Medical and Martial God-Chapter 77: The Ninth War God
"Let’s attack together!"
Mo Qingxuan and the seven Grandmasters were all seasoned veterans of the martial world. Their mental fortitude was beyond question. Despite the gnawing fear in their hearts, they knew that to survive, they had to fight with everything they had. People often unleash far greater potential when facing a desperate situation. As the saying goes, the ruthless fear the reckless, and the reckless fear those who have nothing to lose.
Adopting a do-or-die fighting style, Mo Qingxuan and the seven Grandmasters charged almost simultaneously. The eight men, relying on years of honed coordination, launched a pincer attack, each targeting one of Ye Xiu’s eight different vital points. Mo Qingxuan leaped to strike Ye Xiu’s brow, while the seven Grandmasters assumed different stances to attack his chest, lower body, sides, and back. They struck with their full power.
Faced with such an encirclement, even a Great Grandmaster wouldn’t dare to fight head-on and would be forced to dodge.
But Ye Xiu was different. He was incandescent with rage, his Killing Intent surging to the heavens. He didn’t even bother to dodge.
"Die!"
Ye Xiu stomped his right foot fiercely on the ground. The floor tiles beneath him instantly shattered, spraying out in all directions like a storm of Hidden Weapons. In an instant, all seven Grandmasters were struck in their vitals, dying gruesomely before they could even get close.
At the same time, Ye Xiu threw a ruthless punch, colliding head-on with the fist of the leaping Mo Qingxuan.
BOOM!
CRACK!
Following a dull thud, Mo Qingxuan’s fist and his entire right arm were blown to smithereens, and he was sent flying backward.
"This..."
Mo Qingxuan crashed into a wall and spat out a mouthful of blood as he landed. He stared at Ye Xiu in horror. "Impossible! How can you possibly be this strong?"
He was a Great Grandmaster, after all. Even if he couldn’t defeat Huang Quan, he should have been able to last for dozens of moves. Yet, he couldn’t even withstand a single strike from Ye Xiu.
"You think being a Great Grandmaster is impressive? In my eyes, a Great Grandmaster is no different from trash."
Ye Xiu walked toward Mo Qingxuan one step at a time. Each step was heavy and forceful, leaving a centimeter-deep footprint in the tiled floor.
"Sigh..."
Mo Qingxuan sighed, but he didn’t beg for mercy. As a Great Grandmaster, he had his dignity.
Looking at the approaching Ye Xiu, he looked to the heavens and let out a long sigh. "Ye Tianming set me up!"
With that, he slapped a palm to his own forehead and committed suicide.
When Ye Tianming had asked for his help to force Ye Xiu out of Jin Ye City, he had never mentioned that Ye Xiu was a Great Grandmaster. This was nothing short of a setup.
"He had some spine, at least," Ye Xiu snorted coldly.
Just then, the sound of countless urgent footsteps surrounded the villa. The Mo Family disciples had finally arrived.
Ye Xiu took out his phone and made a call. "Leave no one alive."
Hanging up, he sat down on the sofa. Outside, the sounds of intense fighting and blood-curdling screams erupted. The Blood Cloth Guards had made their move.
After a moment’s hesitation, Ye Xiu sent Qing Luan a text message: "Come to the Mo Family estate to collect the bodies."
Under Huang Quan’s Butcher’s Knife, none were innocent. The Mo Family disciples were all scoundrels who had committed countless heinous acts over the years. They all deserved to die. The day Ye Xiu had massacred the War God Ranking, Xuanse’s Eight Great National Protector War Gods learned he was returning to Jin Ye City and requested his help in annihilating the Mo Family. Ye Xiu hadn’t agreed at the time because the Mo Family had not offended him. Now, he could consider this an act of eradicating evil for the country—a favor to the Eight Great National Protector War Gods.
「Half an hour later.」
The noise outside had vanished. Just then, a woman, bundled up from head to toe, walked in. It was Qing Luan, one of Xuanse’s Eight Great National Protector War Gods.
"Thanks!" Qing Luan said.
"It’s just collecting corpses. You didn’t have to come in person," Ye Xiu said with a smile.
"I came to see you about something else."
Qing Luan took an official-looking document from her pocket and handed it to Ye Xiu. "I hope you will accept this."
Ye Xiu opened the document and saw four large, red characters printed on it: Ninth War God.
"What’s the meaning of this?" Ye Xiu asked.
"Please, don’t misunderstand," Qing Luan said earnestly, removing her sunglasses. "The higher-ups appointing you as the Ninth War God isn’t a move to command you, nor is it to place you beneath us. If you agree, the eight of us are willing to acknowledge you as our leader."
"Have you run into some kind of trouble?" Ye Xiu asked.
"Well..." Qing Luan hesitated for a moment before saying, "The Western Border has been restless recently."
"Tomorrow, I’ll have someone send the Battle Soul Blade to you. Plant it at the Boundary Monument and spread the word: should any country’s army dare to enter our borders without permission, I will personally see to it that they get a new King." Ye Xiu stood up and handed the document back to Qing Luan. "As for this Ninth War God title... take it back. My hands are stained with too much blood. I’m not worthy of the position."
With that, he left.
Qing Luan stared at the document in her hand and sighed. She had anticipated that Huang Quan wouldn’t accept the title of Ninth War God, but she hadn’t expected him to be willing to help.
With the Battle Soul Blade guarding the Western Border, no one would dare take a single step across the frontier.
That was the deterrent power of Huang Quan.

After leaving the Mo Family compound, Ye Xiu suddenly remembered that Ma Tengkong’s house was very close.
Time to go tease Ma Tengkong!
And so, Ye Xiu went over to Ma Tengkong’s house.
After he rang the doorbell, a woman’s voice came from inside. "Who is it?"
"Big Brother, it’s me, Ye Xiu!" Ye Xiu shouted.
Ma Tengkong, who was inside the villa looking at some pamphlets, trembled with fear when he heard Ye Xiu’s voice.
He quickly told his wife, "Tell him I’m not home. We can’t afford to provoke him at a time like this."
"He’s already inside!" Ma Tengkong’s wife said with a grim expression. She hadn’t planned on opening the door, but Ye Xiu had simply climbed over the wall.
"Ye Xiu..." Seeing him enter, Ma Tengkong stood up in a rage. "You have some nerve! How could you just climb over the wall without my permission?"
"Big Brother, you know I’m in trouble. I was hoping to hide out at your place for a few days," Ye Xiu said.
"Absolutely not!" Ma Tengkong rejected him without a second thought and began pushing him toward the door. "This humble home of mine can’t accommodate a great figure like you. Go on, get out of here! Don’t bring your trouble to my doorstep!"
"Alright, alright, I’m going!" Ye Xiu laughed. Ma Tengkong was indeed the same as ever, always cowering from trouble.
After pushing Ye Xiu out, Ma Tengkong went back inside.
His wife said, "Everyone in Jin Ye City knows Ye Xiu is back now. He must have come here for refuge because he has nowhere else to hide. Wasn’t it a bit too heartless to drive him away like that, especially since you two are sworn brothers?"
"These days, you can’t even rely on your own flesh and blood. What good are sworn brothers?" Ma Tengkong cursed. "That bastard swindled me out of nine million, and now he’s trying to ruin me. If people in Jin Ye City found out we were hiding him, how could we ever show our faces here again?"
His wife fell silent. Better than anyone, she knew exactly what kind of man her husband was.
"Dad, Mom, you have to see this!"
At that moment, Ma Tengkong’s son ran down from the second floor, handing a phone to his father.
