Mated to Four Alphas-Chapter 285: Flashback - 25
Chapter 285: Flashback - 25
Silas’s POV
It was Kael standing there. What was he doing here? That’s what my mind was asking me, but I was unable to understand and just stepped out of the bathroom leaving that candle holder inside. And stood there. How did he reach here? He was in the cave, wasn’t he, when Damon and I left from there?
"What are you doing here?" I asked. My attention went to the door, which was locked—meaning he had locked it—and his awkward facial expressions while looking around. Even when I asked, he was hesitating to answer. Orian also came out from the bathroom and stood behind me.
"Isn’t he that Alpha?" Orian also recognized him.
"Kael, didn’t you hear what I asked?"
He took steps forward but didn’t come much closer. He just stood there.
"I was worried about you, that’s why I came here... Sorry if I scared or disturbed you, but I didn’t mean to do that."
I glanced back at Orian. He didn’t have much of a reaction—he was only looking at me. But still, I couldn’t understand how he was able to get in.
"First, tell me how you came in, ’cause I know our guards don’t slack around usually. So if you came inside, they must have tried to stop you." Even if I know Kael, still I can’t let this thing go without asking him anything.
’Cause he was able to sneak into my room—who knows, what if tomorrow someone else does this? Then what am I supposed to do?
"Actually, I was the driver who gave you a ride here. You didn’t see ’cause you were in a daze. I was worried about you, that’s why I came, and when I saw you crying in front of your father, I snuck in." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Ohh, so that’s what happened. He was the driver. Well, I didn’t see the driver’s face, so I don’t know if he’s telling the truth or not, but for the sake of our friendship, I am willing to believe him.
"I am fine. You have seen me, now leave." I am not in the mood to spend time with Kael right now. I appreciate that he came all the way here ’cause he was worried about me, but that doesn’t mean he particularly did anything to help me other than just arriving there after everything was over. If they had come at the moment when I was pinned down by those Alphas and they were grabbing my hands and legs forcefully—
If they had come and saved me at that moment, I would have really appreciated it. But their timing was not good after all.
And still, like an idiot, seeing them I was thinking they will hate me now. Why does it matter even if they hate me or not? ’Cause it’s not like they are my mate or something. So I should stop meeting and talking to them for good.
Kael suddenly took out something from his cloak pocket—and they were my daggers, which I had dropped in the cave after seeing them. I really thought I wouldn’t get a chance to see them again, but here my friends have returned to me. I hurriedly took those daggers from Kael’s hands.
"Thank you so much for bringing them back to me," my lovely daggers. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to save myself today. They are like my savior.
After getting the daggers, I realized they were washed ’cause there was no trace of blood on them. It means Kael must have washed them before bringing them to me. He is not a bad person. He is good, but I don’t think anyone is that good to be my mate—’cause to be my mate, he will have to accept me fully, the way I am, without complaining.
I put the daggers down on the bed and glanced at Kael again, who was standing there without uttering a word.
"Kael... thank you so much. I am really grateful that you brought these back to me." I was smiling, looking at him, but he was not smiling. Sadness was hovering on his face. His eyes seemed red. I noticed tears in his eyes. They were welling up—I knew he was about to cry. And I guess Orian also noticed those tears.
"Silas, I have some work, so I’ll go now. Have a good talk," Orian said, leaving while nodding at Kael. After leaving, he closed the door behind him.
Now only Kael and I were in this whole room, and it was really awkward.
"Okay then, I’ll leave now," he said, and I nodded ’cause there was nothing to talk about right now. That’s why I didn’t stop him, and he left from there. Now I was the only one in the room. I went towards the bed and flipping onto the bed on my back.
I don’t know what I should call this feeling I’m feeling right now. I think it’s called a grateful feeling ’cause when he returned my daggers to me, I started to feel happy. Yes, this is only a grateful feeling, nothing else.
I flipped to my right side and touched those daggers while putting them beside me. I’m still angry at those Alphas, but it was bad luck that they all died. If they hadn’t died, I would have confined them in the dungeon and then tortured them myself.
But what can we do now when they’re already dead? And I think it’s good that they all died by my hands, ’cause now they will only go through hell. ’Cause my seat is reserved in hell—so if I kill someone, it means they’re also gonna go into hell.
My eyes were staring at the ceiling, thinking about all the events that happened today. But I don’t want to act like this anymore—that’s why I closed my eyes, ’cause taking a nap is the most important thing in the whole world.
It helps you forget everything. And just gives you peace. I kept my eyes closed for a few minutes, but when I opened them, I realized I was literally sleepy and about to fall asleep. That’s why I closed them again. And this time, I didn’t open my eyes.
"Silas, wake up. Let’s eat something."
