Chapter 53 - 53: Mystic Paths

Peter Parker sat hunched over his workstation in Web-quarters, eyes sharp as he worked with his latest creation.

This... this could be it, he thought, grinning to himself. UMF tech plus nanobots. Stark would have a heart attack if he saw this.

His AI companion, CELESTE, was busy processing gigabytes of data at once.

["Sir, you have been sitting still for 9 hours. Recommended: hydrate and perform light stretches. Also, stop muttering to yourself like a Bond villain."]

Peter chuckled. "It's called 'working hard,' Celeste. Ever heard of it?"

["Yes. It's usually followed by 'crashing hard'."]

Peter stretched, his joints popping like bubble wrap."Nah, I'd adapt."

["Making a great reference is still no reason to not touch some grass, Sir."]

He sighs and stared at the tiny cluster of nanobots in front of him. These nanobots combined with UMF tech, they could mimic anything.

His fingers flew across the keyboard. The room filled with holographic schematics, models of nanobots shifting molecular structures. Peter smirked.

"Time for something cooler than Batman's utility belt."

He assembled the prototype, fed it a strand of UMF, and activated the nanobots. Within seconds, they morphed and shimmered.

["Analysis complete: Prototype NanoMimic successful. Current capabilities: Material Scanning, Molecular Reconstruction, Adaptive Camouflage."]

Peter's eyes widened. "I just built a tiny T-1000..."

["Correction, Sir. Your creation is 37% less terrifying and 62% more practical.]

"Hey, don't downplay my villain origin moment," Peter joked.

He grinned and grabbed an adamantium blade from the Wolverine clone's claws and fed it to the nanobots after a few clicks on the keyboard. In seconds, the bots scanned and restructured.

No way... Those tiny nanobots turned metallic, sharp, almost indestructible.

"Okay, that's cool."

Then he tossed in a carbonadium fragment. Why stop at adamantium? Let's see how you handle this bad boy.

The nanobots pulsed and shifted again. They adapted perfectly.

Peter sat back, stunned. "Oh, I could totally sell this to HYDRA... or bankrupt them."

["Humorous but unwise. Current probability of HYDRA kidnapping you for top-secret research: 74%."]

"Yikes."

With NanoMimic functional, Peter shifted gears. His initial design for the Superior Spider-Man suit included vibranium plating with mechanical spider legs armed with switchable adamantium and carbonadium claws. But now?

"Why stick to one material when I can use all of them?" he mused, voice brimming with excitement.

He started modeling the entire suit with adaptive nanobots, able to change between adamantium and carbonadium properties mid-battle. Sadly, he didn't have the samples for Vibranium and Uru.

Imagine fighting Thanos and switching claws mid-swing. Instant flex. He smirked. And probably a meme caption.

Next, he moved to the drones.

Small spider-shaped devices filled the holographic screen. Stealth mode, sonic cloaking, silent repulsors, adaptive camouflage, plasma stingers.

"Stealth drones with stingers? The Mandalorian would kill for these."

["Sir, the Mando's Beskar armor would resist plasma stingers."]

"Way to ruin my fun, Celeste."

He listed out materials for the drones: light alloys, cloaking mesh, high-density batteries. A shopping trip was overdue.

Next, Peter's attention returned to the glowing blueprint of Stark's Arc Reactor.

"Miniaturize this even more... but make it cooler than Tony's chest bling," he mumbled.

["Objective: Improve energy efficiency by 18% and reduce heat output. Beginning simulation."]

Peter's fingers danced through the holograms. "Let's upgrade this. I'd adapt to the palladium poisoning, which means more Spider-Man power."

He enhanced the energy matrix, restructured the magnetic containment fields, and redesigned the internal conduits to be thinner and more efficient.

"Peter Parker, teenage genius, casually reworking a multi-billion-dollar invention while everyone else is stressing over homework," he muttered with a grin.

"Now where am I gonna get enough palladium without anyone noticing?"

