Chapter 36: Enemy

She moved away, towards her car and she entered. Her head landed on the steering wheel, her hands clenched on it as well.

Her head jerked towards her phone which was ringing. She held it. It was Cia and she had already received previous missed calls from her.

"Hello," Silvia picked up.

{Where are you? I’m already at the place and I’m still waiting for you and Olivia}

"Call Olivia, tell her not to come. Let’s cancel it," Silvia answered.

{What? Why?}

"Cia... Davian has just been kidnapped,"

...

Silvia was out of her car as she gave her statements to the police.

"Do you have any enemies perhaps, that might be responsible for this? Maybe for a grudge or something and they wanted to get back at you," the officer asked.

"None that I can think of that would be responsible. And I don’t think it will be right pointing blames without proper prove, there are some suspects in my head but...I don’t think our disagreements is enough for them to do this kind of thing," Silvia answered.

"Maybe it’s just a handwork of a kidnap for ransom syndicate," one of the officers suggested to the one in charge, who was a detective. Detective John Parker by name.

"It could be that. You are right, Ms. Reyes. It wouldn’t be right pointing fingers without proper prove or evidence, so we’ll look into the matter more before taking any steps on interrogating the potential suspects.

"Meanwhile, the search has already commenced. I’ll fill you in on the latest update. Will you like 24/7 surveillance?" John suggested.

"No, I’m good. But I’ll need some undercover agents, like two. Good ones who are skilled, they’ll act as bodyguards to protect someone," she replied, referring to Elizabeth.

"Sure. They will be ready to resume duty anytime," John agreed.

Just then, Silvia spotted Cia’s car at the other end of the tapes. She got out of her car and crossed the tapes despite the attempts of the police to stop her.

"Madam please, a police investigation is ongoing," one of the officers said.

"I’m here for Silvia Reyes," Cia announced.

Silvia went to her and hugged her, she didn’t know when she burst into tears. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"Sentencia..." she called as she cried her heart out.

"I won’t be able to forgive myself. I don’t know what kind of enemy took him. What if something bad happens to him? I will never forgive myself," she continued, sobbing and Cia tried her best to comfort her.

"Don’t worry, everything will be okay. He will be okay. Have you called anyone else?" Cia asked.

"No, just you and the police," Silvia answered.

"Okay. I didn’t tell anyone too, not even Olivia, I didn’t have the leisure of time to tell her. I was so worked up when you told me, I had to come see you without even being sure if you were at home because you stopped picking up my calls," Cia explained.

"Oh, I must be talking with the police then," Silvia replied.

"It’s alright," Cia said.

They both leaned on Silvia’s car as they waited for update from the police who were still in the scene. Also, they didn’t want to go home.

Davian’s phone which was in Silvia’s car started to ring. Silvia brought it out and checked to see who was calling him. It was Ray.

"Who is it?" Cia asked.

"His friend, Ray," Silvia replied.

"He was supposed to meet up with them," she added.

"What should I do?" Silvia continued.

"Do you want to tell them Davian has been kidnapped?" Cia asked.

"They’ll know eventually but not yet. Maybe, we might find Davian," Silvia said.

"Then don’t answer it, just ignore it first," Cia suggested and Silvia nodded.

Then the phone started ringing again. Cia looked at Silvia, A ’Who is it this time?’ expression on her face.

"Lucas," Silvia said.

It stopped ringing. Then a certain Darin started to call, then Becca and the one that made her heart jump out was when Elizabeth started to call. They must all be so worried.

"It’s his mother this time, what do I do?" Silvia was almost shaking. Cia has never seen her this timid and worked up, was she really that worried about Davian?

Cia collected the phone from Silvia and turned it off. "It’s better like this for the meantime. If we can’t find Davian tonight, then you can inform everyone of his kidnap," Cia said.

"Okay," Silvia responded.

Silvia’s head bowed in thoughts, Sentencia watches her friend closely.

"Are you really that worried about him?" Cia asked.

"Of course," Silvia sniffles.

"Tomorrow is our wedding, Cia, tomorrow! And this just had to happen. God knows which of the enemies I have obtained that abducted him.

"If anything happens to him, it will be my fault. You and I know clearly that being kidnapped is not a good experience." Silvia cried.

"These police aren’t doing their jobs. I’m going to go look for him," Silvia added and she was about to enter her car but Cia stopped her.

"Just let the police do their jobs. Where do you think he must be that you want to go look for him?" Cia asked.

"I don’t care, I’ll look for him everywhere even if it means burning down the whole underground syndicates in Asteria just to find him then I will," Silvia declared.

"You’ll just end up hurting yourself, what if something bad happens to you too?" Cia asked.

"I don’t care. I don’t care, Cia," Silvia hands covered her face as she cried more. She sat at the driver’s seat, her legs outside the car. Cia squatted down at her.

"I’m going crazy," Silvia continued.

’Why was this driving me crazy this much?’ she questioned herself. She never expected herself to be this affected.

"It’s okay, Silvia," Cia said.

"It’s not. Not until I see him, what if... what if I never get to see him again? What if I ended up seeing him only when... only when he’s dead in a morgue," Silvia continued.

"Stop saying bad things, Silvia. Don’t even think about it. We will find him, but please...let the police handle this." Sentencia said.

Davian could feel himself gain consciousness gradually. His head still hurt, was it still the hit or the substance from the syringe?

He raised his head up. Everywhere was dark or no...wait...he was blindfolded. He tried to move but only realized that he was bounded to a chair. Both his hands and legs and not with a rope, but with tightly padlocked chains.

He still struggled to free himself, his ears began to pick up multiple footsteps, approaching him. Then someone began to clap.

"Well, well, well...shall we begin the show?" the voice of a man, said.

The voice sounded familiar, it rang a bell but he couldn’t quite place his fingers on it.

Where did he hear this voice from?

Just where?

Wait?

Was it...?
