Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 83: Panic
Sage swerved to avoid the blast, which shattered the ground.
"Are you insane?! What if I didn’t avoid it?!" Sage screamed at him.
Cyrus’ dark state was getting on her nerves, and the way he looked at her made her think he didn’t care if she didn’t avoid the attack.
Sage turned away, grabbed her dress, and dashed down the stairs. She was supposed to be the enraged one, after all, he had imprisoned her friend.
Sage became frustrated and began to run away, aiming for the gate, but the increasing cold was weakening her and the gate was far ahead.
Feeling even more frustrated, she came to a halt and turned to face Cyrus, who was standing still, his cold gaze fixed on her.
"You will get nothing out of this," She groaned in frustration, fire whips bursting from her hands. "But if you want to fight, why don’t you come at me?"
Meanwhile, the blast had drew everyone’s attention to the castle, and Ashton was watching the couple from one of the tower’s balconies.
"Does she really think he is playing with her?" he scoffed then smiled.
Inside the castle, all of the kitchen maids were gathered in the kitchen, whispering and panicking about what was happening outside, while Ava, who wasn’t supposed to be there, looked concerned.
"His Majesty is in his dark state! This is terrible!" Samantha, one of them, became alarmed.
"Her Majesty is a fire mage, a very strong warrior; I am confident she can handle this!" Lori, another woman, spoke up proudly.
"What if his Majesty kills her?" Nina, who was literally shivering in terror, exclaimed terrified. "D... didn’t you all see those bodies in the throne room?"
Amelia, who appeared panicked, rushed into the kitchen, gasping for air, and all the maids turned to her. "His Majesty and.." She gasped for air yet again. "His majesty and her majesty are battling!" She finally yelled.
The maids all looked at her at the same time.
"I have seen them battle before!" Amelia revealed.
"What?!" The maids all exclaimed together.
Amelia nodded quickly. "I have! He even made her whip freeze!"
"They were battling inside the castle, and I missed it?!?" Samantha groaned.
"I have a feeling this won’t end well," Ava said abruptly, nervously biting her fingers, and they all stared at her.
Chef Owen appeared out of nowhere, his face flushed with rage. "Gossiping?!" He screamed.
"The king and queen are battling outside!" A maid screamed dramatically.
Owen froze in surprise. "W..what?" He inquired stunned.
Stefan dashed out of the castle, came to a halt next to Arthur, and was panting heavily.
He had heard the explosion and had a vague idea of what had occurred.
His gaze followed Cyrus in his dark state, effortlessly avoiding Sage’s fire whip attacks.
"No!" He exclaimed quietly and took a step forward, but he was stopped when Arthur grabbed his arm.
"I advise you not to intervene, Lord Stefan," Arthur said quietly.
Stefan clenched his teeth and yanked away his arm. "I certainly have every right to." He took a step forward, growling.
"Still, do not interfere." A familiar voice scoffed and he felt someone grab his arm.
Stefan yelled angrily and looked at Ashton, who was clearly annoyed. "Let me go!"
"Do not be a hero; even if he hurts her, he will hurt you even more and most likely kill you." Ashton spoke, his gaze narrowed at Stefan.
Sage finally whipped Cyrus’ arm, ripping into his coat and shirt, causing blood to flow out.
He titled his head to the side and stared at her nonchalantly. "Remorse?" He inquired unexpectedly.
Sage gulped. "Enough, Cyrus." She expressed her hope that he would return to his normal self.
"No," he hissed, approaching her and grabbed her neck tightly.
She immediately became unable to breathe. She grasped his wrist with both hands, opening her mouth and trying to breathe, but his grip around her neck completely blocked air from entering her body.
Was she really going to die in Cyrus’s hands?
"C.." She tried to speak but couldn’t, and Cyrus didn’t appear to be bothered by what he was doing.
She began to feel dizzy and the little air in her lungs was escaping faster. "C..."
His eyes were void, glimmering darkly and devoid of emotion. Her heart rate was starting to slow down.
This was not how she had live her day!
"No!" In panic, a familiar voice yelled.
Stefan jerked away from Ashton, his eyes transforming into a light purple reptile-like form, and he dashed towards Cyrus and Sage. He was engulfed by a dark purple glow and transformed into a large black dragon.
Opening his mouth, a wave of fire erupted, and as it approached Cyrus and Sage, Cyrus released Sage’s neck, and an ice shield shielded him from Stefan’s fire.
Stefan continued to breathe fire on Cyrus, who appeared enraged.
Sage rubbed her neck as she exhaled heavily casting a glance at Cyrus and the dragon. When Cyrus allowed the shield to vanish and Stefan breathed fire on Cyrus, her eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
He was so completely engulfed in flames that she couldn’t see him. Her heart skipped a beat, and she collapsed to the ground, exhausted from her near-death experience.
Stefan wasn’t stopping. What was the matter with him?
"Cyrus?!" She sobbed, tears streaming from her eyes.
She stood up and ran towards the burning Cyrus. "Stop it! Stop it!" She screamed hysterically at Stefan.
Stefan’s steely gaze softened as he heard the agonising scream. His gaze was drawn to Sage, who was crying and staring at him with pleading eyes.
He couldn’t believe it.
He immediately stopped breathing fire on Cyrus, who was still in his dark state and appeared completely unharmed.
But there was something odd about him. He was pale and had his eyes closed.
"Cyrus!" Sage rushed up to him and hugged him tightly, but it felt like she was hugging an ice sculpture.
Stefan reverted to his human form looking perplexed.
"Cyrus!" Ashton called and ran to the scene, looking stunned, followed by Arthur.
They had been standing there in complete shock and panic when they noticed Cyrus looking extremely pale.
Sage backed away from Cyrus, stunned. "Cyrus?" She yelled, terrified.
He wasn’t moving or opening his eyes.
"What did you do?" She screamed and turned to face Stefan, furious.
Stefan was speechless and perplexed.
Sage returned her gaze to Cyrus, who had returned to his normal state after suddenly glowing brightly. His eyes open weakly, revealing his ice blue eyes.
"Parrot?" He called out weakly and confusedly.
"Cyrus!" Sage smiled and hugged him tightly.
Ashton growled angrily and grabbed Stefan by the arm, forcing him to look at him. "You are a moron!" He yelled.
Stefan closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. "Unfortunately," he exhaled.
Sage buried her face in Cyrus’ chest, and Cyrus returned the hug, looking even more perplexed.
"Wait, what happened?" He inquired abruptly.
"Huh?!" Ashton and Arthur gasped in surprise as they looked at Cyrus, who had suddenly closed his eyes.
Sage felt his entire weight on top of her and collapsed to the ground with him on top of her. "Cyrus?!" She called in fear, realising he had passed out.
