Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 142: Attraction?
He nibbled on her lower lip, enjoying the fact that their breathing was in sync.
He was struggling to stop the sensation he was experiencing at the time, and to be honest, he didn’t want to stop.
He hadn’t expected her to suddenly kiss him, and when she breathed hot air into his mouth, a piece of his self-control snapped.
He groaned as his tongue explored her sweet mouth and her fingers dug deeper into his neck.
Sage abruptly broke the kiss, and he felt her hands tighten around his neck, jolting him back to reality.
He stared at her tear filled and desired eyes as they slowly turned fiery red and watched her lips move, asking, "Why do you enjoy torturing me? I did nothing to"
Cyrus didn’t say anything, even though he wanted to. He couldn’t believe he was actually attracted to the arrogant parrot.
Was it due to the kiss?
He took her wrists and yanked her hands away from his neck. "You have got to be kidding me." He growled coldly and moved away from her, out of the bed, and straight to the bathing room.
Sage sat up, removing the blanket from her body to reveal her gown soaked in Cyrus’ blood, convincing her that she wasn’t dreaming and that Cyrus was alive but had somehow turned to his dark state and wasn’t returning to his normal state.
"What exactly is going on?" She got out of bed, ran to the bathing room, and saw Cyrus already in the bathing pool, running his fingers through his wet dark hair.
She took slow steps towards the pool and stood still at the edge clenching her fist lightly. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
He had his eyes closed as he rinsed the blood of his body and slowly, the water was being filled with soap bubbles.
Sage stood there watching him while he bathe without saying anything, despite the fact that he was aware of her presence.
Her heart tightened, in pain making her unable to believe what was happening.
Where had her adoring husband gone?
Was it really time for his dark state to take over and accomplish the goals that needed to be accomplished?
Tears streamed out of her fiery eyes, down her cheek, and into the water.
"Would you like to take a bath?" Cyrus abruptly inquired. His tone was flat and emotionless.
Sage took a step back from the pool, terrified of his dark state.
"N..no." She stumbled.
His lips curved into a relaxed smile as he heard her stutter. Sage noticed this.
"Fear consumes you; fear weakens you; fear despises happiness, victory, and anything positive."
"Fear is what my dark state enjoys."
"Fear consumes people, making them weak, and he desires the same for you. You should not be afraid of me, or you will become a weak prey."
She swallowed hard and closed her eyes as Cyrus’ voice echoed in her head, taking a step to stand completely at the edge.
She didn’t want to be afraid of him, so she decided to tame him in any way she could.
She smiled and opened her eyes to see Cyrus staring at her blankly, his dark blue slit eyes glinting.
He narrowed his gaze to the question of what was causing her to smile so brightly.
"What are you doing here?" He inquired, then moved to the edge where she was standing, pushed her dress up, and gripped her ankles, causing her to gasp.
His hands were icy cold, and his grip was firm!
Sage was clutching her dress, and when she tried to kick him, she slipped as Cyrus unexpectedly released her ankles.
She fell into the pool, but Cyrus caught her before she fell in.
He wrapped his arms around her, pressing their bodies against each other and their faces dangerously close.
Sage coughed and buried her face in his chest, still coughing from the shock scream that was stuck in her chest.
Cyrus chewed his lower lip, his eyes darting around the bathing room as he listened to Sage’s racing heart beat.
She shifted her gaze away from his neck and back to his face once she had finished coughing.
As he stared, his brows raised nonchalantly. "What do you think you are doing?" Cyrus enquired.
"You made me fall into the pool." Sage frowned deeply.
"Did you fall completely?" Cyrus asked, rolling his eyes.
"Back to annoying Cyrus." Sage sighed and clutched his shoulders tightly.
Cyrus hummed. "Why aren’t you leaving?" He asked, then let go of her, allowing her legs and gown to sink into the bubble-filled pool.
"It is my decision whether to leave or not, my feet, not yours!" Sage snapped at him and yanked a small rope from her dress, pulling her hair up into a messy bun.
Cyrus stared at her blankly, unable to deny that she looked cute with a messy bun.
She blew her hair into her mouth and abruptly turned her back to Cyrus, revealing the zip of her dress to him.
Cyrus pulled down the zip and unhooked her bra without hesitation.
"Are you trying to seduce me?" He asked, smirking, as he fiddled with the bra hook.
"No." Sage replied sternly as she removed her dress, closed her eyes, and disappeared into the water.
Cyrus’ brow furrowed in surprise. "Wait a minute..."
Sage abruptly emerged from the water and cut him. Her hair was wet, her pale skin was glistening from the moisture, and her cheeks were flushed.
Cyrus’ eyes widened as she moved away from him and towards the pool’s stairs.
Cyrus swallowed hard as he saw her underwear stuck to her skin due to the fact that it was wet. His gaze followed her graceful body movement until she exited the bathing room.
Cyrus blinked quickly and took her dress and bra, which she had removed, and placed them on the ground outside the pool.
He sighed deeply and placed his hand on his chest, near his heart, and slowly rubbed it with his now glowing fingers.
Suddenly, a fresh fleshy deep wound appeared, and his eyes instantly turned black, just like a demon’s.
He clenched his jaw and swallowed hard as the water around him swirled and rose, eventually covering him and freezing into sapphire-colored ice.
....
"Are you really going to stay here?" Mirabella asked Katherine who sat at the end of the bed looking lost in her thoughts.
"Yes, just for a while." Katherine muttered.
Mirabella nodded understanding that Katherine had forgotten her relationship with River. She wanted to ask but stopped herself and sighed deeply.
"You should rest, you have freshened up after all." Mirabella told her with a smile.
"Thank you." Katherine smiled and looked at Mirabella. "Are you close to Sage? She is quite stubborn isn’t she?"
Mirabella laughed. "I won’t say close, but she is stubborn." She replied.
"Has she been doing well? Is she and the ice dragon in good terms? I can not help but get worried knowing the fact that he is friends with someone like prince River of Fireria." Katherine spoke terrified which Mirabella found odd.
"Are you scared of River?" She couldn’t believe it.
"You won’t understand but I cannot help but to be scared of him. River and the ice dragon... Cyrus are not that different." Katherine mumbled.
"I do not want to get involved but you and River are actually in love with each other but you have lost your memories of him." Mirabella revealed and Katherine stared at her in shock.
"W..what? You must be mistaken." She then laughed. "I am not in love with him."
"That is the point, you do not remember." Mirabella said with a smile. "Which means you cannot run away from him because he will surely come to you."
"I do not believe you." Katherine grumbled and laid on the bed covering herself with a blanket. "Thank you and goodnight."
Katherine sighed deeply. "Goodnight."
