Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 200: Grudge
At Cyrus’ words, tension filled the room.
"No!" Sage exclaimed with a whisper and facepalmed herself while Katherine looked visibly disturbed.
"Why did you not say that before?" River threw a fit and seized Cyrus by the collar of his coat. "You enjoy deflating hopes, don’t you?" He growled angrily, his eyes transforming into their golden reptile like form.
"Your grudge against me is deeply disturbing." Cyrus spoke bluntly, but it only served to inflame River’s rage.
"Well, it’s about time I showed you how strong my hatred for you is." He growled before releasing Cyrus and firmly punching his cheek.
"No, River!" Katherine yelled in shock and jumped out of the bed.
Cyrus winced inaudibly and turned his head to the side as blood poured from his nose, and at that same moment, Sage screamed loudly in pain, placing her trembling hand on her cheek.
Katherine gasped and turned to face Sage, who was also bleeding from the nose.
"Sage?!" Cyrus called out with a stunned gasp, shifting his gaze to Sage. The sight of her tear-filled eyes, trembling hands, and blood streaming from her nose sparked his rage and fear. The desire to retaliate for River’s hit was strong in him, but if they got into a fight, Sage would feel even more of his pain if he was hit.
In his dark state, Cyrus and River would frequently fight until they were both covered in bruises. Ashton saw their fights as entertainment and never bothered to separate them. Cyrus had never given much thought to their disputes, but now that he was soulbonded to Sage, it was beginning to bother him.
He moved in her direction, but River delivered another blow to his forehead, causing him to stop. He felt as though thunder had struck him, and the pain was excruciating.
Sage screamed in pain once more, this time even louder, and her forehead began to ooze with blood, just like Cyrus’.
Katherine noticed this and dashed over to Sage, cradling her as she cried out in pain.
Cyrus growled through his teeth. He had never tried to suppress his anger in this state, but he was doing so now and was struggling in restraining himself. He didn’t want this to turn into a fight because seeing Sage in pain made him want to murder River.
He let out a harsh sigh, straightened up, and glared murderously at River, who was clearly enraged.
"Calm down, and I’ll do the same." Cyrus maintained as much calm as he could.
"And what gives you the impression that I trust you, Draco?" River growled vehemently.
Cyrus’ lips twitched. "Trust me, Riv, you have to trust me this time." He maintained his calm demeanor.
"Fuck it!" River spat, then cracked his fingers deviously. "Let’s just get this over with. There’s no need to hide your desire to kill me."
Cyrus rolled his eyes and turned away from River, but as he took a step, River appeared in front of him, his golden reptile eyes blazing with rage and golden scales visible beneath his eyes.
"I am sure you heard me, Draco,"
"Can’t you see I am not in the mood?" Cyrus inquired, attempting to make sense to the golden dragon’s head.
"Why don’t you see that I don’t give a damn?" River inquired, chuckling bitterly. "Let’s get this over with." He growled and grabbed Cyrus’ neck firmly.
Sage’s eyes grew wide. She was immediately out of breath.
"Sage?!" Katherine screamed in terror.
"Sage?" Breathlessly calling out, Cyrus then fixed River with a menacing look and tightened his grip on his wrist. He groaned lazily, "Enough," and then punched him in the chest, barely touching him, sending him flying into the wall next to the room’s large open window.
River crashed into the wall, and the next thing heard was the raging roar of a furious dragon.
Cyrus dashed over to Sage, carried her away from Katherine and into his arms.
"Damnit!" At the sight of the blood on her face, he growled.
Sage closed her eyes and sighed deeply. "So this is the pain you’re feeling," she said slowly, forcing a smile. "When you were hit, there was no sign of pain on your face, but I felt your fear, anger, and pain."
"Shh." Cyrus caressed her hair as she buried her face in his chest, closing his eyes.
"We will be fine." She murmured and gripped his shirt.
"Yes.." Cyrus trailed off and opened his eyes, which met Katherine’s worried and shocked expression. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
She rose to her feet and sighed deeply. "What exactly is going on? Why is she feeling your pains and suffering from your injuries?" She was perplexed.
"Figure it out for yourself, water mage," Cyrus hissed darkly, his aura turning menacingly cold once more, causing her to swallow hard and back away from him.
"You barely touched him, but he crashed through a wall." She spoke slowly.
"And?" Cyrus inquired casually.
"I know you’re not your average ice dragon, you have powers. You cast spells, make potions, and your knowledge of the mages is incredible." Katherine spoke with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.
"Are you implying that I am a mage?" He kept his nonchalant tone and expression.
"No, but you are something like that; I can’t point a finger yet." Katherine responded slowly.
"You have the ability to calm River. He has been severely scarred since the day you lost your memories." Cyrus began to sound amused, but his nonchalant demeanor did not waver.
Katherine blinked quickly and averted her gaze. "You sent me away from Sage... to him."
"Has he ever hurt you?"
"No.."
"Your relationship was master and pet, and trust me when I say I don’t care, but that idiot is my friend, and I don’t like seeing him look this miserable."
"So you want me to fall in love with him?" Katherine asked the ice dragon in disbelief.
"Well, you did it before, didn’t you?" Cyrus inquired, and her eyes widened as she noticed mischief glinting in those cold eyes and his lips curving in a devious smirk.
"I..." Cyrus vanished from her sight before she could finish her sentence, leaving behind tiny sparkles of white and sapphire glow.
