Chapter 91 - 91-Qi transformation third stage!

After the first day, the trio reached the thousandth step. Yang Kai took another step and was surprised to find that the energy had completely shifted to Yang Energy.

By this point, over 90% of the disciples had given up, unable to endure the constant energy changes. Only the elites of each sect had managed to surpass the thousandth step, aided by their higher cultivation levels.

Though Hu Mei Er's cultivation was limited, she continued without much fatigue, while Hu Jiao Er was visibly exhausted. The group rested for half a day before continuing their ascent.

--------------------------------

At that point in time, past the three-thousandth step stood a figure clad in pure white. She was taking her time climbing each step. Even at that level, she continued to climb almost effortlessly. From the start, her demeanor remained calm as she scaled the stairs, similar to taking a leisurely stroll.

Even as the sleeves of her clothes fluttered about, she remained indifferent. Occasionally, she would use her hand to gracefully comb the hairs on her face back behind her ears.

The energy from the ground invaded the soles of her feet, but before it could even hurt her, the energies seemed to vanish.

Her entire face was flawless still, with skin as delicate as a baby's. Obviously, this was Su Yan.

Su Yan cultivated Ice Heart Secret Arts. she had a superior advantage within this test. She could easily climb without much effort.

Of course, out of the three sects, Su Yan was not the only ones that cultivated Yin and Yang-based cultivation techniques. There were approximately 700-800 disciples who cultivated Yin and Yang, but even when they realized the advantages they had in this test, they simply could not hope to compare with Su Yan. The cultivation techniques that each person held had different ranks. Naturally, Su Yan no doubt had the highest ranks of cultivation techniques.

Yang Kai and the girls were five thousand steps in now, but with progress also came immense difficulty. It was like climbing and crossing countless mountains and rivers. Yang Kai, however, showed no symptoms of struggle or pain, his face just as bright as when they first started climbing. This was not the case for the girls, who were both drenched in sweat.

As they continued to climb and exhaustion wore on their bodies, their appearances became even more alluring.

The more steps they took, the more heat built up within them, causing their skin to glisten with sweat. Their flushed cheeks and limpid eyes carried an undeniable charm, making them resemble a pair of ripe, fragrant honey peaches—full of color, scent, and irresistible temptation. One could almost imagine the sweetness bursting forth with a single bite.

"It's so hot!" Hu Mei Er muttered breathlessly as she ascended, tugging at her collar with one hand while fanning herself with the other. Her full, shapely chest peeked partially into view under her damp clothes, the clingy fabric outlining her voluptuous figure in striking detail, momentarily stunning Yang Kai.

She had never sweated this much before. Her robes stuck to her skin like a second layer, revealing every graceful curve she possessed.

The same could be said for Du Yishuang. Although she had only joined them around the 1200th step, the climb had taken its toll on her too. Sweat trickled down her face, and her normally rosy lips were parched. Instinctively, she licked them, the movement sensual without intent.

At that moment, Yang Kai, who had taken a few steps ahead, unintentionally caught sight of Hu Jiao Er's chest. It rose and fell like twin mountains, the valley between them a deep, flawless groove shimmering with beads of sweat. His blood began to stir uncontrollably at the sight.

He found himself briefly distracted.

Du Yishuang, noticing his dazed expression and the direction of his gaze, instantly realized what he was looking at. Her face flushed even deeper, a mix of embarrassment and irritation rushing in. She quickly pulled up her collar, using her hand to cover her chest, and snapped, "What are you staring at?!"

But Yang Kai only smiled more broadly, not bothering to avert his gaze. In fact, her reaction seemed to entertain him more, making his eyes linger with a boldness that was both shameless and maddening.

Being stared at like that, especially in such a vulnerable state, made the girls feel extremely self-conscious.

Drenched in sweat and clothes clinging to their every curve, they found it impossible to walk beside him. Instead, they trailed behind, silently cursing his audacity and wondering when he had become so... brazen.

They hadn't expected him to be this shameless.

"What's wrong?" Yang Kai asked, playing innocent, his tone light and teasing.

Du Yishuang glared at him, her cheeks burning red—not only from the exertion, but also from the intensity of Yang Kai's gaze. She bit her lip, clearly flustered. "Pervert," she muttered under her breath, but her voice lacked real venom.