He looked into Stark Industries' supply chain system through his shareholder-level access. His eyes scanned the data.

There we go. Shipment to a minor contractor in Jersey.

"Time for some creative accounting."

He drafted an order under a shell company named 'LexCorp' and quietly rerouted 250 grams of palladium. Enough to avoid suspicion, but plenty for his suit.

He also ordered other items in his list like High-temp superconductors, Advanced ceramics, Salvaged copper wiring, Refrigerator components, AC/DC arc welder, Car parts and Custom capacitors.

"Feels like I'm building a spaceship."

["Or a time machine. Flux capacitor, anyone?"]

Peter grinned. "Don't tempt me, Celeste."

["Sir, you could've saved a lot of money if you would've just bought them at a scrapyard than online."]

He laughed. "Billionaires have to outsource my dear. We save more time that way. My time is more valuable than money."

CELESTE answered after a second of silence. [You are right again, Sir."]

Peter sat back, stretching and rubbing his tired eyes, and the holo-screen projected the completed suit schematic.

The Superior Spider-Man suit, without those white web shooters. Sleek. Deadly. A perfect blend of science and artistry.

I can't wait to put this on...

["Sir, Incoming text from Deadpool: Estimated delivery time of your black-market vibranium order... 2 days. Also, Wade wants payment in tacos and a sexy super suit."]

Peter smirked, resting his feet on the table. "Of course, he does."

Peter woke up to the smell of pancakes wafting through the air. For a moment, he just lay there, staring at the ceiling, enjoying the quiet. The calm before the next storm, I should enjoy this as much as possible.

He got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen where Aunt May was humming softly while flipping pancakes.

"Morning, Peter," she said with a warm smile. "Sit, sit. You've been out so late these days. I thought I'd make you a big breakfast."

Peter grinned and took a seat at the table. "You're the best, Aunt May. Really."

For all the chaos outside, this kitchen is like my safe zone. No clones, no supervillains, just... pancakes.

As they ate, they made small talk about the neighbors, about the strange cat that kept showing up in their backyard, and about how Peter's shirt mysteriously had web residue on it this morning.

Peter coughed. "Uh, laundry malfunction?"

Aunt May raised an eyebrow but let it slide.

When they finished eating, Peter stood up and grabbed his jacket. "I'm heading out with Felicia today. Probably grab lunch outside."

"Felicia..." Aunt May gave him the usual knowing smile. "Alright, just be careful, and tell her I said hi."

Peter chuckled. "Will do."

***

Peter sat beside Felicia as they cruised through the streets. Felicia twirled a lock of her silver hair and looked sideways at him.

"So... where to now, tiger?"

Peter gave her a grin. "177A Bleecker Street, Greenwich Village."

The cab driver glanced back through the mirror. "Bleecker Street? Kinda spooky neighborhood."

Felicia raised an eyebrow. "What's so special about that place?"

Peter smirked and gently placed his hand over hers. "Why don't you see for yourself?"

Felicia narrowed her eyes. "You better not be taking me to one of those weird pop-up escape rooms."

Peter chuckled but didn't answer.

30 minutes later...

They stood before the Sanctum Sanctorum. Its towering, mystical architecture loomed over them like it didn't belong in this part of the city.

Peter sighed internally. Here we go. Let me guess.. when I'm about to knock, someone is going to open the door like they were just waiting there, all ominous and wise.

He reached out to knock, pausing slightly.

Felicia gave him a sideways glance. "Why the hesitation?"

"Nothing..." Peter muttered, and knocked.

Right on cue, the door creaked open to reveal a monk standing silently inside. Karl Mordo? Peter blinked, pretending to act surprised.

The monk smiled politely. "Can I help you?"

Peter smirked. "Nice try. The Ancient One is awaiting me, right? Please lead the way."

Mordo laughed. "She told me you'd say that. Right this way."

Felicia looked between them. "Wait, what? Who's the Ancient One? Should I be worried?"

