Martial Arts Overlord-Chapter 525 - 523: Luo Feng, You’re Still Alive!
"So, he’s Luo Feng from Purple Sun School!"
Upon hearing Yue Haitang’s introduction, several surrounding martial artists nodded their heads in recognition, an enlightened expression on their faces.
"Who is he?" one of them asked.
"He XiaoSi, you’re really uninformed. Luo Feng is the top new talent among the four colleges in the Flowing Cloud Region this year. Rumor has it that he has comprehended the Grand Momentum."
"Comprehended the Grand Momentum! Looking at his age, he’s not even sixteen yet, isn’t that impossible?"
"There are merely such rumors. Whether it is true or not, I don’t know. However, seeing him remain calm in the face of Wei Kuang’s Wild Wind Saber pressure, it must be true."
"The Grand Momentum is indeed capable of severing the void. They are both sabermen. Who do you think would win if they were to cross swords?"
"Isn’t that obvious? You all heard just now, right? Wei Kuang had already stepped into the Spiritual Rotation Realm three months ago, whereas Luo Feng is only a martial artist at the ninth level of the Meridian Wheel Realm. Even if he has comprehended the Grand Momentum, he’s no match. Between the Meridian Wheel Realm and the Spiritual Rotation Realm, there is an insurmountable chasm of strength!"
"That’s true."
The nearby martial artists discussed amongst themselves. Seeing Luo Feng stand firm in front of Wei Kuang, many of them felt greatly puzzled. Now knowing his identity, they were all somewhat shocked.
"Luo Feng from Purple Sun School!"
Wei Kuang turned his gaze towards Luo Feng, his eyes twitching fiercely, and deep within his pupils, a glint of jealousy flashed by.
Understanding the Grand Momentum had always proved difficult. The first thought that crossed Wei Kuang’s mind when he heard Luo Feng had comprehended the Grand Momentum was disbelief.
How could a martial artist younger than him have comprehended the Grand Momentum that he had not yet grasped!
Yet, the aura that Luo Feng just exuded was definitely the Grand Momentum without a doubt!
Why can this young man comprehend the Grand Momentum, and yet I cannot!
Wei Kuang was slightly taken aback as a notion surged from within him. Intense jealousy raged out of control like wildfire, rendering his expression rather vicious.
"CRACK!"
His palm slammed onto the table with a resonant sound. The table in front of Wei Kuang instantly shattered, the breaks smooth and even, as though it had been cut open by a blade.
This exhibition of force gave Wei Kuang’s internal jealousy a reprieve, after which he fiercely glared at Luo Feng and coldly stated, "I’m sparing you for Yue Haitang’s sake today! However, I must remind you, a martial artist’s strength lies within his cultivation, not within whatever he has comprehended! I hope you’ll know what’s best for yourself."
In the corner of the tavern sat a lavishly dressed young man with a middle-aged man standing by his side.
"Young Master, that Yue Haitang really loves sticking his nose into other people’s business!"
The middle-aged man’s sinister eyes stared at Luo Feng.
The surrounding martial artists shifted their gaze towards them, swiftly pulling their eyes away, not daring to stare for long.
Both men had black flame logos on their chest—the emblem of Flame Sand City, one of the four main cities in the Flowing Cloud Region.
The richly dressed young man was none other than Xue Fei, who had been humiliated by Luo Feng when he proposed to Yang Wanyi in Dayang City. He drained the wine in his cup in a single gulp, eyeing Luo Feng, then snorted, "It’s for the best if Wei Kuang doesn’t make a move. Luo Feng caused me to lose face in Dayang Mansion. This is an account I certainly intend to settle personally!"
The middle-aged man next to him, the one who accompanied Xue Fei to Dayang Mansion to propose, was Housekeeper He. On hearing this, he nodded in agreement, saying respectfully, "You’re right, Young Master. We absolutely cannot let this youngster off lightly."
"Of course not. During the Twelve Golden Palaces Exam, I’ll make him lose face before everyone, destroying his martial arts spirit, so he will never step into the Spiritual Rotation Realm his whole life."
