Medical and Martial God-Chapter 42 Murong’s Counterattack
"Teacher Ye..." Murong approached him after class.
"You don’t need to apologize to me. I’m not that petty." Ye Xiu, assuming Murong had come to apologize, cut her off to console her.
"I’m not here to apologize to you," Murong stated coldly.
Ye Xiu’s face flushed with embarrassment. Uh! Damn, I was being way too presumptuous.
"I can’t deny that your medical skills are indeed amazing, Teacher Ye, and I do admire them." Murong’s face was like impenetrable permafrost as she spoke. "But I still hope you will consider my concern. Your presence will lead Shenghe Medical College to ruin."
Rendered speechless by her persistence, Ye Xiu laughed. "I suggest you buy some walnuts. With an IQ like yours, you’ll never be smart enough to earn a four-course meal."
With that, he walked straight out of the classroom.
"What do you mean by that?" An angered Murong started to chase after Ye Xiu but was stopped by Jiang Hongye.
"Teacher Ye is right. You really do need to boost your brainpower," Jiang Hongye said. "Think about it. If Teacher Ye wasn’t confident he could handle a crisis, would he have come to Shenghe Medical College to be a teacher?"
Murong stood there, stunned. Only then did it dawn on her.
Shenghe Medical College and Shenghe Hospital were both established with a hefty investment from Ye Xiu. He had also ordered the Ghost Doctor to serve as the President, spent a fortune purchasing the world’s most advanced medical equipment, and hired a large group of titans from the medical world to teach.
After investing so much, Ye Xiu had no reason to destroy it all. If he dared to come here as a teacher, he must have been prepared!
"Even if he’s confident about handling a crisis, he could have just told me! Did he have to insult me?" Murong stamped her foot in frustration.
Unfortunately, Ye Xiu was already too far away to hear her.
After leaving the teaching building, Ye Xiu saw Ma Tengkong waiting downstairs.
Ye Xiu smiled and asked, "Brother, are you waiting here for me? Don’t tell me you’re planning to treat me to dinner."
Treat you my ass! Ma Tengkong cursed inwardly but put on a cheerful smile. "Where do you live, brother? Show me the way so it’ll be more convenient to visit in the future."
"I don’t have a problem with that, but I’m afraid you wouldn’t dare to come," Ye Xiu said with a shrug.
"What are you talking about, brother? Is there anywhere in this world I wouldn’t dare to go?" Ma Tengkong postured as if he were second only to God himself. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"A lot of people want to kill me right now. On my way home, I’m liable to run into all sorts of car accidents, stabbings, and assassinations. The level of danger is on par with the legendary Journey to the West. Are you sure you want to come home with me?" Ye Xiu asked teasingly.
Ma Tengkong’s mouth twitched. He blustered, "What’s there to be afraid of? It would be my pleasure to die alongside you, brother. However, I just remembered I have a meeting tonight. How about this, I’ll visit your home tomorrow."
Without waiting for Ye Xiu’s reply, he pulled out his phone and pretended to make a call. "Hello, President Liu? Yes, I’m on my way. I’ll be there very soon, okay..."
He walked further and further away as he talked, not even noticing he was holding his phone upside down.
Ye Xiu shook his head with a smile. That guy is a lost cause.
Just then, his phone rang. It was Qin Qing.
"Little Xiuxiu, would you accompany your beloved sweetheart to a class reunion tonight?"
Ye Xiu shuddered, feeling a mountain of goosebumps rise on his skin. "Can you please speak normally?"
"Get your ass over to the Zhulu Group and pick me up," Qin Qing retorted.
What kind of woman did I marry? There’s definitely a screw loose somewhere.
After hanging up, Ye Xiu went to the school gate to wait for a taxi. Soon, one pulled over, and just as Ye Xiu was about to get in, a figure suddenly darted out from behind him and jumped into the car first.
It was none other than Murong.
"Teacher Ye, I’m in a hurry to buy walnuts, so you’ll have to wait for the next car." A sly, vengeful satisfaction crept onto Murong’s icy face.
Ye Xiu couldn’t help but laugh. This girl certainly knew how to hold a grudge.
So, he got in as well, plopping himself right onto Murong’s lap before shutting the door with a THUD.
"You..."
Murong was completely caught off guard. She never would have imagined that a teacher like Ye Xiu could act so shamelessly. It was one thing to fight a student for a taxi, but to audaciously sit on her lap was another thing entirely.
Then, Murong pulled a needle out of nowhere and jabbed Ye Xiu in the buttock.
"OW!"
The pain sent a jolt through Ye Xiu, who let out a cry and nearly shot up into the car’s roof. He quickly pulled the needle out and scrambled to the side. "Hey, are you the reincarnation of some evil torturer? Why are you carrying around such a huge embroidery needle?"
"To stab hooligans," Murong declared coldly, feeling immensely pleased with herself.
"Are you calling me a hooligan?" Ye Xiu asked.
"Aren’t you?" Murong retorted.
"Alright, I am." Just as he was about to retaliate, an idea struck him and he feigned compromise. "Alright, alright, you win!"
He opened the door as if to get out, but she suddenly spoke up. "Teacher Ye, can I have your phone number? If I encounter any difficult medical problems, I could call you for advice."
Ye Xiu had been gearing up to continue teasing Murong, but her sudden one-hundred-and-eighty-degree change in attitude made him feel like he had just punched a wad of cotton. Could this girl be a Tai Chi master, a true expert at turning my own strength against me?
Nevertheless, he exchanged phone numbers with her.
"Teacher Ye, I hope you have a good night’s sleep."
Murong got out of the car, leaving Ye Xiu with a baffling farewell.
After watching the taxi drive away, a cunning smile touched Murong’s lips. She ran to a print shop across the street and copied a stack of flyers.
The contents of the flyers varied.
Some read: "Forged Documents," followed by Ye Xiu’s phone number.
Others read: "300 for one session, 900 for the whole night," followed by Ye Xiu’s phone number.
After leaving the print shop, Murong bought some glue and started posting the flyers everywhere. She paid special attention to public restrooms, plastering several on the walls.
The taxi arrived at the Zhulu Building. Just as Ye Xiu got out, his phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.
Puzzled, Ye Xiu answered. Before he could speak, a sleazy voice came through the line. "Hey beautiful, do you make house calls?"
"You have the wrong number." Ye Xiu hung up, not thinking much of it. Getting a wrong number was common enough.
Then his phone rang again. It was another unfamiliar number.
Ye Xiu answered, and a furtive voice asked, "What kind of documents can you make?"
Ye Xiu hung up decisively, still not overly concerned.
Then his phone rang a third time. Another unknown number.
"Hey, beautiful, I’m in room 308 at the Hanting Hotel. Come find me. Money is no issue."
Now, Ye Xiu realized something was wrong. It wasn’t strange for one person to misdial his number. But for three different people to do so in such a short period was definitely not normal.
I’ve been set up by that little vixen Murong!
Ye Xiu quickly made the connection. No wonder the girl had suddenly changed her attitude and left him with such an odd parting message. She had thought of a brilliant way to retaliate!
But this trick was just too dirty!
Ye Xiu immediately set his phone to automatically block calls from unknown numbers. That would stop them from getting through.