Peter chuckled. "Depends on your definition of weird."

The interior was even more surreal than Peter expected. Wooden floors, ancient scrolls, glowing relics, and walls that looked like they could rearrange themselves at will.

Wow, this is straight out of a Doctor Strange comic, Peter thought. Or maybe Hogwarts if Hogwarts got a Marvel upgrade.

They were led through a twisting corridor that eventually shifted into a portal, revealing a different location.

Celeste? You scanning all this?

["Active scan. Probability of pocket dimension: 98.7%. Dimensional distortion noted. Also... nice feng shui."]

Thanks, Celeste. I'll be sure to rate them five stars on Yelp.

The portal closed behind them as they arrived inside the Kamar-Taj Sanctum.

"Ancient One is right behind this curtain." Mordo left politely after leading them to the doorway.

The couple moved the curtain and entered the room. Seated in front of a small Japanese-style table, sipping honey tea, was the Ancient One herself. She smiled, cupping her hands together.

"Welcome, Peter and Felicia."

Felicia squinted. "Wait... you're the one who.."

Peter gently pushed her hand down as she pointed. "Felicia, manners."

He turned to the Ancient One. "Really? No pranks? No 'open your mind' moments?"

The Ancient One laughed softly. "They wouldn't work on you anyway. Please, sit."

They sat on the cushions placed on the floor as she poured them honey tea.

"So," she said with a smile. "Are you both ready to learn magic?"

Felicia blinked. "Magic? Like... actual magic?"

Peter nodded. "Well, the trippy Inception hallway earlier should've given you a warning."

Felicia shook her head. "Nah, come on, Peter. Magic isn't real. This is probably just really advanced tech, like that hologram stuff."

Peter grinned. "Someone needs a magical mystery tour."

Felicia narrowed her eyes. "The what now?"

The Ancient One chuckled. "It's a small tour. Your consciousness will visit different dimensions, show you the nature of the multiverse, your place in it, and.."

Before Felicia could object, the Ancient One gently tapped her on the forehead with her thumb.

Felicia immediately slumped, her eyes wide, as her astral form was flung into the multiverse.

Peter quickly caught her body before she hit the floor. Classic Ancient One move.

The Ancient One turned to Peter. "Now, let's have a talk , Peter. You don't trust me completely, do you?"

Peter smiled wryly. "Old habits."

She reached into her sleeve and handed him a folded piece of paper.

"What's this?" Peter unfolded it. It read: "BVS B4D FIGHT."

"Something your older self gave me to give you. He asked you to consider this a message from me. Will help you trust me better, he said."

Peter chuckled. "This is so me."

The Ancient One tilted her head. "What does it mean? Your older self gave me this without explanation."

Peter smirked. "It's a Batman vs. Superman reference. Stay down. If I wanted it, you'd be dead already. Classic Superman line."

The Ancient One nodded thoughtfully. "And does it work?"

Peter laughed. "Yeah, it worked... Did he tell anything else?"

She then added, "Your older self asked you to never ignore Harry at the University."

Peter's smile faltered for a second, his gaze distant. "I'll keep that in mind."

Felicia groaned softly and began to stir.

"I thought I died..." she murmured. "I saw... colors, shapes, things that shouldn't exist. And somehow... I'm still in love with my reflection."

Peter grinned. "Told ya. Magic."

Felicia shook her head. "Nope. Still processing. Still not convinced. This is the weirdest date ever."

Peter smirked. "And you loved it."

Felicia sighed. "...Yeah."

The Ancient One laughed. "Your classes start tomorrow at eight. You two will be the first day scholars in the history of the Sanctum. Don't be late."

Peter stood up, helping Felicia to her feet. "We wouldn't miss it."

========

I rewatched Iron man for the last Chapter and the Dr.Strange movie for this one. I hope I got all the characters right. And if you loved it, hit me with them power How's the new fic cover? And thanks for being awesome readers btw.
