"Someone’s coming!"

As the discussion grew more heated, Chloe suddenly turned to look at the bridge leading to the island.

Qin Qing was startled. Who could be coming?

A moment later, she saw a minivan speeding toward them, stopping abruptly in front of her and Chloe. Six men in black masks and clothes climbed out.

Qin Qing glanced at Chloe in surprise. This woman’s hearing is astonishing. She heard the van from so far away and even knew it was headed for them.

Meanwhile, Ming Yue, who was spying on them with binoculars, grew excited. She knew Ye Xiu’s Family consisted only of women. Even with twenty-one of them now that Qin Qing had arrived, six burly, knife-wielding men could surely take them down with ease.

"Who are you?" Chloe stepped in front of Qin Qing, sword in hand, and glared coldly at the six masked men, her eyes filled with a barely restrained killing intent.

"They’re here for me," Qin Qing said, pushing Chloe aside. She faced the men, her expression cold as she asked, "You’re here to capture me, aren’t you?"

"Miss Qin certainly is straightforward," the leader of the masked men cackled. "In that case, come with us quietly. It’ll save my brothers the trouble of getting rough and accidentally hurting you."

As he spoke, he signaled for the other five men to surround Qin Qing and Chloe.

"I’m sorry, but I won’t be taken without a fight, even if it means I have to die," Qin Qing said with utter resolution. She knew they wanted to capture her to threaten Ye Xiu, and she was keenly aware that if she fell into their hands, Ye Xiu would be at their mercy, no matter how powerful he was.

Therefore, she would rather die than be a burden to Ye Xiu!

"Since Miss Qin is choosing to do this the hard way, don’t blame my brothers for being impolite," the leader said, waving a hand. "Get them! Remember, don’t hurt Miss Qin. As for the other one... do whatever you want!"

Qin Qing looked at the six masked men, who were so injured they couldn’t even get up. Her expression grew colder as she ordered in an icy voice, "Kill them."

Chloe was shocked. "Shouldn’t we ask who sent them?"

"No need!" Qin Qing said sharply. It was painfully obvious who had sent them.

"As you command," Chloe replied. As expected of Huang Quan’s woman, so ruthless and vicious! she thought in admiration.

She walked over to one of the masked men and, without hesitation, plunged her sword through his heart. Then, she started toward the next one. Seeing this, the other five men were so scared they nearly wet themselves. They scrambled to run, but they had underestimated their injuries and found they couldn’t even get to their feet.

"Don’t, don’t kill us..." one begged.

"I’ll tell you! I’ll tell you who sent us! Please, don’t kill me!" another cried out.

The men screamed and begged for mercy, but Chloe was like a cold, emotionless reaper, taking their lives one by one with a single strike of her sword. Strangely, not a single drop of blood flowed from the heart wounds of the six dead men.

"She... she killed them?" Ming Yue stammered as she watched the slaughter through her binoculars. Her face paled, and her body trembled uncontrollably.

"Interesting. Very interesting," Xing Haiqing, however, said with a playful smile, clearly enjoying the bloody spectacle. "Ming Yue, what do you think? If we called the authorities right now, do you think Qin Qing would spend the rest of her life in prison?"

"Absolutely not!" Ming Yue refused flatly. "We can’t use the Official Family’s power to deal with Ye Xiu."

She had never told Xing Haiqing about Ye Xiu’s true strength. If Qin Qing was arrested and imprisoned, she couldn’t begin to imagine the furious, insane retaliation Ye Xiu would unleash. "What ’dish’?" Ming Yue asked.

"I found someone from the Siwei Monitor to cause some trouble for Ye Xiu at Shenghe Medical School," Xing Haiqing replied.

Ming Yue’s eyes lit up. Both Shenghe Medical School and Shenghe Hospital were under the jurisdiction of the Siwei Monitor.

"Let’s go! We can watch the show at Shenghe Medical School," Ming Yue said eagerly.

"Aren’t you afraid Ye Xiu will find out you’re the one pulling the strings?" Xing Haiqing asked.

"With you by my side, what do I have to be afraid of?" Ming Yue countered.

"That’s true!" Xing Haiqing said. A sense of honor swelled in his chest. This feeling of being needed by the goddess... it’s so damn thrilling!

On his way to Shenghe Medical School, Ye Xiu received a call from Qin Qing. When he learned that someone had tried to capture her, he just laughed. So the Ming Family finally couldn’t hold back any longer, huh?
