Marvel's master of cosmic magic-Chapter 604
"Guild Master! We’re coming too!"
Seeing Rowan locked in combat high above, Natsu’s blood ignited. He spurred the Fire Dragon King forward without hesitation. Erza, Laxus, and the others followed close behind, lightning, steel, and flame cutting through the sky.
"We’re Fairy Tail!"
Against any enemy, no matter how impossible, they charged. Bonds. Pride. Stubborn courage. They didn’t know how to do anything else.
Acnologia snapped.
After being battered again and again by Rowan, unable to land a decisive blow, the Black Dragon’s rage boiled over. Seeing the others rush in only made it worse.
"You’re all asking to die!"
If he couldn’t crush Rowan, he could still slaughter these nuisances. Kill the Dragon Slayers. Kill the Fire Dragon King. Then retreat and return later with a solution.
That was the plan.
Rowan’s eyes narrowed.
"Enough."
Magic alone wouldn’t end this. Physical force wouldn’t either. And if Acnologia chose to flee, even Rowan couldn’t guarantee stopping him outright.
Not here.
But this world wasn’t Rowan’s only battlefield.
He raised his hand.
"Come inside."
Reality tore open.
A vast black rift swallowed the city, the sky, the charging Black Dragon, and Natsu’s group in one sweeping motion. In the same instant, Rowan vanished with them.
The world changed.
"Flying is prohibited," Rowan said calmly.
The rules obeyed.
Acnologia lost lift mid-air and slammed into the ground in a violent crash, rubble erupting around him. He tried to beat his wings, but nothing happened.
"What is this place?" he snarled, struggling to rise. "Why can’t I fly?"
The surroundings stretched into emptiness, a boundless expanse anchored only by the ruined city beneath them.
"This is impossible," Acnologia roared. "No magic works on me!"
Rowan didn’t answer aloud.
Because it wasn’t magic.
This was his world.
And here, the laws themselves listened.
Rowan descended like a falling star and began to beat Acnologia into the ground.
Without flight, the Black Dragon was trapped. His speed vanished. His freedom collapsed. Devouring magic faltered under foreign rules, weakened and restrained by a reality that wasn’t its own.
Then Rowan layered the assault.
Curses. Lightning. Killing spells. Dragon roars. Judgment magic. Control techniques.
None at full power. Not even close.
But combined with absolute physical suppression, it was more than enough.
Twelve dragon-slaying blades rose into the air, forged and refined long before this battle. Under Rowan’s control, magnetism screamed. The blades tore forward, carving through scales that once laughed at armies.
Acnologia roared, wounded again and again.
"Finish it."
The blades merged into a single streak of light.
The strike pierced straight through the Black Dragon’s skull.
The world went silent.
"Sixfold Devour."
Under the reinforcement of his world’s laws, Rowan consumed everything. Flesh. Power. Soul. When the last traces vanished into him, he reverted to his familiar cat form.
Natsu and the others stared, frozen.
Rowan returned them to the outside world.
"Restore," he said.
The ruined city rebuilt itself in an instant.
"I’ll be unavailable for a while," Rowan added, glancing back. "Guild matters go back to the old master."
Before anyone could respond, he was gone.
One month later.
Rowan opened his eyes inside his world, satisfied. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Acnologia’s body had been fully absorbed. His strength now flowed naturally through Rowan’s own, even granting him access to the Black Dragon’s form. The soul had yielded its secrets as well, including the devouring trait.
In other worlds, that would make all the difference.
"Ah. Right."
Rowan retrieved the sealed cards containing the nine demons and returned to the outside world.
It was deep night when he appeared inside Fairy Tail’s castle.
In Mirajane’s room.
"Who’s there?" she gasped, instinctively shifting into her Satan form.
Rowan laughed softly as he was suddenly pinned to the bed.
"It’s me."
She relaxed, starting to revert—
"No," Rowan said, lifting the covers with a grin. "Stay like that. That’s exactly what I want."
Mirajane smiled, sharp and confident, her tail curling as she flipped their positions.
"You said it," she whispered. "Don’t regret it."
"I prefer being on top," she added.
