Chapter 431: At The Larson Mansion

(Author’s POV)

"Why are you here?" Fabian panicked as his eyes landed on Dion, who walked into the living room casually.

Dion, who had just come out to get some water, was still clearly sleepy. He rubbed his eyes and answered him with a question of his own. His tone remained nonchalant, his right eyebrow was arched, "Am I not supposed to be here, huhh?"

Fabian looked at Alaric, his questioning gaze was a mix of fury and irritation. He had trusted him, thinking that Myra was with Dion and was probably safe. Without taking his eyes off of Alaric, he asked Dion, "Did you leave the mansion at any point?"

Dion was puzzled by those weird questions; he ruffled his hand, a clear sign of frustration. Realizing the tension building up, Nora answered in his stead, "Brother Dio has been at the mansion all along. Mr. Stephens~ .... Brother Al, did something happen? Why are you asking that?"

Now finding out that Dion didn’t even step out of the mansion and probably had no idea about Myra, Fabian was thoroughly incensed. Any shred of sympathy or even a tiny bit of camaraderie he felt in the car for him vanished instantly.

Fabian’s face contorted into anger. He took long, imposing strides toward Alaric and squared another punch on his face, the same place where he had punched before.

Alaric’s already pale face turned ashen. He didn’t dodge and, as a result, stumbled back, landing on the floor in an awkward position.

"BROTHER AL," Nora screamed, seeing the sudden brawl breaking out. She rushed to Alaric’s side, supporting him, Are you alright?" She then glared at Fabian, her expression perplexed, "Why did you do that?" Her tone was not so friendly.

At this point, Fabian had lost all control of his sanity. He wanted to beat the pulp out of Alaric. He once again approached the two figures on the floor. Just when he was about to reach, Dion dashed towards him, picked Fabian up with one hand like a sack of potatoes and threw him aside.

Fabian couldn’t even process what had just happened. Even if he did, he was no match for someone like a Lycan Alpha. Like a ragged doll, he was, quite unceremoniously, flung away. He fell back onto the hard wooden armrest of the couch with a jarring thud. A guttural groan escaped his mouth.

Dion spat a warning, his eyes intense, "Don’t you dare lay a hand on my people, human." He walked towards him again, eyes now a darker shade of green and shining like gold.

Nora’s eyes widened. Seeing her brother’s face, she feared for Fabian’s life, "Brother Dio, don’t do that." But Dion was really pissed off by Fabian’s attitude. He saw this as an opportunity to show his absolute dominance. He wanted to instil fear in that sketchy Fabian.

Alaric, who was deeply engrossed in his turbulent thoughts, fight Alex, snapped back to reality. Before Dion could do anything, he uttered, "Dion, leave him be."

Dion still refused to listen. Fabian was ready to throw some punches as well. But Alaric’s thunderous, catastrophic roar stilled everything, "I said~ .... STOPPPPPP~~ ...." His voice reverberated. He emanated his Lycan aura to make both of them halt. His eyes turned dark, almost navy.

Fabian felt the heavy, unsettling burden of the aura; he was on his knees now, unable to speak or move. He was trying to fight it, but it was of no use.

Normally, Nora and Dion would have been unaffected because all of them possessed the same blood, but as Alaric was named the Lycan heir, naturally, he had higher authority. His siblings stopped whatever they were doing and looked at him.

After a while, his eye color shifted back to normal. Nora immediately asked, once again, "Mr. Stephens, what is going on? Why did you attack Brother Al?"

"BECAUSE YOUR FUCKING BROTHER DESERVES THAT," Fabian got up and erupted. Holding his back, he walked out of the mansion, took out his phone and called his aide.

Gunnar picked it up in a mere second as he heard Fabian’s raging voice, "Halt all operations and find her whereabouts~ .... NOW." He didn’t let him speak and disconnected the call at once.

Just before crossing the threshold, he looked back at the three Everests siblings, disgust and anger evident in his eyes, "If I don’t find her safe and well, werewolf or not, you will come face to face with my fury. And I won’t be polite at all." With that, he walked out completely. The sound of the car’s engine roaring and disappearing was heard.

’Al, what was that guy blabbering? What’s going on?" Dion questioned. "Who is he talking about?" He sensed something was off. "What is happening?"

Pinching his nose bridge, Alaric said, "Nothing~ .... I have something important to deal with. Dio, you stay here with Nora and look after the mansion." He, too, intended to walk out, but Dion wasn’t having it.

He blocked Alaric’s way, "Al, tell me? What’s going on? What are you hiding?"

"It’s not the time, Dio. I need to~ ...." Alaric refused to say anything.

"You need to tell me first," Dion remained adamant. He mindlinked Alaric this time, ’Was he~ .... was he, by chance, talking about Myra? Did something happen to him?’

Alaric wasn’t surprised that Dion was quick on the uptake. He licked his lips and decided to come clean, ’Yes, someone did happen to her. And now she is missing.’

"MISSING?" Dion said it out loud. His eyes blazing. ’What the hell happened, Al? What do you mean, she’s missing?’

’This can wait. I need to find her first,’ Alaric answered, getting clearly impatient.

"Brothers?" Nora interrupted. "Who’s missing? Why are you guys not telling me anything?"

Before Dion could say anything, Alaric said, "It’s one of my aide, Shade. You also know him." He felt guilty for lying, but what could he do? He had to. He couldn’t tell his sister.

"I need to find him, fast," he uttered, desperation creeping in. Nora nodded in understanding, though she was a bit sceptical.

"Al, I am coming with you," Dion insisted.

"NOOOO~ .... You can’t," Alaric spoke, "You need to be here. I will keep you both updated." He assured Dion. shrugged Dion off and walked out.

As soon as he settled inside his car, he mind linked Brave, but the latter had blocked the link. He then mind linked Elio, who told him that Brave didn’t come due to some important work and that he was currently at the hotel.

After that, Alaric kept on calling as well as tried to mind link his twin, both went unanswered. Like a madman, he searched for Myra left, right and center. But obviously, couldn’t find even a strand of her hair.

Just like him, Fabian and Gunnar have had no luck as well. It was as if Myra had completely disappeared from the scene. Even on his home turf, he wasn’t able to find Myra.

Aggravated and thwarted, Alaric came back to the mansion at around seven thirty in the morning. By this time, he had one thing confirmed. Myra and Brave, for sure, were together.
