Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Dealing with Zheng Yiwen

After reading all the text messages, Li Bingliang was dumbfounded. All the money from his bank cards had been mysteriously transferred away.

Zheng Yiwen, who was beside him, also saw the messages on Li Bingliang’s phone and asked Ye Xiu in shock, "How did you do that?"

"Just wait. The real surprise is yet to come," Ye Xiu said with a smile.

No sooner had he finished speaking than Li Bingliang’s father called.

"Liangliang, has something happened over there?"

"How did you know?" Li Bingliang asked.

"All the money in our family’s bank accounts was mysteriously transferred away at the same time," his father said, his voice strained. "Moreover, the funds in Ruiding Pharmaceuticals’ accounts are gone too. All of Ruiding Pharmaceuticals’ clients, partners, suppliers, and spokespeople called at the exact same moment to unilaterally terminate their contracts..."

The voice on the phone was so loud that everyone in the hospital room could hear it, even Ming Yue, who was eavesdropping outside the door.

Everyone was stunned. With just one phone call, Ye Xiu wielded such terrifying power. He had drained all the funds of the Li Family and Ruiding Pharmaceuticals, severing all of Ruiding Pharmaceuticals’ business lifelines. The Li Family was left with nothing but an empty corporate shell and a mountain of bank loans. Next, the other shareholders of Ruiding Pharmaceuticals would be coming after the Li Family for their debts.

It was over. The Li Family and Ruiding Pharmaceuticals were completely finished.

An urgent shout came through the phone. "Speak up! What on earth happened over there?"

"It was Ye Xiu. He just made one phone call, and our family and Ruiding Pharmaceuticals were finished," Li Bingliang said numbly. His phone clattered to the floor, and he slumped down after it. He could no longer worry about how he would live without money; facing Ye Xiu now, his very life was hanging by a thread.

Outside the door, Ming Yue felt as if her bones had dissolved. She slid limply down the wall and crumpled to her knees.

Oh my God! Ye Xiu’s power is this terrifying! With just one phone call, he destroyed the Li Family and Ruiding Pharmaceuticals! Doesn’t that mean... if Ye Xiu wanted to, destroying the Ming Family and the Ming Corporation would be a breeze?

She shakily took out her phone and composed a message to her family, telling them to hurry and withdraw their money from the bank. Cash was the safest option now.

"How did you do that?"

Inside the room, Zheng Yiwen was now overwhelmed by a much greater terror. As the wife of the Ye Family’s head, she knew exactly how much power was required to destroy the Li Family and Ruiding Pharmaceuticals in such a short time. Even a behemoth like the Ye Family couldn’t do it. But Ye Xiu had. It was impossible to imagine just how terrifying his strength truly was.

"What’s it like to meet the devil?" Ye Xiu didn’t answer her question, asking one of his own with a mocking tone.

Feelings? She couldn’t describe how she felt. She was like a computer infected with a virus, completely short-circuited.

"Alright, you’ve met the devil. Now let’s talk about how to deal with all of you." Ye Xiu sat on the bed and planted his foot on Huang Xinming’s head. Pulling a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, he lit one and took a deep drag. "Don’t worry," he said, exhaling smoke, "you definitely won’t die. I don’t feel like killing you yet. So, how about this? You can each choose your punishment."

"I..." Huang Xinming was the first to speak, but Ye Xiu stomped on his mouth.

"You’ve already been dealt with. Shut up!"

Huang Xinming fell silent.

"I am your stepmother!" Zheng Yiwen steeled herself and glared at Ye Xiu. "Daring to touch me is an act of utter disrespect!"

SLAP!

Ye Xiu sprang up and slapped Zheng Yiwen so hard she flew off her feet and crashed to the ground. Her left cheek instantly swelled up like a puffy bun.

"Cut the crap about moral blackmail. That stuff is for constraining people with morals. Do I look like a moral person to you?" Ye Xiu kicked Zheng Yiwen aside. "I’ll deal with you in a moment."

He then turned his icy gaze on Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan. "Have you two made your choice?"

"A warrior can be killed, but not insulted," Yue Chengfeng said coldly as he trembled back to his feet.

"Kill me if you want. If I so much as frown, I’m your lapdog," Luo Senyuan said defiantly.

"Oh? Playing tough, are we?" Ye Xiu sneered. "How about this? You two go downstairs and loudly sing a cheerful song. We’ll consider that your punishment."

Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan exchanged a look. "Okay!"

With that, they ran out of the hospital room.

Ye Xiu: "..."

Zheng Yiwen: "..."

Li Bingliang: "..."

What happened to their pride? Weren’t they acting so tough just a moment ago? Why did they give in so quickly?

Ye Xiu dragged Zheng Yiwen and Li Bingliang to the window. "Come, let’s enjoy the concert by Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan."

Zheng Yiwen’s expression was utterly foul. Ye Xiu was clearly humiliating Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan, and by extension, humiliating her and the Ye Family.

At that moment, Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan ran downstairs. They deliberately positioned themselves directly below Ye Xiu’s hospital room and began to wail at the top of their lungs.

"The little conch toots like hell, the seagulls hear and fly like hell! The little conch toots like hell, the penguins hear and go ’Heh, heh, heh’..."

PFFT!

Ye Xiu couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

My God, that "heh heh heh"... He had only asked them to sing a cheerful song; he never expected the two old-timers to pick something like this. And to think these two were Eighth Grade Grandmasters, respected seniors in the Ancient Martial Circle. Who would have thought they’d secretly learned such a worldview-shattering nursery rhyme?

"A fish rots from the head down. No wonder there isn’t a single normal person in the Ye Family." Ye Xiu laughed and turned to Zheng Yiwen. "Have you decided how I should deal with you?"

"I’m your stepmother. You wouldn’t dare do anything to me," Zheng Yiwen said confidently. In her mind, if Ye Xiu had really intended to harm her, he would have done so already instead of wasting so many words.

"Stepmother?" Ye Xiu sneered. "Back then, you seduced Ye Zhong and convinced him to expel my mother and me from the Ye Family. Ten years ago, you directed the Li Family to work with major hospitals and pharmaceutical companies to ruin me. You even hired killers who murdered my mother and my grandparents. I have ten thousand reasons to slice you into a thousand pieces, and you think I wouldn’t dare to touch you?"

"Just try me!" Zheng Yiwen remained defiant.

"Alright. As you wish." Ye Xiu took out his phone and made a call. "Have Zheng Yiwen spend the rest of her life kneeling at my mother’s grave in repentance. Send someone to deliver her food every day and watch her around the clock."

"Humph!" Zheng Yiwen snorted. "Stop bluffing. You don’t have the guts to touch me."

The words had barely left her mouth when two grim-faced young men entered and dragged her away, one on each side.

Only then did Zheng Yiwen finally believe his threats were real. She began to scream, "Ye Xiu! Ye Xiu, I was wrong! Please, I’m begging you, choose another punishment! Please!"

Now she admits she was wrong? What took her so long?
