Chapter 43: First time on the stage

Silas’s POV

"Yes, everything is going to be fine. No need to be nervous." Even though I kept repeating this to myself, my legs were trembling, and I started to sweat because I was hella nervous.

"Silas, there’s something on your neck."

"Where?" I started touching my neck, trying to feel whatever was there.

"Your shirt’s thread has come loose... Come here, let me cut it."

I moved closer to Lysander, and with his teeth, he bit off the thread. Then, he looked at me with a smile. I smiled back, but my smile felt weird because I didn’t really want to smile.

"Do you have water? I’m kinda thirsty... probably because I’m nervous."

Lysander handed me a mini water bottle, and I drank the whole thing in one go. After finishing, I glanced at Lysander, who was staring at me with wide eyes.

"What happened? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing... you sure were thirsty." ƒгeewebnovёl.com

I drank the whole bottle—was that why he was saying that?

After twenty minutes, we finally reached the venue. I peeked outside from the car since they couldn’t see us from outside. There were so many fans—both male and female—standing there, most of them holding banners with Lysander’s name and his photos.

As I was peeking out, Lysander suddenly opened the car door from outside. I quickly turned back. He was sitting beside me just a second ago—when did he even get out?

"Come out. You were so lost when I called you, so I had to come and personally escort you."

I grabbed Lysander’s hand and stepped out. As soon as we did, countless camera flashes went off. For a moment, I felt like I was going blind, but then Lysander grabbed my hand tightly.

"Just smile while looking straight ahead. There are many cameras," he whispered.

I looked up, and after a moment, I got used to the flashing lights. Paparazzi were everywhere, snapping non-stop pictures, and fans were taking photos too.

"SILAS!"

Hearing my name being shouted, I hurriedly glanced in that direction. A girl was standing there, holding a poster with my drama’s cover photo—one where I was staring directly into the camera. She looked so happy.

I gave her a gentle smile, and she started jumping excitedly while holding the cover.

I didn’t expect my fans to be here too. I thought only Lysander’s fans would show up. Once the drama is fully released, more people will recognize me, and maybe then, I’ll have even more fans.

"Let’s go, Silas."

Lysander and I walked inside. The moment we entered, I saw that every cast member was already there—including Ciel. Director Wang approached us.

"You both are looking good, but Lysander, when will you ever give up your habit of being late?"

"Director Wang, you know I need to look handsome for my fans."

"Yeah, yeah... And Silas, you’re looking gorgeous too. By the way, after the trailer released, there are many fans who start to like you and want to meet you. Make sure to meet them."

"This is your opportunity to build a loyal fan base, okay, Silas?"

I nodded, and we entered the theater. Lysander and I sat side by side. Then, I glanced to my other side—Ciel was sitting there.

What the hell? Why is he sitting next to me?

I really didn’t want to deal with him. Just then, the crew members also came in and took their seats. The first episode started playing.

I couldn’t believe my eyes. The person on the screen... was me? I looked so badass!

I didn’t know that after editing, it would look this cool...

Just then, Lysander’s elbow touched mine, so I glanced at him.

"See? Our chemistry looks so good. When this episode premieres on TV in two hours, fans are definitely going to ship us."

"Shut up, Lysander. I want to watch the drama. Don’t disturb me."

"Me or the drama—choose one. But you can choose both too."

"Drama."

"Heartless, Silas."

Lysander pouted but went back to focusing on the drama. I did too. We didn’t even realize when 45 minutes had passed.

Director Wang then stood up and walked onto the stage to give a speech.

"Hello, everyone. As you know, I love to take on challenges—things that seem impossible, I love making them possible."

"And for this drama, I want to give special thanks to two people. First, Mr. Damon, for his support. And second, Silas... The main character of Love or Hate was just a vision in my imagination. But when I met Silas, I realized—no, Silas is the reality of my character."

Hearing that, I felt so happy.

I noticed Damon was also there. After a while, we all stepped out of the theater, where a big stage was waiting for us, with so many fans and reporters in front of us.

Lysander started walking towards the stage while holding my hand. Just then, someone grabbed my other hand from behind. I quickly turned around—it was Ciel. He was smiling at the reporters and cameras while holding my hand.

I jerked his hand away. "Don’t touch me."

Then, I walked up onto the stage.

As we stood there, I noticed Ciel was sticking too close to me—like he knew exactly how to get into the spotlight.

I waved at the fans.

"WOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Fans started screaming excitedly, and seeing their enthusiasm made me happy. But what annoyed me was how Ciel was acting like we were close or something.

Just then, the MC handed the mic to Lysander.

As soon as he took the mic, his fans went crazy.

"LYSANDERRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

"DADDY, YOU’RE SO HOTTTTTT!"

Woah. His fans are bold, I’ll give them that.

And Lysander? He was no better. He bit his lip slightly, smirking, giving them that sexy look—and his fans went even crazier.

"My lovely fans, you’re all here to see me, and I’m so happy to know that. But please control yourselves because I’m such an innocent person."

And just as he said that, he threw a flying kiss toward them.

I was like—yes, I can totally see how innocent you are, Mr. Flirty.

Then, he passed the mic to me.

As soon as the mic was in my hand, the entire place went silent.

Everyone was looking at me without any expression.

Seeing their sudden change in reaction, I got nervous. What should I even say? They’re not my fans, so of course, they won’t be happy listening to me.

Just then, I noticed her—the girl from earlier.

She wasn’t standing in front, but when I held the mic, she stepped forward, trying to see me.

Seeing her gave me confidence.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Silas, and I happen to be the main character in this drama. I... don’t really know what to say. This is my first time standing on a stage like this, so I’m really nervous. I wasn’t even this nervous when I was shooting for the first time, but here..."
