Chapter 163: No Reason To Lie, Right?

[JIHOON]

"You’re avoiding me," Yanna suddenly said, but Jihoon didn’t stop. He kept on going, because he wasn’t sure what he would do if he stayed and had a chat with Yanna.

Yanna was hot on his heels and when she realized he was faster than her, she decided to use her vampire speed, one that gave her the advantage over Jihoon in so many ways.

"You can’t keep avoiding me, Jihoon," Yanna said and Jihoon just looked at her like he was telling her that he was and he would always do that.

They had nothing to discuss and as much as Jihoon was curious to know why Yanna had decided to come to Calindra, he wanted to do it later, not today.

"She’s your mate," Yanna spoke, making Jihoon pause and look at her like she had gone bonkers.

"What?"

"Kim Rania. She’s your one true mate. Many call their mates the love of their lives, but you won’t get to call her that, because she hates you and wants you dead," Yanna said and Jihoon stared blankly at the woman before him.

He was angry and was feeling a lot of things.

The fact that his suspicions were slowly being confirmed by Yanna of all the people, was something that drove him insane. This woman had the audacity to make claims, but what were the chances that Yanna was lying this time?

"You’re crazy," Jihoon said as he began walking back to the pack house. However, Yanna walked beside him with all traces of her injuries from earlier, long one. She was as healthy as any warrior in Calindra and that pissed Jihoon even more.

"You don’t know what you speak of, Yanna. Go back to the dispensary, I’ll talk to you tomorrow," Jihoon insisted and Yanna let out a hearty laugh.

It was the kind of laugh that would forever haunt Jihoon. The laugh of doom as many would call it.

Here and now as the moon shone lightly, it was just the two of them. Two people that had once been mated to each other.

They should have conformed to their bond but that hadn’t happened. Not once and certainly not ever. That bond was easily the greatest flop of the century if anyone was to consider it in any way. It was horrific, and Jihoon learned that already.

"You’re cute. I’m here confessing to manipulating your mate bond with Rania and yet you don’t even want to believe me. Why else do you think she came after me so hard?

"Surely you didn’t think that Rania wanted you, the mate she has always dreamt of for years, dead, right?" Yanna said with a scoff and Jihoon stopped in his tracks to look at the woman walking beside him.

He had always wished that the circumstances would have been better for their reunion but the more he was learning about the woman he once shared a bed with, the more he was getting the urge to rip her head off of her neck.

This woman was giving him anger issues and he wanted her gone, but that was also a little too expensive for him, so he had to make quite the choice.

"Good for you. What do you want?" the Calindra alpha asked, clearly not ready to deal with Yanna and her tantrums. He knew there was a possible truth to what Yanna had just said, but he also knew that it would be dumb of him to trust the woman.

This woman was a walking red flag that was constantly waving at Jihoon and if the alpha wasn’t careful, he would probably condemn his people to endless years of misery.

"You," Yanna said as she got closer to Jihoon, sniffing his neck as if she wanted to breathe him in more. She then tried to trace her fingers on Jihoon’s face and lips but the Calindra alpha wasn’t having any of that.

It was bad enough that he had spent years with the wrong woman. Letting her take charge again was simply going to be a terrible idea, not just for him, but Calindra too.

"Great. Treat me like a trophy now, would ya. If you’re done being delusional, then go back to where you are from. Whatever it is you want with Rania, you can go after her and do it. I don’t care anyway.

"You’re talking about mates, huh? You were my only mate, and if all mates are like you, then I’d rather be mateless," Jihoon said confidently but Yanna wasn’t ready to let go.

She hadn’t cheated death just to come and be waved off.

Of course, she was smart enough to know Kim Rania would kill her without trying so hard. Kim Rania wasn’t scared of Yanna, and she had never been scared. If anything, it was the other way around.

Yanna was scared shitless of the psycho Incayon alpha n the only thing that could guarantee her life this time, was Jihoon. And she wasn’t about to let him go.

"Y’know, the whole realm got it all wrong."

"The fuck does that even mean?"

"Everybody thinks that Dalrae is the most important person to Rania, but y’all got it wrong. Sure, Dalrae is important to Rania, but the one person who Rania had been protecting with her life all this while, has always been her mate.

"If you didn’t quite understand me yet, I’ll spell it out for you. You, Park Jihoon, are the most important person in Kim Rania’s life. For you, she would cross the ocean on foot. For you, she would go against kings and queens.

"And for you, she would kill without thinking twice. We have all known what she would do to protect Dalrae. But that woman killed me because she knew I fucked your mate bond.

"She threatened to tell King Seojoon that I was Eunbi’s illegitimate daughter with King Nathaniel if I ever hurt a hair on your head. She promised to send chopped pieces of my body to Drarun to remind my father that no one fucked with what she loved and lives.

"You, Park Jihoon, are Kim Rania’s greatest treasure, and with the same measure, you are her greatest weakness," Yanna said proudly, as she let out a long breath. It was like she had been lecturing Park Jihoon on what was important and what was not.

However, Jihoon just knew so well that Yanna Petrova was a little bitch and a manipulator. This wasn’t new to him, and maybe that was why he didn’t believe her.

"Go to sleep. I’ll talk to you tomorrow. If you have more delusions like this, Nurse Choi can prescribe for you anti-delusional pills, alright. Please tell her that I’ll foot the bill," Jihoon responded casually, clearly not believing a word that Yanna said.

Jihoon being the most important person to Rania was like an old folktale that the older people told the kids to make them feel important. Everyone was aware of the hatred between Kim Rania and Park Jihoon.

But what if this time, Yanna was right?

What if all of this was true then?

What would Jihoon do?

"Of course, you think I’m lying. Feel free to ask Daehyun. He knows everything," Yanna said, before waking back to the dispensary with a smile on her face.

This was going to be fun for her.