Hu Mei Er, on the other hand, let out a breathy giggle. "He's not even trying to hide it," she said, a teasing tone in her voice. "Are you that curious about what's underneath, little brother Yang?"

Her voice was soft, sultry even, and the mischievous smile she wore as she turned slightly toward him made her teasing feel dangerous.

Yang Kai raised an eyebrow. "You're blaming me when you're the ones walking around half-drenched like that?" His eyes casually swept over her again—unapologetic and bold. "I'm just appreciating the scenery."

Hu Jiao Er scoffed behind him, though she subtly crossed her arms over her chest. "Scenery, he says. If we stripped naked, would you still call that sightseeing?"

Yang Kai smirked. "I'd call it a spiritual experience."

That earned him a synchronized eye roll—and a sudden light punch to his shoulder from Du Yishuang, who had caught up to him again. "You're getting way too cheeky," she said, though a shy smile tugged at the corner of her lips despite herself.

"We should save our energy for climbing instead of bickering," Hu Mei Er said, stepping in to mediate with a gentle tone.

"Hmph! Just don't think you can look at us like that again!" Hu Jiao Er huffed, throwing a sharp glare at Yang Kai.

Yang Kai only offered a faint, amused smile, saying nothing more. His calmness seemed to annoy her even more.

As they continued upward, Hu Jiao Er leaned closer to Du Yishuang and whispered under her breath, "I don't think he's the kind of person you should trust. Be careful... don't let him have his way with you."

Du Yishuang, however, simply gave a soft, charming smile and replied in an equally low voice, "He's bold, yes... but maybe that's not such a bad thing."

---------------------------------------------------

The climb had become quiet.

The oppressive energy that seeped from each step didn't scream or roar—it simply pressed down, constantly, like the weight of the world resting on their shoulders.

They had crossed the 3-thousandth step. The air had grown thin. Breathing was no longer effortless. Even their thoughts seemed to move slower.

Du Yishuang stumbled slightly, and Yang Kai caught her arm out of instinct. She steadied herself, nodding once in thanks, then looked up at him, her face slightly pale.

"I think this is it for me," she said softly.

Yang Kai turned his head toward her, surprised but not shocked.

"I can't go further without risking something... serious," she added. "My body's trembling. I don't think I can handle much more of this pressure."

She looked a bit frustrated.

Yang Kai studied her expression.

Then he nodded slowly. "You've done well, Yishuang. There's no shame in knowing your limits."

That seemed to catch her off guard. Her eyes softened. "Thanks. I'll be waiting down below... so don't take too long up there, alright?"

"I won't," he said.

With one final glance up the staircase, Du Yishuang turned around and began her careful descent.

The Hu sisters looked at each other, nodding as if they had decided on something.

"Yang Kai!" Hu Jiao Er suddenly said.

"What's wrong?"

"We think it'll be better if we stop following you."

Hu Jiao Er resumed, "Judging from your legs, you're faster than us. Think about it, we would only slow you down."

"You're certain?" Yang Kai asked.

"Yes."

Standing up slowly, Yang Kai decided, "Since you have made your mind, I won't try to change it."

Yang Kai peered at the peak and found the need to utter his gratitude, "Thank you. Your company was nothing short of pleasant."

Hu Mei Er turned joyful. Her playful, cheery look was charming. The hostility and vigilance in Hu Jiao Er's heart were torn to pieces by his words.

"I will reach the peak and look at what's up there!" Yang Kai turned around as he proceeded onwards, this time much faster than before.

"Don't forget to tell us all about it!" Hu Jiao Er shouted with a typical smile.

"Alright!"

Yang Kai turned into a streak of black light, darting forward with renewed vigor.

Day after day passed, and Yang Kai had rested three times in total. He was really close to the peak.

There was a majestic mist that covered the peak. Looking at it felt like looking at a fairyland. Yang Kai had slowly crept into the fog, as seen by some covering the way he came from. The scene felt like the sweetest dream.

Where he was, there were only ten steps remaining... the last ten to finally end his arduous climbing journey.

He slowly walked up the steps, one at a time.

Nine, eight, seven.

Six, five, four.

Three, two.

Yang Kai lifted his foot towards the last step, foot landed.

A huge wave of energy fiercely swept past him, stirring up the Yuan Qi in his body. After a moment, the corner of his mouth cracked into a smile.

Getting his composure back, Yang Kai could see the Palace nearby.
