Davian’s friends and mother were all at the hospital to see him. Davian had already regained consciousness and was having conversations with his friends.

"Dude this is so messed up," Lucas said.

"What is?" Davian acted ignorant.

They all glanced at him.

"Davian, why did you keep it from us?" Ray asked and Davian stared back at him, confused.

"We know. We know the truth about your relationship with Ms. Reyes. You entered a contract with her for a year to be her husband, dude that’s really crazy of you," Lucas continued.

Davian’s eyes went to his mother, then to Becca.

"Yes, they were the ones that told us and it was on the day Ms. Reyes came to break the news of your kidnap," Sarah stated reading his eyes’ movement immediately. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"And I hope you know the reason why I did something that crazy," Davian managed to smirk.

"We know and we understand. But we’re worried about you, you haven’t even married that woman and see what happened to you.

"The criminal responsible for it hasn’t even been apprehended yet. He or she is still on the loose. What if they try to hurt you again?" Ray asked.

"I’ll be fine. Besides, you guys talk as if I can get out of the contract with Silvia. I already signed it so it’s too late to back out now," Davian responded. Silence followed afterwards.

"By the way, where’s Silvia?" Davian broke the silence. When he had woken up, he couldn’t find Silvia- Just his mother and friends.

"She had already left before we got here," Becca answered.

Not too long after, a doctor and a nurse came into the room.

"Hello everyone, it’s time for Mr. Randell to get some medications which includes some sedatives which will help him to rest and heal faster," the doctor announced.

"Okay doc. We’ll go now Davian," Lucas said.

"Yeah, take care man," Ray seconded. Davian just nodded at them.

"We’ll be going now too Davian. Will you be okay by yourself, Mrs Randell?" Sarah said, inquiring from Elizabeth at the same time.

"Yeah, I’ll be fine," Elizabeth responded.

"I’ll personally pick you up later, okay?" Sarah added and Elizabeth just nodded.

The doctor applied the medications and soon Davian was asleep again, his mother sat besides him.

After some while she decided to use the restroom and so she walked out of Davian’s room in search of the nearest restroom.

A man disguised as a medical personnel was able to get pass the policemen in charge of watching over Davian.

He walked closer to Davian who was fast asleep on the bed, a tray with a syringe on top of it in the man’s hands. He dropped the tray on top of one of the drawers. Then he collected the syringe and was prepared to inject it into Davian’s drip when Silvia walked in.

She wasn’t flabbergasted to see a medical personnel at first. But the man kinda looks suspicious.

"Hey, wait who are you?" she rushed over to him. The man halted in his attempts.

"I’m a new doctor here and I was assigned to give this patient his medications," the man responded.

"What do you think I am? A fool?! I’m the owner of this hospital and the only doctors I strictly assigned to be in charge of my fiancée’s medications are doctor Edgar and doctor Sentencia.

"And they would never go against my orders. So who the hell are you?!" Silvia remarked. The man all of a sudden ignored her and continued at his attempts to inject the substance in the syringe into Davian’s drip.

Silvia went at him immediately and held his hand.

"What do you think you are trying to do?" she said as she continues to struggle with the man.

"Let go!" he said and pushed her away but she was able to knock the syringe out of his. He picked up a pillow and was about to suffocate Davian with it.

Silvia hopped on his back and strangled his neck with her arms. He moved to one of the walls and began to hit her back on it till she finally came off. He moved towards Davian to accomplish his task of killing him but then the policemen bursted in and pointed their guns at him.

"Don’t move!" they said. They had come in when they heard strange noises from inside. They apprehended the assassin immediately. Silvia moved towards to the man and slapped him across the face.

"Who are you?! Who hired you?!" Silvia thundered at him but the man only laughed at her like a lunatic. She cringed at just the sight of him.

"Take this bastard away, make sure he’s locked up and tell detective John to get his ass here asap!" Silvia ordered.

"Okay, Ms. Reyes," the policemen responded and started to take the man away. Elizabeth walked in immediately, confusion and worry written all over her face.

