Chapter 227: Unexpected name

Seeing Silas’s reaction, Meyer understood that Silas was shocked.

"Hey, don’t be too shocked. I’ve got some other big news too. What will happen to you if you hear the rest?"

"What are your other news?"

Meyer walked into the apartment, and Silas locked the door behind him.

As Meyer sat down on the sofa, Orian came out holding a plate of pizza, and Velric followed with a cold juice in his hands.

Silas smiled at Velric and Orian, but his mind was still stuck on the identity of the High Priest who had planned everything.

Was it the one who called himself Theron’s father? Or was it Van?

Or maybe someone else entirely different person? After all, there wasn’t just two High Priests in the Temple—there were many.

That’s why it was a little hard for him to come to any conclusion.

Still, he tried to think from every perspective. But even after thinking for a while, he couldn’t figure out who it was.

Eventually, he sat down on the sofa. Velric handed him a slice of pizza, and Silas smiled while taking it.

Velric also took a slice for himself and sat down on the floor beside the small table.

Orian handed a slice to Meyer too.

"Did you already tell Silas about it? ’Cause he seems shocked," Orian asked Meyer while eating.

"Yes. As expected."

Silas glanced at Meyer. "So, what was that news you were talking about?"

"Then I’ll tell you the name of that High Priest—his name is Ras."

This was the first time Silas had ever heard that name.

He had been suspicious of that crazy priest, or maybe Van, but it turned out to be someone else entirely.

It was unexpected. The main question now was—why? Why was this Ras targeting Silas?

What could he gain from getting Orian killed and framing Silas for it?

"Silas, you know, when Meyer told me all this, I was also shocked. I wanted to come to you right away and tell you everything, but since you weren’t in the pack, I didn’t come," Orian said.

"But how did you return in just one day? Did something happen?"

Then Silas told him everything that happened and how worried he had been.

"OMG, it looks like problems are your best friend, Silas. They’re always beside you." free𝑤ebnovel.com

But what could Silas even do when he always ended up in the middle of problems? It’s not like he asked for it or anything.

"What about your mate? Didn’t he follow you even after you said no?" Meyer asked.

"I told him no, that’s why he didn’t follow. And his mother seemed angry, so of course, as her son, he should comfort her. Also... he’s not my mate."

"Really? I doubt it, but since you’re saying it, I’ll believe you. So, what are you going to do about that Ras guy?"

It wasn’t like Silas knew what Ras looked like or what his motives were.

But clearly, that guy kept targeting him—so he had to do something.

He needed to find out who he was and why he was doing all this.

While thinking, it suddenly hit Silas—was this Ras the same person who had kidnapped him, drawn his blood, and later sent those perverted messages?

"I think he’s the same one... the one who drew my blood."

"Wait—are you sure? ’Cause I still remember that perverted message you told me about ," Orian said.

"I’m sure, Orian. And I think we should file a complaint about him to the police, since that’s all we can do."

The Temple wasn’t something small and weak—it was powerful, and no one could easily mess with them.

Most of the packs were under their control. Still, there were a few strong packs, like Blood Fang Pack, that stood against the Temple and glared at them with defiance.

But since Van was Silas’s friend, it had been easier to collect information about Ras.

The problem was that too much had happened last night.

And Damon had also said that Van was the one who used black magic on Velric.

Silas was stuck in a difficult position now—he didn’t know who he could trust.

"Hey, is your brother ignoring me?" Meyer asked, since it had been a while and Silas hadn’t answered his question.

"Silas is thinking about something. He’s not ignoring you. Don’t worry—here, drink this juice," Orian said.

"And Velric, are you liking the pizza?"

Velric beamed. "Yes! It’s so delicious!"

He leaned back and rested his head on Silas’s legs, nuzzling in.

"Mumma, why aren’t you eating? Did you not like it?"

Hearing that, Silas brushed off his thoughts and focused on Velric.

"I was just thinking about something. But I’ll eat now. Did you like it?"

Velric nodded, smiling. Then he suddenly started crawling toward the table where the pizza was placed.

He picked up another slice with his hand and walked back—this time, not crawling. Orian chuckled at the sight.

"Velric, did you become a snake? Why did you crawl like that?"

"Cuz I’m a nake," Velric said, grabbing the pizza slice with his mouth and starting to crawl again—making everyone laugh.

"Did he just say nake...? Hahaha! Man, he doesn’t know how to say ’snake,’ so he said ’nake’—that’s so funny! Hahaha!"

Orian laughed with all his heart, and Silas and Meyer joined in too.

After half an hour, they finally stopped laughing—their mouths and stomachs were hurting from laughing so much.

As Silas sat there, still holding his stomach from laughing too hard, he suddenly felt a small hand touch his own.

He glanced down and met Velric’s big, innocent eyes.

"Yes, Velric?"

"Mumma, I wanna go pee."

The moment he heard that, Silas quickly stood up and scooped Velric into his arms, heading straight to the bathroom.

As soon as they left, Meyer didn’t waste a second—he reached over, grabbed Orian by the wrist, and pulled him onto his lap.

"Babe," Meyer said, wrapping his arms around him tightly.

"we’re going back home tonight. I’m not letting you stay here."