Xue Fei nodded, a cold glint flashed in his eyes as he smirked cruelly.
He had noticed Luo Feng and Yue Haitang as soon as they appeared. However, he hadn’t taken action immediately for two reasons: first, he was wary of Yue Haitang, and second, he wanted to publicly defeat Luo Feng during the Twelve Golden Palaces Exam. Only then could he alleviate his humiliation and hold his head high!
Luo Feng sat calmly in his original position. When Wei Kuang made his move, he had already activated his Protective Gang Energy, remaining unaffected.
Looking at the shattered table, Luo Feng’s expression showed a slight frown. Facing Wei Kuang, he calmly said, "Go ahead and leave after you’re done. If you don’t have any money for food, I can treat you."
"Sure, don’t hesitate. I’ve always been generous."
Luo Feng pulled out a tael of silver and placed it on the stool next to him.
"Huh?" Many people saw the silver on the stool, and their gazes hardened.
Who was Wei Kuang, the Wild Wind Saber, the top expert from Long Wind School in Tianming Region and a master of the Spiritual Rotation Realm, being treated to a meal with a single tael of silver? This was a blatant insult!
Some martial artists held back laughter while their faces turned completely red. They had not expected Luo Feng to have such audacity to joke around with Wei Kuang.
Yue Haitang, sitting beside them, raised his pretty eyebrows slightly, the corners of his lips lifting in a light smile. This guy simply refuses to suffer any losses...
Wei Kuang’s brows furrowed deeply. His eyes shot forth an intimidating cold gleam, and the five-foot long saber behind him began to THRUM and vibrate, clearly enraged to the extreme.
Glancing at Yue Haitang, Wei Kuang snorted coldly, then suddenly reined in his aura and said, "Yue Haitang, you’re heading to Sky Mountain, hoping to join the Sky Sword Pavilion, right?"
Yue Haitang let out a sigh, nodding. "That’s correct, I intend to."
A smile crossed Wei Kuang’s face. "That’s fortunate. I’m meeting a few friends from the Sky Sword Pavilion here. Why don’t you join us? I’ll introduce them to you."
With this, Wei Kuang turned his gaze towards Luo Feng, stating coldly, "However, I’d rather he not come along. My friends wouldn’t care to meet a Martial Artist from a place like the Flowing Cloud Region."
Luo Feng slightly furrowed his brows. Just then, Yue Haitang spoke up.
"No need." Yue Haitang flatly rejected the proposition.
Wei Kuang was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Yue Haitang to refuse such an opportunity and said, "Yue Haitang, making more friends couldn’t hurt. Once you join the Sky Sword Pavilion, you will have someone to turn to."
Yue Haitang frowned ever so slightly. Wei Kuang’s self-congratulatory attitude disgusted him; compared to Luo Feng, Wei Kuang was far inferior. He retorted, "I have no intention of depending on anyone."
Imperceptibly, Yue Haitang’s tone had grown much colder.
Wei Kuang’s expression darkened. He had been slighted by Luo Feng moments ago and was now being repeatedly refused by Yue Haitang. This shattered his usually high self-regard and left him deeply annoyed.
"Brother Wei Kuang, you’re already here."
Just then, a voice echoed from the stairway.
The footsteps drew near as three young men strolled to the second floor, heading straight towards Wei Kuang.
Martial Artists around hurriedly moved out of their way.
Each young man was dressed in uniform, with a small golden sword embroidered on their chests and sleeves, indicating they were outer disciples of the Sky Sword Pavilion.
Wei Kuang recognized the voice and turned around. Upon seeing them, he laughed, "Finally, you guys are here."
The Sky Sword Pavilion disciple with the smaller eyes noticed a stiff look on Wei Kuang’s face and, spotting the broken table, he asked, "Wei Kuang, what happened?"
Wei Kuang shook his head and glanced at Luo Feng. "Just dealt with an arrogant brat who doesn’t know his place. It’s nothing important."
