Medical and Martial God-Chapter 316: A Cure for All Kinds of Discontent
"An Dongye’s comprehensive sniping skills are still a far cry from the Gun God’s," Ye Xiu sighed. Now that An Dongye was defeated, Smith’s time was also up.
"Smith, our battle truly begins now!" Ye Xiu roared, his body suddenly growing elusive, as if he were dancing.
This scene completely baffled Qing Luan, the Red Flame Army, and the members of the Special Combat Team.
"Why on earth did Huang Quan suddenly start dancing?" Qing Luan said, the corner of her mouth twitching.
The Red Flame Army and the Special Combat Team members were also speechless. Although Huang Quan had slain three snipers with his sword, the Gun God was still alive, so it wasn’t the time to get cocky. Was he not afraid of being obliterated by a single shot from the Gun God?
"Oh no, my little brother has lost it!"
An Dongye, originally despondent over her loss to the Gun God, was terrified when she saw Ye Xiu suddenly start dancing. Forgetting all about her defeat, she scrambled to her feet to get to him.
"Ghost Dance, it’s the Ghost Dance! I’m finally witnessing the world’s most mysterious movement technique and footwork again!" Chloe exclaimed, her eyes blazing with excitement.
"Huh?" An Dongye was flabbergasted. "You’re telling me that dance, with its square-dancing-auntie posture and I-really-have-to-pee legwork, is some kind of movement technique?"
"You’ll see how terrifying the Ghost Dance is in a moment," Chloe said, her eyes fixed on the gracefully dancing Ye Xiu. In all her years following him, she had only seen him perform the Ghost Dance once. This was the second time.
"Ghost Dance?"
When Smith saw Ye Xiu dancing, he froze as if struck by lightning. This... Isn’t this Huang Quan’s Ghost Dance technique? How does Ye Xiu know it? A revelation suddenly flashed through his mind. Ye Xiu is Huang Quan?
In that moment, Smith finally understood why Dragon Hollyhock, Long Bo, the Tiansha Association, and the Shen Family had been no match for Ye Xiu and were so thoroughly played by him. It was because Ye Xiu was Huang Quan!
"Huang Quan, time to die!"
A startling battle intent ignited within Smith, and he grew as excited as if he were on drugs. He decisively pulled the trigger.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Four shots in one second! The bullets sped toward Ye Xiu’s forehead, lower abdomen, and his left and right flanks. This was a barrage Ye Xiu couldn’t escape, whether he ducked, jumped, or dodged sideways. The four bullets had completely sealed off his every path to survival.
This was a move Smith had developed specifically to counter the Ghost Dance technique.
Firing four shots in one second was a feat only Smith could accomplish, as no other sniper rifle in the world could support that rate of fire. However, Smith’s rifle was one he had personally modified, with power and a rate of fire that far surpassed a standard Barrett. Furthermore, his bullets were custom-made to explode on impact. Anyone hit was guaranteed to die.
"Heavens..."
Through the surveillance cameras monitoring Smith’s hiding place, Qing Luan, the Red Flame Army, and the Special Combat Team all saw him fire four shots in one second. They could hardly believe such a terrifying individual with such a fearsome sniper rifle existed.
Even a War God like Qing Luan knew she couldn’t pull it off. While they could fire dozens of shots a second with other weapons, what kind of sniper rifle could handle such a high rate of fire? Most critically, the recoil from rapid-fire sniping would severely impact accuracy.
"It’s over!" the captain of the Special Combat Team exclaimed. Although he didn’t know the bullets’ exact trajectories, he was certain that no one could dodge four shots in one second.
However, in the next moment, Qing Luan and the others watched as Ye Xiu’s figure vanished from the screen! An Dongye and Chloe also saw that Ye Xiu was gone, as if he had disappeared into thin air!
"Where did he go?"
Smith’s expression changed instantly. Four shots a second—the very move he had developed to counter Huang Quan. Yet all four bullets had struck the ground. Huang Quan was gone!
"Not good!"
Realizing something was terribly wrong, Smith grabbed his rifle and prepared to change his position. But the moment he opened the door, he saw Ye Xiu standing there, expressionless.
"At this very moment, do you feel despair?"
Ye Xiu moved like a bolt of lightning, and in the next instant, Smith discovered his sniper rifle was now in Ye Xiu’s hands.
"You... you... are you a man or a ghost?" Smith stammered, backing away in terror as if looking at an apparition.
Qing Luan, the Red Flame Army, and the Special Combat Team members were all staring in disbelief. A few seconds ago, Ye Xiu was outside. Now, he had appeared at the door of the innermost room on the third floor. Was that humanly possible?
"The rumor was that the Gun God attempted to assassinate Huang Quan nine times and managed to retreat unscathed despite failing. But now... their power levels aren’t even in the same ballpark. The gap is just too vast," the Special Combat Team captain said in shock.
"So much for rumors," Qing Luan sighed.
Smith was struggling with this very question. He retreated in terror until his back hit a wall. "Why? It’s been over a year since we last met. How has your strength improved so much?"
His own abilities had improved as well. It wasn’t just his marksmanship or grasp of strategy; his power had even surpassed that of a War God. There was no reason for the gap between him and Huang Quan to be this enormous.
"The nine times we fought before, I was simply learning how to snipe from you. That’s why I never killed you, despite your nine assassination attempts," Ye Xiu sneered disdainfully. "But your mouth is like a loose waistband; it has no filter. You go around boasting that your strength is comparable to mine. Your skills are indeed worthy of the title ’Gun God,’ but the only reason the global Underworld fears you is because of all the hot air you’ve been blowing."
Hearing Ye Xiu’s words, Qing Luan, the Red Flame Army, and the Special Combat Team finally understood. The so-called rumors had been spread by the Gun God himself.
Damn! This guy had to be the world’s number one braggart!
"Impossible... impossible..."
Smith’s pride took a critical hit. He couldn’t accept the fact that Huang Quan had merely been using him for target practice. For years, he had been so proud, so smug, that he’d fought the fearsome Huang Quan to a standstill nine times. Whenever he heard others discuss how terrifying Huang Quan was, he would scoff with disdain. But it turned out that all this time, Huang Quan had just been toying with him, using him for target practice like a personal firing range.
"I won’t accept this!"
Smith’s composure shattered. He drew a Dagger and charged at Ye Xiu in a frenzy.
SLAP!
Ye Xiu sent Smith sprawling to the floor with a single slap. "I specialize in curing all forms of defiance," he said coldly.
Smith lay on the ground, his head buzzing. A second ago, he was the Gun God who believed himself Huang Quan’s equal. The next, he was utterly helpless in Huang Quan’s hands. Smith couldn’t accept such a drastic, crushing reversal.
"You used to be an assassin with principles and integrity. I respected and admired you, which is why I never intended to kill you," Ye Xiu said, pinning Smith’s head to the ground with his foot and raising the Bronze Sword. "But you never should have thrown in your lot with the Long Family. To help them eliminate me, you became a despicable lowlife who would stop at nothing, even using the lives of an entire kindergarten class as a bargaining chip."
"Smith, you have fallen. Therefore, you must die!"
As he finished speaking, the Bronze Sword began to descend. Seeing this, Smith suddenly roared, "I’ll take you down with me!"
As he spoke, he quickly pulled a Medicinal Pill from his pocket and shoved it into his mouth...
