getting pregnant with his child would be incredibly easy. All it would take was a bit of money.

Murong asked, "Where are you taking me?"

"Housing in Jin Ye City is insanely expensive, easily running into the millions or even tens of millions. Even if you promised my grandfather you’d look after me, you don’t need to go this far. You must be planning to make me your kept woman, to turn me into your mistress or something," Murong concluded, sounding incredibly certain.

For some reason, the thought of being kept by Ye Xiu made her feel surprisingly happy. What was that about?

"The way you women think is never normal," Ye Xiu said, exasperated. "A house in Jin Ye City might seem astronomically expensive to you, but to me, it’s nothing."

This made the taxi driver chuckle. "Young man, I’ve been driving a taxi for many years and have seen my fair share of braggarts, but you really take the cake."

In the driver’s eyes, Ye Xiu was just making empty promises to the girl. He had seen too many scumbags like him!

"Just assume I’m bragging, then," Ye Xiu replied without arguing. He then asked, "Which residential area near Saint-Esprit Medical College is the best?"

"I heard Waterside Imperial Court has an open house this afternoon. You two could go check it out," the driver suggested.

"Want to go take a look?" Ye Xiu asked Murong.

"You decide!" Murong replied, playing the part of a dutiful partner.

"Alright, let’s get lunch first. Driver, take us to the best restaurant near Waterside Imperial Court," Ye Xiu instructed.

The taxi driver chuckled to himself. He was now more convinced than ever that Ye Xiu was a scumbag, making a big fuss about going to the ’best’ restaurant for a simple meal. So, he deliberately drove them around for over half an hour before finally stopping in front of a restaurant.

After they got out of the car, Ye Xiu noticed Murong’s face was flushed and asked, "What’s wrong? Did you get drunk on the air?"

"Stop it!" Murong playfully punched him. Her cheeks were red because she had heard this was a well-known couples’ restaurant.

Bringing her here was a clear hint!

They entered the restaurant and chose a corner table.

Just as they finished ordering, Ye Xiu saw two familiar faces walk in.

Dragon Hollyhock! And Luo Qiwei! What the hell? How did those two end up together? If they’re here together, something illicit must be going on!

Ye Xiu perked up his ears to eavesdrop.

Luo Qiwei and Dragon Hollyhock chose a table far from Ye Xiu. After they sat down, Dragon Hollyhock complained in a low voice, "Meeting for a meal is risky enough, but you had to bring me to a couples’ restaurant? We’ll be in big trouble if someone finds out about our relationship."

Ye Xiu was taken aback.

A couples’ restaurant? No wonder Murong was blushing. It seems she misunderstood. Still, based on what Dragon Hollyhock said, they really are having an affair.

"What’s there to be afraid of? Once I control the Zuo Family, I’ll kick every last one of them out. Then, I’ll marry you honorably and openly," Luo Qiwei declared with the possessive arrogance of a man stealing another’s wife.

Ye Xiu was speechless.

The guy had barely been back in the country a day and was already lusting after Qin Qing, and now here he was, making empty promises to Dragon Hollyhock. What a scumbag.

However, Ye Xiu couldn’t help but feel a sense of schadenfreude. If Luo Qiwei ever found out Dragon Hollyhock’s true identity, he probably wouldn’t even know what hit him.

"We should still keep a low profile," Dragon Hollyhock said. "After all, the Zuo Family isn’t yours yet, and given the current situation, your chances of winning the inheritance against Zuo You aren’t great."

"As long as you’re willing to help me, Zuo You is no match for me," Luo Qiwei stated confidently.

"You can rest assured on that point. I will definitely..." Dragon Hollyhock was about to express her unwavering support for Luo Qiwei when she caught sight of a familiar face out of the corner of her eye.

"What are you looking at?" Luo Qiwei noticed her gaze and turned to look.

The moment he saw Ye Xiu, his mind instantly flashed back to the kick Ye Xiu had delivered. He was filled with rage. However, when he saw that the girl sitting across from Ye Xiu wasn’t Qin Qing, an idea suddenly struck him.

He stood up and exclaimed in an exaggeratedly loud voice, "Oh my, isn’t that Divine Doctor Ye? What a coincidence to run into you here!"