The small-eyed Martial Artist’s face turned menacing as he replied, "Who dares to disrespect you? Him?"
With that, the small-eyed Martial Artist sneered, his icy gaze turning towards Luo Feng.
At his words, the two other young men also turned to look at Luo Feng.
"Luo Feng, you’re still alive!"
The well-dressed Sky Sword Pavilion disciple next to the small-eyed one blanched instantly upon seeing Luo Feng. He stumbled back three steps as though staring right into the face of fear itself.
"What’s going on here?"
The other Martial Artists were perplexed by the well-dressed Sky Sword Pavilion disciple’s reaction. He was a disciple of the Sky Sword Pavilion, one of the Twelve Golden Palaces. Even if his cultivation wasn’t remarkable, his status was significant, and most people wouldn’t dare to cross him. Yet this person, kitted out in grandeur, showed such terror at the mere sight of Luo Feng?
Luo Feng had been aware of the trio’s arrival from the start. He glanced at the one who had just cried out, stood up, and chuckled, "Xin Chong, you seem surprised to see me?"
The elegantly dressed young man was none other than Xin Chong, who had once hired the Jianghu assassins, the Black Bandit Wind brothers, with a hefty sum to hunt down and kill Luo Feng!
"You... you..."
Xin Chong trembled, his complexion deathly pale, devoid of blood. He pointed at Luo Feng, speechless for a long moment.
Back in Qingfeng Town, he had spent all his savings, even parting with a top-tier fourth-grade Spirit Pill, a Yuanlin Pill, to hire the Black Bandit Wind brothers to kill Luo Feng, believing it was a foolproof plan.
Now, standing right in front of him was Luo Feng, very much alive. How could Xin Chong not be utterly startled?
Luo Feng stared at Xin Chong’s ashen face, a mocking smile on his lips, and said coldly, "You’re wondering how I’m still alive. Too bad, you no longer need to know. But before I kill you, I must thank you. Your Yuanlin Pill helped me break through my realm. You did me a huge favor."
Upon hearing this, Xin Chong was so enraged he nearly spat blood.
That Yuanlin Pill was a treasure he had acquired with great difficulty. He had parted with it painfully for the sake of revenge, never imagining he would end up benefiting Luo Feng instead.
Luo Feng slowly unsheathed his Rage Flame Knife, his chilling gaze fixed on Xin Chong, and said calmly, "Choose. Will you do it yourself, or shall I assist you?"
His voice was composed, but the intense killing intent it radiated made Xin Chong flinch and nearly lose his footing.
Sensing the coldness in Luo Feng’s voice, the nearby Martial Artists couldn’t help but shiver, their eyes revealing their tension. Everyone realized there was an old score to settle between Luo Feng and Xin Chong. But Xin Chong was not alone; Wei Kuang was with him, along with two more disciples from the Sky Sword Pavilion. One was at the half-step Spiritual Rotation Realm, and the other a master at the first level of the Spiritual Rotation Realm. For Luo Feng to still intend to take action under such circumstances was sheer madness! 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Xin Chong, what really happened?"
Wei Kuang knitted his brows and turned to look at Xin Chong.
Luo Feng’s words had struck terror into Xin Chong’s heart. Hearing Wei Kuang’s question, a flicker of hope appeared in Xin Chong’s eyes, and he visibly calmed down somewhat.
As a close friend, Xin Chong knew Wei Kuang well. Although not a disciple of the Twelve Golden Palaces, Wei Kuang’s combat prowess surpassed that of ordinary outer disciples of the Sky Sword Pavilion. In fact, the three of them—Xin Chong and his two companions—had once joined forces and still been defeated by Wei Kuang’s blade. The memory of that domineering and fierce saber technique still sent shivers down Xin Chong’s spine!
With Wei Kuang here, I should be safe!
Thinking this, Xin Chong inhaled deeply, calming himself. He looked up at Wei Kuang and said with a forced smile, "Wei Kuang, Luo Feng and I just have a small misunderstanding."
