"Donβt worry sweetheart. Itβs all for the best. You marry the wizard and Iβll have everything that I have ever wanted. Youβd at least be useful for something," Queen Venessa whispered with a smirk flashing across her face.
She gently laid Mala on the ground and she stood up, adjusting her dress as the evening breeze kissed her skin. She walked back into the palace. .. "Carry Ava and get her ready to move," Queen Venessa ordered her sons who were waiting in her room.
King Lucas entered just in time. "Where is my daughter? Where is his highness?" King Lucas asked. His eyes were fixed on Queen Venessa and hatred burned through every word that came out of his mouth.
"I am not responsible for the kingβs whereabouts, Lucas," Queen Venessa answered, not sparing the king Lucas a glance.
King Lucas clenched his fists. "Andrew, Anthony, leave. I want to have a word with your mother," King Lucas ordered with a straight face.
For the first time in years, king Lucas looked at his sons with a straight face. They knew their father always stared at them as if they were eggs that shouldnβt be broken. But something about that evening was different. The kingβs gaze was filled with fury and resentment.
"Is everything okay, Father?" Andrew asked.
Without looking at him. "I said leave! And donβt you dare lay your hands on my daughter. Order the guards to get her in good condition," he ordered.
Anthony and Andrew looked at their father with creased brows, then back at their mother.
"Donβt worry sons, go. Iβll talk to your father. He seems to be in a bad mood," Queen Venessa said and she sat on the chair in front of the mirror.
She combed her hair and smiled.
Andrew shut the door and King Lucasβs cold gaze landed on Queen Venessa.
"What do you plan to do with my daughter? Where are you taking her to! What are you up to this time!" Lucas sneered.
Queen Venessa shrugged her shoulders. "Not something out of the ordinary," she answered.
"You think that this is a joke, donβt you?" King Lucas seethed.
"Do you realize Iβm the one youβre raising your voice at?" Venessa asked, finally turning to look at him.
"I am the king here, Venessa!" King Lucas reminded.
Queen Venessa laughed. "King? You think youβre king?" She asked and King Lucasβs crown appeared in her hands. "You wear the crown, Lucas, but I own it."
"I have had enough of you, Venessa. Leave before I do what you wouldnβt want me to. Leave my daughter and I alone! I am not going to let you kill her like you killed my wife!" King Lucas yelled. A drop of tears rolled out of his eyes the moment he said those words.
"Oh, so you know that I was the one who killed your wife? Thatβs strange," Queen Venessa said with mockery in her voice.
"I have had enough of you, Venessa!" King Lucas seethed, bringing out a knife from his rob.
"And I have had enough of your disrespect," Queen Venessa retorted before picking a jar from the table and emptying its contents on the kingβs body.
Only a bit of the white power managed to land on King Lucasβs body, but the moment it touched his skin, the anger in his eyes faded away.
His face dropped and the knife on his hands slipped off. Queen Venessa walked towards him and landed a slap on his face.
"Donβt," slap, "you ever" then another slap, "talk to me the way you did today! Not even in your grave!" She screamed and King Lucas fell down on his knees.
"I...I am sorry," he cried, with tears streaming down his face.
"Clean those stupid tears off your face before anyone finds you like this," Queen Venessa ordered as she walked towards the door.
"Are you leaving?" He asked, staring at her like a child.
"Obviously. You have failed to use your daughter properly, now Iβll use her to get what I want," Queen Venessa answered.
The moment she walked out of the room and shut the door, King Lucas stood up and held his head.
"I am sorry, Venessa. I am sorry, Venessa, I am sorry, Venessa," he constantly repeated as she walked towards the chair. Only for him to look into the mirror.
He then noticed he had blood running out of his nose.
He wiped it with his clothes and sighed. "I shouldnβt have yelled at her because of that thing I call a daughter." He uttered, like a fool.

~Meanwhile, Crescent Village.
At the time when Queen Venessa arrived at Crescent village with her two sons, it was late at night already and Lord Chris lit the candles.
"Is that my woman?" He asked, walking towards Anthony to take Mala from her hands.
"And why did you have your hands wrapped around her waist? Be careful about things that belong to me," Lord Chris sneered.
Queen Venessa cleared her throat. "Wizard, Mala is their step sister. They cannot have anything to do with her. But shouldnβt you at least commend us for bringing her back so soon? It is not that easy to come back into the palace without being seen."
"You are only doing what Iβll reward you for. And plus, It was all my plan. I told you all that you needed to do was get words into Malaβs head and she would definitely do something to make Francis leave. Things went just the way we wanted it and now sheβs mine," Lord Chris answered.
"And the old man? What if he finds out about your plan to kill Francis after you get the spell book?" Queen Venessa asked.
"Heβs never going to know, if you do not tell him," Lord Chris answered.
"Promise me," Queen Venessa suddenly said.
"Promise you what?" Lord Chris asked.
"After I help you to kill Francis and ascend the throne, youβll accept my sons as your right hand men and youβll hand over silver village to me completely," Queen Venessa asked.
"You greedy thing," Lord Chris said with a smirk. "We have a deal."
