Medical and Martial God-Chapter 66 Huang Quan Battles Blood Demon
Ye Xiu had long guessed that Blood Demon would be waiting for him near Saint Medical College. He had even seen the man squatting on the curb. That was precisely why he deliberately accelerated into the college campus—to lure Blood Demon into the ambush circle Ghost Doctor had prepared.
As expected, Ye Xiu saw through the rearview mirror that Blood Demon had followed him onto the campus. He then slowed down, feigning the concern of someone afraid of hitting students.
Saint Medical College was enormous, almost the size of a regular university. However, with fewer than a thousand students, many of its teaching buildings stood empty. Ye Xiu stopped his car in front of Building 14, got out, and walked inside.
Just then, Blood Demon materialized at the entrance like a specter, hiding to one side and cautiously peeking in. Seeing Ye Xiu enter Classroom 105, he darted after him.
As a professional killer, Blood Demon was extremely cautious. Even though he believed Ye Xiu couldn’t withstand a single one of his moves, it was always better to be safe than sorry. He stood outside the door to Classroom 105 and pressed his ear against it, holding his breath to listen for any sound within. With his enhanced senses, he could detect even the faintest breath.
"Oh, Mr. Ye, you’re so naughty... stop touching me there..."
Hearing such a voice from the classroom, Blood Demon was completely baffled. What the hell? My God, what a beast! An utter animal!
Enraged, he threw the door open and charged inside, intent on catching Ye Xiu in the act. However, the moment he burst in, he froze. The classroom was completely empty, devoid of even a single desk. Only Ye Xiu stood there, smiling at him.
"Where’s the female student?" Blood Demon asked.
"That was me," Ye Xiu replied, perfectly mimicking a young woman’s voice.
What the fuck! Blood Demon was stunned. Did he just play both parts himself?
"What kind of strange habit is this? Coming to an empty classroom early in the morning to practice a girl’s voice?" Blood Demon couldn’t comprehend Ye Xiu’s bizarre quirk.
"If I didn’t, how else would I get you to come in?" Ye Xiu asked with a grin. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Blood Demon stared. "You knew I was following you, and you deliberately lured me here?"
"Not bad. You’re not senile yet," Ye Xiu chuckled.
"Interesting. It seems I’ve underestimated you," Blood Demon said with a sinister smile. "If I’m not mistaken, you’re also an Ancient Martial Cultivator, aren’t you?"
"I suppose you could say that," Ye Xiu nodded.
"Then you’re in for a disappointment. You think luring me here means you can eliminate me? You have no idea how powerful I truly am," Blood Demon declared arrogantly.
"Is your so-called power the fact that you survived a slash from me last year before fleeing in terror?" Ye Xiu asked mockingly.
"You..." Blood Demon’s face contorted in shock. He took a step back and stammered, "Who... Who are you?"
"Haven’t you already guessed?" Ye Xiu countered.
"Impossible! That’s impossible!" Blood Demon said, his face a mask of disbelief. "You’re the Xuanse Medicine King, Ye Xiu! You’re only twenty-six! How could you possibly be the mighty Huang Quan?"
Whenever Huang Quan made a move, he wore a ghastly mask and a Black Cloak. Because of this, Blood Demon had always assumed he was an old man.
"Why don’t we trade a few blows? Then you’ll know for sure," Ye Xiu goaded him.
"You’re all bark and no bite!"
Blood Demon lunged at Ye Xiu. His right hand blurred as he drew a blood-red Fine Steel Soft Sword from his waist. With a flick of his wrist, the flexible blade went rigid as if on stimulants, its tip aimed straight for Ye Xiu’s throat. His speed was incredible. When Blood Demon killed, he always struck with the ferocity of a lion pouncing on a rabbit; even against the weakest of foes, he used his full strength. This strike was, without a doubt, Blood Demon unleashing his full power.
"Die!" As the sword tip closed to within millimeters of Ye Xiu’s throat, a cruel, cold smirk spread across Blood Demon’s lips. I’ve won! This kid really was just bluffing!
But in that instant, he found his sword would not move an inch further. He then realized that Ye Xiu had caught the tip between two fingers.
This...! Blood Demon’s expression changed drastically. He was a Great Grandmaster, yet his full-powered strike had been stopped by two mere fingers. What did that mean? It meant Ye Xiu was vastly stronger than him.
BANG! While still reeling from the shock, Blood Demon felt an impact like a speeding train slamming into his chest, and his body was sent flying backward like a cannonball.
BOOM! He crashed into the far wall with enough force to create a man-shaped crater, leaving him embedded within it.
Blood Demon violently spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. Ye Xiu’s kick had nearly ruptured his internal organs, leaving him severely wounded.
However, Blood Demon had no time to dwell on his injuries or his shock. A blood-red aura suddenly flared around him, and he shot toward the window like an arrow. His speed was more than double that of the kick that had sent him flying.
BANG! He slammed headfirst into the window pane.
The glass didn’t break; his head did.
HISS... What in the hell is this glass made of? Blood Demon sucked in a sharp breath as his head buzzed, the agony nearly making him pass out.
"To prevent your escape, I had someone replace the glass overnight," Ye Xiu explained with a calm smile. "This type isn’t available on the market yet. Its hardness is more than ten times that of bulletproof glass."
"You... you really are Huang Quan?" Blood Demon asked, utterly shocked. Blood from the wound on his head streamed down his face, creating a ghastly sight.
"You still don’t believe me?" Ye Xiu asked.
"I believe you!" Blood Demon now believed him, without a shadow of a doubt. Besides Huang Quan, there was likely no one else in the world who could injure him so grievously in a single move.
He was puzzled, though. "It’s only been a year," he asked. "How has your strength increased so much?" A year ago, he had been able to withstand a slash from Huang Quan; now, he couldn’t even see the shadow of his opponent’s kick.
"Don’t flatter yourself," Ye Xiu laughed. "When I came for you a year ago, it wasn’t to kill you, so I wasn’t using my full strength. And you? You’ve spent the whole year bragging about taking that hit from me."
Blood Demon was speechless. Talk about a blow to the ego. For the past year, he had been immensely proud of the fact that he had survived a slash from Huang Quan and successfully escaped. He had even deliberately spread the story, boasting about it everywhere. And now he learned that Huang Quan hadn’t even been trying.
"You said you weren’t trying to kill me last year. Then what did you want?" Blood Demon asked.
"I wanted to ask for your help with something," Ye Xiu said, his expression turning serious.
"Just that?" Blood Demon felt himself breaking. Why the hell didn’t you just say so?! If I’d known you just wanted a favor, why the fuck would I have run? I’ve been scared out of my mind, hiding all over the place for over a year!
He collected himself and asked, "What do you need my help with?"
"You have to agree first. Only then can I tell you," Ye Xiu replied.