"What happened here?" she asked. But Silvia was too exhausted to explain.

Elizabeth soon got to know what had happened when detective John arrived at the hospital and they discussed the matter with him.

She left her son for just a few minutes and someone tried to murder him, she couldn’t take this anymore, it was too much for her to take in at once.

"Question that man, he might be connected to you know who. Get something from the suspects already, let’s arrest you know who already," Silvia tried to leave Gabriel Yul’s name out of it as Elizabeth was around.

"We’ll try Silvia," John replied.

"You are not trying hard enough, get something out of them. Someone is out there threatening Davian’s life and your men couldn’t even stop it," Silvia found herself yelling at him.

"I’m very sorry for that and I’ll tighten the security. I’ll also make sure to squeeze out the information we need from those suspects," John responded calmly.

"Can’t we just arrest that man already?!" Silvia asked, she was getting sick of this whole thing.

"We can’t just arrest him without solid evidence. We need to find something against him before we do that or he could sue us for harassment and false accusations," John responded. Silvia scoffed.

"Let me get back to work, Ms. Reyes. I’ll update you on the case and if you need anything don’t hesitate to call me, I’m one call away," John said and excused himself.

Silvia’s eyes gazed back at Davian who was still sleeping so soundly.

"What ’man’ were you referring to throughout your conversation with the detective?" Elizabeth asked. Silvia pursed her lips as she thought if she should answer it or not.

"It’s just a man who we think might be responsible for what happened to Davian and probably what happened today as well. But we don’t have solid prove to incriminate him," Silvia answered.

Elizabeth just nodded, she accepted Silvia’s decision not to tell her the man’s name.

"Silvia..." Elizabeth trails off.

"I’m sorry, about yesterday and the way I acted or reacted. Sorry for pinning the blame on you," she added. If Silvia hadn’t walked into the room on time, her son might be dead. She was grateful for that.

"It’s okay. I understand where you were coming from and you were right, I’m partly the cause of why all these is happening to Davian and I’m sorry," Silvia apologized, she can’t believe how she was saying the magic word so easy since yesterday.

Elizabeth just nodded at her.

Towards the evening when Elizabeth had already left with Sarah who came to pick her up as promised, that was when Davian finally woke up.

"How are you feeling?" Silvia who was still by his side, inquired.

"I feel energized," he replied and Silvia smiled. ’Should she tell him?’ she thought as her smile dissipated.

"What’s wrong?" he asked.

"Nothing. It’s just, someone attempted to kill you in your sleep today. But luckily I came in time to stop him," she said.

"Really? I didn’t even notice, I slept like a baby," he jokes and she managed to give him a smile.

"Hey cheer up okay?" he said.

"I can’t. Not until the person responsible for all these is dealt with, not until you’re out of danger, Davian," she responded.

"The man who tried to kill you earlier has been arrested, I hope he just confesses who hired him to do it or who he works for," Silvia continued.

"Okay, now come here my super woman," Davian smiled at her as he urged her to lie with him on the bed.

"What?" she uttered.

"Sleep close to me tonight, my super woman," he replied.

"Quit calling me that," she chuckled.

"I can’t, princess. Thank you for saving me, my sweet knight in shining armor," he continued to tease her as she snuggled into him on the bed that was big enough for two people.

"Stop flattering me. It isn’t funny, Davian. This is your life we’re talking about but you’re acting so carefree," she scolded him.

"What? Should I be worked up like you?" he asked and she hits his chest gently.

"Ouch, that really hurt," he faked and they both chuckled.

"I’m not use to you caring for me but I like it," he said as he cuddles her even more.

There was silence.

"Davian?" Silvia broke the silence.

"Hmm hmm," she heard him say.

"Do you want to hear the story of my kidnap?" she asked. He didn’t respond for some while.

"Do you want to tell it? I mean, wouldn’t it bring back bad memories?" he asked.

"I want to tell you," she replied.

"Okay then. Shoot for it, I’m all hears." he responded.

"Okay, here it goes..." she trails off.
