The warm winds of the summer drifted through the open balcony, carrying the scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass.

"…"

With a tight-lipped look, Julian gazed out at the night-descended city of Tiamut, and from here, he was able to see the colorfully lit stadium standing over the city like a giant turtle shell.

"I got it now… Kiernan, if you're Iron, then I shall be Metal!"

Julian spread his arms wide, hopped on top of the railing, and looked towards the dark, starry sky. If he fell, he would fall about fifty floors down to his death.

Yet, there was no fear on his face.

"Metal Style… that shall be it. My ultimate style that surpasses yours, Kiernan!"

With that declaration, the cracked soul started fixing itself as if the time was quickly turning back to a moment when it was whole and unbroken.

In an instant, it was fixed, and a wave of strength washed over him like a warm bath. It felt extremely good, and for the first time in his life, he felt whole and powerful.

For the first time in his life, he was able to use all the strength of his martial soul!

"Hahahahaha!"

His laughter echoed across the night air.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Fireworks exploded across the air as the second day of the nationals was about to start!

People from all corners of life swarmed inside the stadium and hastily took their seats in the audience that was quickly getting filled to the brim with excitement and anticipation.

Through the gigantic screen in the stadium, the matchups of the next round—round of 32—were shown quickly to the eager fans.

[Karuza High vs. Gao High]

"Are y'all ready?!"

Coach Jin shouted to the quiet members of Karuza High.

Ever since they arrived in the stadium, they had been tight-lipped and pretty much quiet. It was clear that they were nervous and wanted to handle their own emotions in silence.

"Yup!"

Julian stood up with a grin and then turned to the side, where Kiernan slowly stood up with white tape wrapped around his knuckles.

It looked like he was preparing to finally fight in the nationals.

"Sorry, Kiernan, but I don't think we need you just yet. I don't think I will be losing to anyone today, sorry bud!"

"Oh?"

Kiernan looked at him, then shrugged his shoulders and said.

"I guess I'll just have to wait for my turn."

"Who knows, maybe you don't have to fight a single match. Not even against Zachary… because I will crush him by myself."

Julian said with a smirk, then cracked his knuckles and made his way out of the locker room. As soon as he arrived at the arena, the crowd showered him with applause.

"Time to show who the hell I am!"

They made their way to their bench and soon saw their opponents, Gao High, arrive at the opposite bench.

Unlike their opponents so far, they carried themselves with confidence and trust in their own abilities.

After all, they made it to the round of 32, which made them already among the best in the nation. It wasn't their first time either, as they were consistent competitors in the previous years.

"Right, now that Kiernan is out of his suspension, Jonathan, you will start."

Coach Jin said.

As Jonathan was about to stand up, Julian suddenly touched him on the shoulder and pushed him back down to the bench.

"?!"

"Coach, let me. I want to handle this fight by myself."

Julian said with a smile on his face.

Others looked at him in surprise.

"And why is that?"

Coach Jin asked with a frown.

It didn't really make any sense to him, but he knew that from now on, Jonathan would be suffering constant losses.

There were only Martial Fighters left as their opponents, and with Jonathan's current rank, it would be extremely difficult for him to defeat anyone.

However, he might be able to wear out his opponents, giving Julian an easier time to defeat the rest.

"Just let me coach. I'll bring quick victory for us."

Julian stood up, tightened the white tape around his knuckles, and, without letting the coach talk him out of it, stepped into the ring.

"Shit…"

Coach Jin pinched his forehead and turned to Kiernan with a wry smile.

"He reminds me of you, Kiernan. You did the exact same thing last year."

"Did I? Well, it wasn't exactly the same, but I guess so."

Kiernan said and made himself comfortable on the bench. He doubted the team needed him for this match.

"Karuza High versus Gao High! I shall be the referee and witness to the match! The first fight is between Julian Noah and Shan Kuan!"

The referee appeared in the middle of the two.

In the left corner, Shan Kuan hopped up and down from the ground. He wasn't wearing any jersey as he had his chest bare, but he wore golden shorts with black flames printed on the sides.

With golden shorts, there was a red belt made of thick cotton that cinched his waist in a perfect bow.

Instead of white tape, he had wrapped his knuckles with black athletic tape.

Crack… crack… crack… crack…

As Julian flexed his muscles, his joints popped and cracked with satisfying, yet somewhat concerning, sounds.

"Wooo, my body is ready."

Julian moved into his strikingly offensive stance. It looked like he was ready to throw a punch as soon as the fight started.

"Are the two of you ready?!"

The referee asked.

"Yes!"

The two echoed at the same time.

"Fight!"

The referee swung his arm down and then moved towards the edge of the ring.

With sixteen matches happening at the same time, it was very loud in the stadium, but at that moment, everyone suddenly heard a bone-crushing sound.

CRUNCH!

Julian's fist landed on Shan's face.

"Metal Smash!"

With his feet lifting off the ground, Shan was thrown out of the ring and landed on the hard concrete floor.

That single punch was all it took to end the fight.
