Medical and Martial God-Chapter 159: You Know Too Much
PFFT!
Dragon Hollyhock suddenly came to her senses, almost choking with anger. So, Ye Xiu had urged her to call the Long Family just to lure them into sending someone here! And she had actually believed his nonsense.
"You could have just said I was dead!" Dragon Hollyhock demanded. "No matter how it happened, the Long Family would have definitely sent people to Jin Ye City. Why did you have to tell them I fell into a filthy ditch?"
"Are you a pig? No, forget it, that’s an insult to pigs. A pig is a high-IQ creature compared to you." Ye Xiu was amazed by her line of thinking, but he explained patiently, "Now that Qing Luan has gone to Sang Jing for the reorganization of the War God Ranking, there’s no one in all of Jin Ye City who can defeat you—a warrior with the strength of a War God—except for the retired Huang Quan.
"Furthermore, everyone knows that Huang Quan is the only person in the world with the power of God Slaying. If I told the Long Family you were dead, they would immediately suspect he killed you. Would they still dare to send anyone to Jin Ye City then?
"But by saying you drowned in a filthy ditch, they might not believe it, but they’ll never suspect Huang Quan. After all, he’s never been one to hide his work..."
As Dragon Hollyhock listened to his explanation, a completely absurd and unbelievable thought began to form in her mind. She asked tentatively, "I have the power of a War God. Even though I’m just a novice, even the number one person on the War God Ranking couldn’t easily kill me. If I can’t win, I can always escape.
"But I couldn’t withstand a single move from you. Your speed left me in despair.
"So... you... you’re Huang Quan?"
This guess was ludicrous! Yet, she had to consider it. Besides Huang Quan, who else in the world could toy with a War God so effortlessly?
"Oh, you figured it out? Not bad, not bad. That little brain of yours isn’t useless after all," Ye Xiu said mockingly.
CLANG!
The confirmation that Ye Xiu was Huang Quan struck Dragon Hollyhock’s heart like a hammer blow. A terrifying gloom washed over her, draining the color from her face and causing her body to tremble violently.
A man’s reputation casts a long shadow, and the name Huang Quan was a terror known throughout the world. Across billions of people and hundreds of nations, no one could face him without fear. The terror Dragon Hollyhock felt at this moment was unprecedented.
She had fallen into the hands of Huang Quan himself. Worse, he was sitting right on top of her. It was a tremendous test of her mental fortitude. The fact that she hadn’t been scared to death was impressive enough.
"If you’re Huang Quan, then who was the one at the airport a while ago?" Dragon Hollyhock asked, her voice trembling. Her mind was reeling with questions, and despite her fear, curiosity drove her to seek answers.
"That was a counterfeit. He died the same day," Ye Xiu said flatly.
"You already slaughtered everyone on the War God Ranking, so why did you allow the Tiansha Association to reorganize it?" she pressed on.
"First, I never forbade them from reorganizing the War God Ranking," Ye Xiu stated. "Second, reorganizing it was the only way to lure the Eight Great National Protector War Gods away from Xuanse. Only then would the Long Family and the Tiansha Association feel bold enough to send people to Jin Ye City to kill me."
"With your power, you could have wiped out the Long Family and the Tiansha Association directly. Why go through all this trouble just to lure us to Jin Ye City and toy with us?" she asked.
At the mention of this, Ye Xiu’s expression turned savage. "Ten years ago, the Long Family gave the order, and Zheng Yiwen masterminded the plot. Hundreds of pharmaceutical companies, private hospitals, and renowned medical experts from across the country conspired to ruin me. They took the lives of my mother and my grandparents. Do you think letting all of you die a simple death would be getting off too easily?"
Dragon Hollyhock’s heart shuddered. "You intend to use the same methods on the Long Family and the Tiansha Association as you did on Ming Yue’s people?"
"Exactly," Ye Xiu nodded.
Dragon Hollyhock fell silent. She had asked all her questions, and now she regretted it. Knowing the answers only filled her with greater terror and despair.
"Any more questions?" Ye Xiu asked coldly.
"No more!" Dragon Hollyhock stammered, trembling.
"Then I’ll send you on your way," Ye Xiu said, his hand closing around the nape of her neck.
"Wait!" she cried out in fear. "You—you said you were going to deal with the Long Family and the Tiansha Association the same way you dealt with Ming Yue’s people! Why are you killing me?"
"You know too much."
"I... I didn’t want to know this much! You’re the one who told me, I—"
Before she could finish, Ye Xiu snapped her neck.
"Clean this up."
Ye Xiu stood up from Dragon Hollyhock’s body and began walking toward the hunting ground. Just then, Leng Yue emerged from a nearby hiding spot and silently carried away the corpse.
As Ye Xiu walked toward the hunting ground, he realized that Qiancheng Farm was an ideal location. He had been worrying about how to train the Red Flame Army, stuck on both the methods and the venue. Qiancheng Farm, however, was a perfect secret training ground. It was secluded in the mountains, close to Tu Mountain Manor, spacious enough, and already equipped with food, drink, and lodging.
Perfect. This is the place.
He immediately called Ding Manlin, the vice-chairman of Zhulu Group. "Contact the owner of Qiancheng Farm. I want to meet him at the farm’s hunting ground."
"You could just give me the order to handle it, sir. There’s no need for you to get involved personally," Ding Manlin said.
"I want to buy Qiancheng Farm," Ye Xiu stated.
"Qiancheng Farm’s business is booming, and it has excellent prospects," she replied. "I’m afraid the owner won’t be willing to sell."
"Heh. Is there anyone who dares refuse to sell me something?" Ye Xiu asked.
A dark expression crossed Ding Manlin’s face on the other end of the line. "You’re not planning to force a sale, are you? From what I know, the owner of Qiancheng Farm is a good person."
Forcing a sale was nothing new to Ye Xiu. Two years ago, while leading the Blood Cloth Guards on a sweep through the City of Asura, he’d taken a fancy to several diamond, gold, and rare metal mines. However, they were all controlled by a notoriously villainous local power. Ye Xiu had approached them to buy the mines, but they flatly refused. So, he made an offer: one dime. Of course, only a fool would sell for that. He then began raising his offer, but with a catch: for every dime he added to the price, he killed one of their men. By the time his offer reached one thousand yuan, only the leader of the organization was left alive. He finally agreed to the sale.
"I’ll use money this time, not a blade," Ye Xiu said.
"Alright then," Ding Manlin relented.
After the call ended, Ye Xiu called Sang Qiuyu. "Bring your men and meet me at the Qiancheng Farm hunting ground immediately."
By this time, Ye Xiu had already arrived at the hunting ground. It was a massive area enclosed by a high wall, containing not only all sorts of game animals but also orchards, a horse track, a shooting range, and other facilities.
Upon entering, Ye Xiu saw Qin Qing, An Dongye, and Feng Wanli racing around, sending the animals scattering in a panic. What are they doing?
