Chapter 269: Flashback - 9
"Damon, what are you doing here?" freёnovelkiss.com
Silas asked, taking a step towards Damon with a smile.
But it was strange that Damon was there, because what Lysander said... the four brothers were supposed to be leaving for another pack.
And they were going to come back tomorrow. Then what was Damon doing here?
"You didn’t go with your brothers, Damon?"
Damon turned towards Silas. His facial expression was serious. But seeing Silas’ smile, that seriousness faded, and his expression became gentle.
"Nope, I didn’t go. Just wanted to surprise you. That’s why I told Lysander not to tell you. But when I came here, I didn’t find you. Where did you go?"
It meant Damon had been waiting for Silas for the last hour.
Since Silas was doing something very dangerous somewhere else, he was nervous—he feared that if Damon found out what he did, Damon might hate him and never talk to him again.
"Actually, I was just strolling around outside the palace. Because you four weren’t here, and I was bored."
Silas tried to explain with a calm voice so that Damon wouldn’t realize how panicked he was and how much nervousness was blooming inside him.
"I see... I finished my work and came to you. Kael said you like snow and wanted to look around, so let’s go—I’ll show you around our pack."
"Sure... wait a minute, let me get my clothes changed."
And just then, Damon noticed a few drops of blood on Silas’s clothes.
"Wait a moment."
Damon came forward and touched Silas’s clothes on his stomach, where he saw those bloodstains.
"Is this blood?"
"No, of course not. It’s not blood. I think this must be color. I touched some paint. The color must have gotten on me. Don’t worry about it."
Hearing Silas, Damon didn’t pay much attention to it. After that, Silas grabbed his clothes and went inside, while Damon sat down on his bed, looking around.
Meanwhile, Silas finally came out, wearing different clothes. As Damon heard the door open, he turned around and saw Silas was all ready—and he looked much more beautiful in his eyes.
"Did you have breakfast?" Damon asked, standing up from the bed.
"Nope, I didn’t. That’s why I’m so hungry right now."
Silas replied and ran toward Damon. Damon offered his hand to Silas, who took it, and then they both left the room.
Damon knew a few places where the breakfast was amazing. That’s why they didn’t eat in the palace and directly got into the carriage.
Damon was sitting in front of Silas in the carriage. Silas sighed in relief that Damon didn’t find out the truth about him.
"Your brother didn’t come. I thought he would also come to the party with you," Damon said.
"Why are you asking? Are you interested in my brother?"
Silas’s face became serious as he asked.
"No, I’m not interested in him at all. I’m interested in you. I just asked because he was with you last time, that’s why," Damon explained calmly.
Hearing those words, Silas felt a sense of relief, and his heart fluttered. Yes—Damon was also interested in him.
"Do you have a boyfriend? No, I didn’t mean to ask directly—I just wanted to know if you’re seeing anyone right now," Damon hesitated but still asked.
"No, I’m single. Totally single and ready to mingle. What about you and your brothers? Are you engaged or single?"
"We’ve been single since birth."
Silas burst into laughter after hearing that. Of course they were single!
"You know, you’re funny," Silas said.
"Yes, and only for you."
Silas’s laughter faded when he heard Damon’s calm and gentle voice say that.
His heart was literally dancing, knowing that Damon was trying to hit on him.
"Damon, do you always hit on any omega, or is it just me?"
"Well, it’s only for you, I guess."
"Then what about your brothers? Do you guys treat any omega the same way you treat me, or is it just for me?"
Damon grinned hearing that. "Yes, it’s only for you."
"If your questions are done, then it’s my turn. Will you answer me, whatever I ask?" Damon asked.
"Yeah, sure. Why not?"
"Where did you go today?"
Silas’s heart skipped a beat in fear when he heard Damon asking that, and he gulped.
"I already told you, didn’t I? That I was strolling around. Don’t you believe me?"
"Silas, it’s not that I don’t believe you. But when I didn’t find you in your room, I searched the whole palace. And the surroundings too. But you weren’t there. I’m worried about you, that’s why I’m asking."
And just then, the carriage stopped because they had arrived in the main city of the pack.
Damon assumed Silas must have been somewhere near the palace, but he just couldn’t see him.
"I think we’ve arrived, so let’s go."
Damon stepped out after saying that and helped Silas out. As they came out, a cold breeze touched Silas’s body, sending a shiver through him.
"It’s cold out here," Silas said, rubbing his palms on his arms to warm himself.
Damon pulled Silas closer and joined hands with him.
"Stay close to me—you won’t feel cold. And don’t let go of my hand either. Who knows if you get lost?"
Silas pouted. "I’m not a kid to get lost."
"Yeah-yeah, you’re not. So, should we eat something now?"
Silas nodded, and Damon took him to a restaurant that was very famous. As they sat down across from each other, Damon ordered the food.
"What’s your favorite dish, Silas?"
"I’m not a picky eater. I can eat everything."
"That’s good to hear. I’m not a picky eater either."
"But yes, I have an allergy to mushrooms—it could be deadly for me."
Damon’s face turned pale. "Why didn’t you tell me sooner?"
Damon had ordered a mushroom dish too, so he quickly changed the order. And sigh in relief that he comes to know on the right time.
