Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 108: Honest
"Of course not. I’m just asking," Davian responded.
"Well if I had cheated, you guys would have known. I would have told you both but I haven’t. Though, I have seen a lot of case scenarios and they didn’t end well because the cheating issue was kept a secret," Ray replied, adding salt to Davian’s injury.
"But it depends on the severity of the cheating," Lucas chimed in.
"Yes. The worse is if you continue cheating while keeping it from your partner. But if you stay away from cheating while keeping it a secret, you just might be safe if she doesn’t find out.
"If she does, well tsk. The best thing is to be honest, tell your partner, it might take a while for them to forgive you or they might never forgive you and just break up but it’s better than keeping it a secret," Ray elaborated.
"I mean if you can, go ahead but if your partner finds out about it themselves, hmmf that’s really worse but there’s a high chance that they’ll forgive you if you come clean," Lucas added.
"Would you come clean if you were cheating or if you had cheated?" Davian asked Lucas who was suddenly so immersed in the issue like a relationship therapist.
"Of course I would. Actually, I’m talking from experience- I didn’t mean to cheat though! And it’s totally normal for you to keep it a secret at first but if you have a troubling conscience that keeps bugging you about it,
"I doubt if you can survive the guilt especially when you are seeing your woman everyday and if the person you cheated on her with is a close person," Lucas responded.
Davian turned back to his drink. He just sighed, this was the same thing his mother had told him when he had went to her days ago.
"Mom, did...dad ever cheat on you?" he had asked.
"What? Why that question suddenly?" Elizabeth had responded.
"I’m just asking, mom, you know..." he shrugged faking a smile.
"Well no, he never did and I don’t know if he ever did," she replied.
"Well...what would you have done if you had found out that he was or he did?" Davian asked further.
"I don’t know. But...I would have been really mad about it if I found out about it, it would have been better if he had told me himself and asked for my forgiveness, also promising not to do such again," she answered.
"It’s always best to be honest," she added. She smiled worriedly at her son, he said he was just asking but she knows her son. She just hopes he hasn’t done anything wrong against Silvia and especially with that ex of his.
Come clean...
Be honest...
What if he does and Silvia never forgives or trusts him again? What will he do then?
But...he will just bring himself to tell her when the time is right and he will face whatever consequences that follows. But he will make sure it doesn’t result to him losing her. It was better than letting her find out herself.
After everything they have seen and been through, Leah or someone who knows about it might just tell her.
...
The day of the third meeting finally came and they were able to land the deal with the shipping company.
They all walked to the parking lot with high spirits.
"Hey Davian," Leah uttered as they stood in front of their cars which were parked close to one another. Becca and Lucas just went ahead.
"Hey," Davian just replied, in a low tone.
"Do you want me to set up more meetings? It will really be of great help to 3D and I know you will surely land all the deals," Leah offered.
"Thank you, Leah. But this would suffice, I...I don’t want us to see each other again, let’s stay out of each other’s lives and only greet each other without hostility when we cross paths," Davian responded.
"What? W-Why?" Leah asked, tears already forming in her eyes. Just when she thought they were getting closer, he had to say these. No, she won’t let it, she won’t let him go again not after she was starting to get him back.
"I’m sorry. Please, get over me. I wish you nothing but happiness and I hope you do find someone, who you will love again and who will love you back as well," Davian continued and she grabbed his arm.
"No Davian, don’t do this. You are that someone, I can’t live without you! I love you and I know you love me too," she replied.
"Don’t do this Leah, just stop," he said to her, once her tears started falling. Her hands gripped on his arm and her fingers were almost dipping into his flesh through his shirt.
"Leah," he called, he could feel the pain and he wanted to yank her off but she was like a stubborn leech.
"You love me-"
"I don’t, stop this or I might hurt you," he interrupted her, if he used force to yank her off, she might really get hurt but she wasn’t ready to let go.
"You love me! Say it to me! You don’t love her! Divorce her, let’s get married instead. We have always wanted to," Leah continued.
"You must be out of your mind, do you hear yourself?" Davian finally yanked her off, he could still feel the stings from the injury her fingers must have inflicted.
She was totally out of her mind, she has lost her mind. His eyes went to hers, he stared intensly at her dilated pupils, she wasn’t alright at all.
"Are you having a relapse again, Leah?" he asked, concern in his tone.
She was silent for some while, "I don’t know what you are talking about," she finally responded.
"You used to be a drug addict, Leah. Don’t tell me you are taking the pills again, Leah?!" Davian continued.
He was right, she used to be but all that changed when Davian came into her life and that’s why she loved him so much, but she started abusing the addicting pills again when she left the country.
"I’m not, okay?!" she yelled, she was so afraid he would really leave her for good if she admitted it.
He held her shoulders, "Tell me the truth Leah. You need help, while it’s not too late,"
She knocked his hands off and insisted, "I’m no longer an addict okay. And it’s because of you, I love you Davian. Please don’t leave me,"
"I’m... I’m so sorry Leah. Please, goodbye and see you when I see you," he responded and got into his car.
"No Davian, please!" she cried but he drove off. "No!" she can’t believe she just lost him again. No! She hasn’t, she won’t! She won’t have it. She would rather die than to lose him to anyone.
Silvia had gotten home on time to prepare dinner for Davian and herself. It was ready when he arrived home.
"Welcome back, Davian," she welcomed him at the entrance, he nodded with a smile. She tiptoed and kissed him.
"I made dinner," she told and grabbed his hand bringing him to the dining room.
She really did. "The cook assisted me though," she confessed.
"It’s okay, it’s amazing of you my princess," he replied.
She smiled, "I wanted to congratulate you on landing the three deals," she hugged him, "My hubby is awesome," she complimented.
Davian hugged her back.
"And sorry once again if I tried to make things a little difficult for you with my stupid insecurity and jealousy. I should have trusted you more, I’m sorry," she apologized once more.
Her apology just aggravated his guilt. Was now really the right time?
He bowed his head a little to look away from her beautiful amber eyes. "Stop apologizing Silvia. I am the one that’s supposed to be apologizing. I am sorry," he began.
"What’s wrong Davian?" she noticed how sad he looked.
"I’m sorry," his handsome face contoured in guilt and remorse.
"Please tell me Davian, what happened?" she questioned worriedly, he isn’t always like this.
How is he going to say this?
"I...I had kissed Leah recently, Silvia. On the day I came back home, we kissed at the office, I’m so sorry," he finally said it out. He eventually looked into her eyes.
"..."
