Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 472: Is This All A One Big Coincidence?
(Author’s POV)
Myra was listening to Amy’s words attentively. Her eyes were well up as well. She knew the feeling of abandonment very well. She had experienced it first-hand. So, now thinking about how Amy must have felt, must have endured all that~ .... she couldn’t help but feel emotional.
"Denver didn’t let me go to school, telling me to just resume my studies after giving birth, that it would be too stressful for me. My condition wasn’t that good, so after much contemplation, I agreed. My pregnancy was distressing for obvious reasons. Vienna would also visit sometimes with home-cooked meals, telling me that she was still trying her best to convince our parents. That once the baby is born, they would melt. Just like always, she told me not to worry. And once again, I trusted her. Never questioned what she had told them."
By the tremor in her voice, Myra could tell how much damage the betrayal had done to Amy.
"Denver~ ... to make me feel at ease. He even suggested an intimate wedding ceremony at his place. He said he invited my friend, Perry, but she refused unceremoniously. Vienna also said she would try to bring mom, dad and Lucas as well. But on the wedding day, she came all alone. I still didn’t question any of them and smiled through it all. Thinking this too shall pass. After that, months passed by in a flash~ .... with my daily routine filled with interacting with Denver, Vienna or the private doctor. At that time, my mind was too clouded, my hormones were always fluctuating, so I didn’t know they weren’t caring for me but were trying to isolate me from the world."
Grief and rage took over Amy once again, but she didn’t stop there, "I was looking forward to your birth. I had stocked different clothes for your arrival in several colours. I filled an entire room for you. I was so happy and just talked to you for hours straight. The day when you were born~ ... it was 16th October. Denver had an exam. He said he wanted to stay, as I have just hit the eighth month, but I told him to go. Vienna was there with me. When my water broke, she drove me. She wanted to take me to my regular doctor, but I couldn’t hold on much, so I urged her to take me to a nearby hospital instead. She was reluctant, but my condition wasn’t very good, so she had to relent."
Myra’s eyebrows creased a little when she heard the date. Her birth date was the same as Nora and Elio’s. ’We share the same birth date. Is this just a coincidence?’ She felt something off about this.
Meanwhile, Amy kept on going, her eyes crinkled a bit, "When the doctor showed me your tiny little self. I was overjoyed. All the tiredness, my grievance, my confusion, the fogginess in my mind cleared away in that moment. You were the best thing that ever happened to me, Myra. When I saw you, that elated feeling was something I had never felt. But my happiness, it didn’t last long." The brief smile on her face that had appeared vanished completely.
"You were taken to the hospital’s nursery after that, but soon, the nurse came nervously~ ... She told me that someone had taken you away from me, that you were stolen. I was devastated by the news. It shattered me," saying this, Amy looked away. There was too much pain reflected in her eyes. She was not just telling this all to Myra, her daughter. She was living that dreadful time once again. She thought she was over all this sadness and pain, but she wasn’t, clearly.
"I looked for you high and low. Denver also pulled every string to search for you or any sign from your kidnapper, but we were never able to find you," she mumbled softly. "For days, we looked everywhere without resting, but all in vain." She then looked straight at Myra and uttered, "Myra, I really love you. You are my flesh and blood. I didn’t want to be separated from you. Believe me, believe me," there was earnestness mixed with immense sorrow.
As Myra was about to open her mouth, the door opened. A nurse stepped in, followed by William, Sandra, Wendy, and Fabian. Lastly, Sebastian also entered. With one glance, they all could instantly sense the solemn atmosphere. Neither of them said anything about what they were talking about. Sandra looked at Amy and Myra’s clasped hands and felt an ick in her chest.
William just asked, his voice low, "Myra, did you have a good talk with Mrs. Garcia?" She glanced in Amy’s direction and nodded. William nodded as well. The nurse glanced at the crowd and said, her voice polite yet strict, "The patient needs to rest now. Extra members need to leave." She then looked at Amy and added, "Patient, you are from the room next door? You need to return to your room and rest as well. Your blood pressure was quite high."
Sandra looked at the Garcia couple and said, "Mr. and Mrs. Garcia, it would be wise if you both return for now. Myra needs to rest."
Amy chewed her lower lip. With a heavy heart, she finally let go of Myra’s and nodded, saying, "You are right, Mrs. Miracle. I will come another time." As she got up from the seat, Sebastian was there to support her. He held her as they started walking.
Seeing their receding figures, Myra felt complicated. There were tons of questions swirling around inside her brain. She wanted to know about Vienna, about Denver, about a lot of things. So, when Amy was just about to cross the threshold of the room, she called her out, "Mr~s. .... Mrs. Garcia?"
Amy looked back with hope. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Myra muttered, "Can you~ ... can you tell me the place you were at when all this happened?"
Amy blinked repeatedly and said, "It was~ .... KIMBERG."
